No matter how many times I run across this Tribute, I always tear up when, toward the end, Scotty gives a salute to "absent friends" on an empty TOS bridge.
I can't stop returning to this tribute. So heartwarming, capturea essence of Star Trek. Bring me to teara and happiness that I'm glad to have experienced it.
Watching this excellent tribute even after 15yrs still reminds me how good Star Trek can be. The only thing I can think is that the writers and show runners of "modern" trek really should watch this.
The Star Trek franchise has never been and will never be topped. It was a sci-fi show that had lots of exciting action and suspense, yet all of their storylines were thorough and complex, which made for great television and movies. Star Trek wasn't just about the action- it was about how a small group of people can work together to accomplish magnificent things, and in the while create magnificent memories.
Scotty: "Here's to ya laddies." Complete respect to all series up to when this video was made. Like remembering a family. Garak, Rand, Barclay, and Naomi are part of that family.
Every time I watch this... I just can't watch it without tearing up. It doesn't happen. It doesn't even take me that long, I start right when the Guardian speaks. That's just how powerful this is.
Of course it does :) these are so very dear friends that no longer explore the universe with us. The memories are no less fond though :) and we will ALWAYS have that
What a fitting tribute to one of the most celebrated franchises in entertainment history. Who knew that when TOS was cancelled in 1969 that it would spawn 4 series and 11 movies.....Way to go, Gene. You made a masterpiece.
What a great franchise, so many great memories but sad that so many have left us and the travesty that was the new star trek movie will never be forgotten or forgiven
I’m crying watching this, no not sadness but happiness. This Show, this series is, and has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It will always be part of my life.
wow... I had no idea there was an orchestral version of the 'inner light' flute solo! This has got to be a landmark composition for trek music... no for classical music in general! This was so beautiful it nearly brought a tear to my eye! This is going in my music rotation permanently!
While I am admittedly a solid fan of the Star Wars franchise, there's something that has got to be said about Star Trek and Trekkie fandom. There are just episodes such as The Inner Light that just hits spots of emotion. It's absolutely fantastic. Much much much respect to this long-lasting franchise and journey across the universe. Live long and prosper.
For years I have watched this video and this is still the most amazing tribute for the most amazing TV franchise of all-time :) All these great characters through out the years. The chronological representation of them in this video is such an amazing attention to detail.
I still watch this every now and then. Usually when I’m going through a rough spot. It helps to see the old childhood heroes. That scene where scotty salutes his absent friends with a drink never fails to move me. I hope you keep this video up for many more years.
It's something like the creation of Star Trek that truly inspires imagination and curiosity in so many of us. Gene Roddenberry will live on in his truly ingenious creation. May Star Trek always live long and prosper.
Beautiful! Makes me long for the days when we just had the Prime Universe. No Kelvin and no whatever Discovery is. I'm currently reliving 2006 by way of movies and TV shows, and I'm coming up on the 40th anniversary and the premiere of the remastered original series.
I have loved this show in all it's incarnations since I began watching the first series as an adolescent. It was truly visionary, and an apt vehicle for dreams. This is a fitting tribute!
This is simply the finest video I've ever seen on this site. Beautifully edited, the music breaks your heart. If Paramount had the brains God gave a gerbil this would be on every Star Trek disc they sold. It is magnificent.
I have to say ENTERPRISENX01, that is one of the finest tributes to ANYTHING that I have ever seen here on RUclips. It makes you want to watch all these series even if you haven't bought into the whole 'Star Trek' thing! Awesome! and a brilliant upload!
I love the music! This was the simple tune Cpt. Picard played on his flute. I saw Patrick in a play in Atlanta where he played violin with the Atlanta Symphony. Other "TNG" cast members were in the play too. Very enjoyable as well.
Love this tribute. Nicely put together with the best background music. Brings back the idea of why so many Star Trek fans liked/loved the various aspects of the Star Trek universe. Looking forward to whatever comes out next on a television network is any.
