Legendary fight between Legendary fighters.
Don't make them like this anymore.
no kidding, haggler had 50 ko's out of 53 fights coming into this; who's got a record like that today?
@@LIONTAMER3D He was 60-2-2 50 KO's out of 64 fights
@@suavedrae352 that's way worse
@@LIONTAMER3D that's a good KO percentage still...James Toney has close to 80 fights
Marvelous Marvin Hagler was by FAR my favourite boxer of all time! I received a gift from my wife of a signed boxing glove from his website a year before his passing! I am so glad to have this memento signed by the greatest middleweight of all time! I would gladly give it up to allow him another 10 years of life!
Hearns is my favorite boxer of all time but I was not disappointed in the slightest with the matches outcome it was phenomenal Marvin hagler was a fantastic boxer
I still remember seeing this fight live on closed circuit TV. The most exciting boxing match I ever saw.
These dudes just came out swinging, gawd damn. Marvin is my favorite....I love watching him, and how he moves. His hands almost never stop moving, steady shrugging those shoulders.
I watched this fight live and was on my feet the entire time. The best 3 rounds of all time Still can't believe it's been almost 40 years.
Your correct I was there had to watch the flying Budweiser beer 🍺 bottle's. Insane!!!!!
I'm 55 years old now😮😅😊😢
Best first round ever!!!! I remember watching it live and being beside myself...
Al Bernstein said Hagler redeemed himself from the loss to Duran. Hagler never lost to Duran.
I was wondering about that...
Yep it sounds like amidst all the excitement Mr. Bernstein got confused and mixed up his middleweights. It was Sugar Ray Leonard who lost to Duran, Marvelous Marvin Hagler beat Duran on points.
I was thinking how TF Hagler lost to Duran. I still even think how TF Leonard lost to Duran.
@@matrox Hagler didn't lose to Duran of course. But don't get it twisted. Roberto Duran was one of the greatest boxers, greatest fighters, who ever laced up the gloves.
@@rudimwongozi2169 Indeed he was.
Best round of action ever. Classic fight
Cómo se extrañan estas peleas, fué una generación sin comparación.
Came here in 2023 to watch a real fight. Respect to the golden ages of boxing 🙏.
Tommy’s physique was remarkable, but more vulnerable to body attack in comparison to Hagler’s compact and durable frame.
That ref had some class footwork lol
Man this fight was brutal Rest in Peace Marvin 🥊
Won't ever see a fight like this again in our lifetime. This has got to me one of the top fights in boxing history.
This is exciting to watch 37 years after it happened, but I wish I could have experienced it then. Imagine all the build up and anticipation for this fight as a fan back then. Then to get those legendary rounds between these legendary fighters. I would’ve been on my feet the entire time. Wether it was in person or in my living room. RIP Hagler.
I remember watching this as a teenager. It was just as you imagined.
@@dondajulah4168 I more than likely saw it or replayed on Wide World of Sports. I watched all the fights then when fighting had greats in all weight classes.
BY FAR the greatest first round ever arguably the greatest round period
Greatest era for boxing - hall of fame fighters in most divisions and some all time fights
There's a long list of great boxers in the history of the sport..... but there's only few in the list that fits to the word GREATEST WARRIOR of the ring ....
And Marvelous Marvin Hagler is one of them.... rest in peace champ.
Absolutely breathtaking! That 1st round is one of the greatest ever in Boxing History!

Thanks for this video
You know a fight is exciting when the commentary is going just as wild as the crowd. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Best 3 rounds of the Century...RIP Marvin Hagler🥊🥊
shocking. phenomenal. extraordinary. thank you!
I can’t believe this was really that long ago… these were some of the best days of boxing…
Definitely. As exciting as the Tyson fights were, they were all pretty "one way" traffic. There wasn't much coming back from his opponents. With Hagler, Hearns, Ray Leonard, and Duran, a lot of the time you just never knew who was going to win. Like Superman v The Incredible Hulk. For me these were far better fights than the Tyson fights. Just saying like.
The greatest Three rounds of boxing of all time, never be beaten.
I doubted any man can presented itself like these two men ever again, this fight is electric. This is and will always be my favourite match. Mad respect to these legend🫡🫡
Listen to the cheering. Everyone knew how special this was. I had this on my big screen with all my friends over, it was crazy. No one went for a beer, no one went to the bathroom. Best fight ever
That was an incredible three rounds at an extremely high level. When the best fought the best more regularly than today. Legends, Hearns and Hagler.
Will never get old
Hard to believe Hagler is gone so early in his life. He was the best conditioned fighter out of Duran, Leonard and Hearns.
he liked to call his training camp "a prison" cause he had nothing else on his mind other than boxing, true athlete and animal
I wish i could have that much muscle mass and be that conditioned man. These men were truly God gifted and had such great work ethic.
@@theoneandonly1440 work ethic: Marvelous Marvin Haggler trained year-round, he was "in camp" whether he had a fight coming up or not. running 20 miles, jumping rope for an hour, and sparring 15 rounds in one day was not extraordinary for him
@@LIONTAMER3D that’s insane man. I would love to be there to witness a full camp with him
Duran never looked muscular fit.
38 years and still the best fight!
