    I've watched this video multiple times when I was a child. Suddenly now, 13 years later it comes up in my recommondations. I completely forgot the beautiful music and the (for that time) really good animations. Its such a nice tribute to a franchise that will always have a place in my heart. Sadly the new Star Trek movies and series doesn't have the soul that these old shows have for me.
    Hopefully it will be once more recommended to me around a decade or so in the future.

    My gosh- I was totally blown away! Very professional! You would make the Great Bird very proud!
    Sometimes we forget that Star Trek is only a t.v. show or movie but to we Trekkies Star Trek is a very real place we can go where all the petty differences that make up the real world no longer exist. My hope is that we as a world can realize that the fictional Star Trek is "The real best hope for the future."(sic) Again, well done!

    Great video. I love it because it expresses (IMO) what Star Trek was supposed to be about. Exploration of space, memorable characters, and the ships they love. After all, it's "T boldly go where no man no one) has gone before." Not "To boldly fight, blow up, and destroy, what no man has before."
    Great music also.

    Desoxyri, very kind words that are greatly appreciated indeed. It was not my inention to debate for ENT, but rather point out that many people saying that the show ignored and altered history is not really so. And my knowledge of Trek comes from the passion I feel for it. And it is always a pleasure to chat with fellow fans about our shared passion.

    Amen with the Manny Coto comment. Although I disagree with the temporal cold war comment. That was the thing I enjoyed most about ENT. And the Xindi story arc had some damn fine moments as well. Brought back memories of DS9 and how Trek is at it's best when it is at it's darkest. And I will not speak for everyone, but the story I most wanted to see from ENT was the Earth/Romulan war.....leading up to the formation of The Federation.

  • @Section31Captain
    @Section31Captain 16 лет назад

    Robert April was the very first name Gene had come up with for Trek. He was to be the Captain of the SS Yorktown. It was later changed to James Winter before eventually decided on Christopher Pike. It was not the fans that decided April is the first Captain. It was Gene himself when he established that April was the first Captain in the TAS episode "The Counter Clock Incident". Although Paramount does not consider TAS as canon, a great deal of fans, including myself do.

    Thanks for the correction. I just never cared about the Enterprise series because the kept altering 30 years of Star Trek history. Originally, as you said, the term NX was used for experimental ships and prototypes like the Defiant NX-74205 and the Prometheus NX-59650.

    That is usually true, but the NX Enterprise was actually from a class of starships called the NX-class. It was mentioned in several ENT episodes. The reason is largely that the NX Enterprise is an Earth Starfleet ship, not a Federation starship. Federation hadn't been established yet.

    Did you watch DS9? When Sisko brought Defiant back to the station he said that Starfleet did not consider The Borg a major threat any longer. What I am suggesting is that Starfleet may have taken that very same approach to The Borg before we first see them in the 24th century.

    @mendezfocus Star Trek's main focus, the 1 hour tv slot, is written in post-operatic drama. Star War's main focus, big screen movie trilogies, is written as operatic fantasy. Other than the fact that both include some story set pieces such as spaceships and aliens. The two series are written different, for different purposes, with different goals and should not be catagorized together. That would be superficial. And I won't. I enjoy both franchises.

    Enterprise was stored at the Smithsonian's hangar at Washington Dulles International Airport before it was restored and moved to the newly-built Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles, where it is the centerpiece of the space collection.

  • @Section31Captain
    @Section31Captain 16 лет назад

    It is not the tastes of Paramount, but rather the "unofficial, official" starship design rules set forth by Roddenberry himself. As far as the darker overall feel, that was created mainly for the movie "First Contact", to give the movie a more ominous touch. They were after all dealling with the Borg. I for one liked the change a great deal. It made Starfleet look more militaristic. And yes, even if some complain about it, Starfleet IS the Federations military.

  • @Section31Captain
    @Section31Captain 16 лет назад

    Q Who is correct.A good example. And Regeneration is actually my favorite Enterprise episode. The department of temporal investigations would have a field day with this one. For the simple fact that we can take First Contact to task for a time paradox in the first place, with Riker and La Forge telling Cochrane about future events. It can be argued that said events lead to an alternate timeline. But I will use my imagination and say this: see next post.....