I love watching this video from time to time since it was first posted. I first watched it shortly after being hired for my first professional gig. Doing that officially crossed me over from being a student to being a professional. Star Trek was a HUGE part of my childhood and impacted my life in more ways than I can count. Seeing this video reminds me of the childhood that I have since left behind, but reminds me of all of the enjoyment that came with it. Thank-you so much for posting this.
There are tears in my eyes every time I watch this, it is simply beautiful, especially at the moment we see Picard on the bridge as the music changes. Star Trek Lives!
Excellent video. I come back and watch it every now and then. I too get teary eyed, right about when you start seeing the "crossovers" of the crews meeting each other/being on each other's ship.
What a perfect 40th Anniversary Video every time I watch it, it gives me warm and fuzzy feelings inside. I think it's because of the images and how they where put together coupled with the music that makes it perfect.
watching this just tugs at the heart strings music and visuals working together in harmony. Bringing back memories from when it first appeared on tv .Enjoy enjoy enjoy fans
Star Wars is a space opera. Star Trek is a vision of our world where "The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force of our lives. We work to better ourselves and the rest of humanity."
That moment where scotty toasts his old friends...I too tear up everytime...As well as when kirk and spock step out of the gateway, and they flash to kirk looking up at the stars; reminds me of the 25th anniversary clip: "Ever since early man first looked up at the night sky, he has dreamed of venturing far among the heavens...
WOW! That is one of the best Trek tribute montages I've ever scene. The music is beautiful and the clips unforgettable. For all my fellow Trek geeks everywhere, thanks for a wonderful trip down memory lane.
There are probably several other comments from me buried on here, but I just keep coming back to this every few months because it is the most superb Trek tribute ever made. With blu-rays, new films and the 50th anniversary coming up, will EnterpriseNX01 top himself?
Wow !!! I love this video tribute to Star Trek. Thanks for uploading this in higher resolution version. This is my favorite RUclips video period and seeing it in even better resolution is even more awesome. Happy 45th Anniversary Star Trek !!!!
I have just one word for this .... WOW! As one who has seen ALL the Star Treks (including the 1970's animated series which Paramount refused to acknowledge for the longest time).
I'm doing some research for a tribute video of my own and I happened to find this. You have really set the bar high! Excellent video :) The part where Kirk entered the bridge from the turbolift and faded out when Scotty entered from the holodeck entrance... WOW! I just don't know what to say, that was beautiful. Very touching.
Great tribute, particularly like the scene from Starship Mine at 3:14 where Picard feels the rail on the bridge and smiles - finally, he's accepted the Enterprise-D (over the Stargazer).
I still tear up everytime at 6:14 when you see the old enterprise crew laughing, then it flashes to the future and and Old Scotty raises his glass in toast to friends long gone and memories as fresh as yesterday....
It's sad that this is a far, _far_ better tribute than the official one CBS made for the 50th. But then again CBS/Paramount couldn't give less of a shit about _Star Trek_ while the fans have kept it alive for five decades.
Beautiful , the storylines in Star Trek were amazing , and the battle and alien interplay studied by Army generals . A lot of would ifs , brought a dream , into a large portfolio of what to do if . Sometimes you don't have to be asleep to dream ? When you see the Enterprise on course and at slow movement , your dreaming .
No matter how many times I run across this Tribute, I always tear up when, toward the end, Scotty gives a salute to "absent friends" on an empty TOS bridge.
Amen to that, Relics is such an amazing episode
Aye sir 🖖
Message from the future. It still hits hard here in 2022.
Agreed it always hits you in ‘Relics’
There is nothing sadder than Scottie toasting the empty bridge of the 1701.
Agreed, was the end of an era.
well Bones send off to TNG comes very close
If only we heard his toast “Well here’s to ya lads…”
No bloody A, B, C or D
So true!
I can't stop returning to this tribute. So heartwarming, capturea essence of Star Trek. Bring me to teara and happiness that I'm glad to have experienced it.
Same 🖖🏼❤🖖🏼
even as we have passed the 50th year and we are six away from the 60th... Still come back to this one... Even have this on my ITunes now.
Watching this excellent tribute even after 15yrs still reminds me how good Star Trek can be. The only thing I can think is that the writers and show runners of "modern" trek really should watch this.
I couldn't agree more scott mate

