  • Go Here to Download Your Book - www.myboxingcoach.com - Thomas 'The Hitman' Hearns, also known as the Motor City Cobra, stands in history as an icon in the sport of boxing. He was involved in some of the most fantastic fights, sharing the ring as one of the '4 Kings' alongside Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard.
Hearns took part on over 160 amateur fights, winning a national Golden Gloves title. In a professional boxing career spanning almost 30 years, he accumulated a record of 67 fights with 61 wins and 48 knockouts. To me he is the finest long range fighter in history. In this video I talk you through my 5 fearsome factors of the Motor City Cobra.
    Cheers
    Fran

I'm a Hagler guy from the 5 Kings era. I think Sugar Ray gets more credit than he should, and Benitez and Duran don't get enough. Hearns was an animal and deserves all the credit he gets.

I just think this was very good assessment on Tomas Herns
His trainer said he made a mistake that night where they let Thomas close fans in and he did to much running on the spot and weakened his legs.
He did look like his legs were not as strong as they could be but I was the way it went.
    Great bout both grate fighters

Thank you, coach. Tommy Hearns is my favorite boxer of all time. Being 6"3 170lbs with 80 inch reach people sometimes draw comparisons to me and Tommy in terms of build. Loved your breakdown on the HITMAN! Could you do another Cronk alum Gerald GMAN McClellan?

If McClellan and Watson hadn't been injured our memories of the 90s middleweight division would've been very different.
(Although McClellan taping dogs mouths shut to use as bait for his fighting dogs suggests he understood the potential consequences of combat)

Throwing punches tires out your front shoulder muscles making it more difficult to do chest exercises that will stimulate hypertrophy. You don't exactly get the most bang for your buck doing exercises like bench press for boxing but things like burpees are great for cardio and explosiveness.

Especially when it's close. I personally don't always agree with Thier decisions but I respect that they can see things I can't or consider more at once to better come to Honest and True decision.