The best Trek Tribute I have found on the Net. Love this one.
Late 2018 representing! 12 years later and this is still the best trek tribute/summary vid
2024 here and you're still 100%correct!
@@dgault01I'm still here in 2024 and heck yes I am! :)
Rip Gene Roddenberry we will never forget you and the wonderful vision you've given us of a better future.
Scotty: "Here's to ya laddies."

Agree Soundwave...this is the best tribute I have ever seen of Star Trek in all its glory. I still tear up seeing it.
Every time I watch this... I just can't watch it without tearing up. It doesn't happen. It doesn't even take me that long, I start right when the Guardian speaks. That's just how powerful this is.
I'm right there with you! There's something so comforting about it all...
This anniversary tribute deserves an anniversary of its own. :D
I don't think you could ever have a more beautifully fitting tribute to the Star Trek universe.🌝🌝🌝🌝🌝
literal tears. I love Star Trek above all other shows and movies and I will never love a show more than Star Trek. Live Long and Prosper.
The ultimate tribute. I wish someday someone would add latest Trek series to the list. They also deserve akcnowldgement.
THIS IS Star Trek - in a way the reboots and rehashes just don't get...
Still watching in 2022. I loved this video years ago. Life is worthless without Star Trek.
Hart to see what they have done to StarTrek!
This makes me cry ever time I watch it! I love Star Trek! This is so well done.
Of course it does :) these are so very dear friends that no longer explore the universe with us. The memories are no less fond though :) and we will ALWAYS have that
that we will!
What a fitting tribute to one of the most celebrated franchises in entertainment history. Who knew that when TOS was cancelled in 1969 that it would spawn 4 series and 11 movies.....Way to go, Gene. You made a masterpiece.
Young Kirk fading out to Old Scotty on the bridge....right in the feels.
I never grow tired of watching this.
;)
A timeless and tribute to the glory that was.
Cried my eyes out. Emotional moment after moment. Picard on bridge of Ent D alone really got me.
This is the star trek i remember...
This is the star trek i will never forget.
Star trek has always been that of elegance, and this video certainly brings new meaning to that.
What a great franchise, so many great memories but sad that so many have left us and the travesty that was the new star trek movie will never be forgotten or forgiven
I can't make it through this damn thing without tearing up... ENTERPRISENX01, your'e the best. Thanks again.
Enterprise. The most underrated show of all time.
I’m crying watching this, no not sadness but happiness. This Show, this series is, and has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It will always be part of my life.
😉
Here watching again in 2024
Same here. Always coming back to this one for First Contact Day and Star Trek Day. :D
There are actual tears in my eyes. This tribute is so wonderful!!
That was the most beautiful tribute video I've ever seen.

One of the finest Tribute videos bar none, whether sanctioned/produced by Paramount or by fans. Well done indeed.

I agree with you..I get a little choked up every time I see that.
Rest in peace Leonard Nimoy, He was a great person.. :´c
Sadly, I'm too late for the 50th anniversary and too early for the 60th, but I'll be here again on September 8, 2026!
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Star Trek is better than Star Wars.
couldn't agree more !
+Kevin Loesch Star Wars is mindless play with lightsabers. Star Trek is profound, gives you something to think about.
Star Wars is a space opera. Star Trek is a vision of our world where "The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force of our lives. We work to better ourselves and the rest of humanity."
yep
I love em both. Sometimes I have a Trek Phase, sometimes a Wars Phase.

C'mon paramount and tptb, bring Trek back, on television where it belongs!
Just saw your comment and I'm curious how you feel about the new Trek shows since you first posted this 🙂
Simply beautiful. The perfect match of image and music to celebrate all that is trek. STAR TREK LIVES!

I have just one word for this .... WOW! As one who has seen ALL the Star Treks (including the 1970's animated series which Paramount refused to acknowledge for the longest time).

Why did it take me 15 years to find this Glorious video.
You can never be late with this one. :)
star trek forever ....
Picard's flute solo. A beautiful peice of music
We will go boldly! Second star to the right and straight on into the morning
This the song we walked down the aisle to at our wedding.
The Star Trek I know and love...and hopefully, with Strange New Worlds, it shall be that again
It never gets old.
I hope a version 4 is being planned for the 2026 60th Anniversary.Lots more Star Trek to draw from :)
Watching in 2019, still amazing vid
Absolutely :')

This video shines, because it's Prime.
A fine tribute to all things STAR TREK.
