Although humans are generally considered a weaker species than Klingon, it must be noted that their rural caste known as Farmers can be extremely dangerous when encountered. A great trailer except "Kira" is the family name listed first as per Bajoran custom. Her first name is Nerys.

    • @Traxx147
      @Traxx147 6 лет назад +2

      Joe Sweeney That is correct but the names are just listed like they would be written and bajorian family names come before first names.

      Glad we don't have to figure out T'Pol's last or family name. Seeing this and hearing that Jolene Blalock and John Billingsley don't want to do another series themselves, maybe they'd consent to doing a movie? Manny Coto and maybe Mike Susskind should do it, not Kurtzman or Brannon and Braga.

    Very well-done. I would NOT have left out the JJ-verse. That worked-in just fine. I am also glad you included the Discovery clip. Nicely-done. I am not one to turn my nose up at any Star Trek Universe. I glommed on to the idea that there may just be countless alternate universes, where events unfold differently, and people look a bit different from our experience in this Universe. This was very good. It left out nothing; it ignored nothing. Thank you for that.

      in the future, discovery is.....possible, but not in the past of TOS: the problem is that Kurtzmann expressed that it was the timeline prime: 10 years before TOS, so full in the Canon other series (and Romans/Comics).
      So since Season 2 seems to be talking about time changes related to the Red Angels, if they have an ounce of intelligence, this event will create an alternative timeline (Dis Timeline), which is the most logical.
      ENT and its war time, for me, was of this ilk, Voyager was also in this idea (I put TNG / DS9-VOY / ENT-Kelvin Timeline / Dis Timeline: what I think fits best: as the extended universe seems to be related to a Quantum multiverse)

    • @infinidiv
      @infinidiv  3 года назад +1

      I think that with a 50+ year franchise there was never a chance they were going to make it all work. Already things stated in the original series didn’t work always together… but I have to agree that Discovery made some choices that overcomplicate the situation. Here’s to hoping that the writers are far enough from the chaos of season 1 that we can get to focusing on what really works in that and parallel shows.

    * TRAILER (PROMOTION) -- DEFINITION: Trailers consist of a series selected shots from the film being advertised. Since the purpose of the trailer is to attract an audience to the film, these excerpts are usually drawn from the most exciting, funny, or otherwise noteworthy parts of the film but in abbreviated form and usually without producing spoilers. For this purpose the scenes are not necessarily in the order in which they appear in the film. A trailer has to achieve that in less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds, the maximum length allowed by the MPAA.

    • @infinidiv
      @infinidiv  6 лет назад +3

      Average length of a movie around 110min. A 2min trailer is 1.8% of that. At 700+ episodes and 11 movies we are talking about 29.000+ min of video. 1.8% of that is 522min or 8.7hours. So I think 20min is acceptable 😁 You’re welcome! 😉

      Well that was the whole point right? No matter ho far we get in our knowledge, we can’t predict the future or make judgment calls except for our own group. It wasn’t perfect, but it is what “leads to” the prime directive. So pretty important either way, and if we followed this philosophy today, we might be screwing up less on the planet today!

      Thank you for your comment, Angel on Fire. I really believe that, too. People just judge and spit on JJ, on Discovery, and never really bother to give the newer, alternate material a chance. This is the same way Star Trek was treated, even back in the 60s, when it was first cancelled. There is a long history of maltreatment. I, for one, truly enjoyed this video splicing. I am glad EVERYONE got counted. That is what Star Tek, historically, has been about.

And, well… Discovery we still have to see, Voyager is the most replayed Trek on Netflix, and the Kelvin timeline (as nonsensical as that term is) started alright with ’09 (we’ll just ignore STID) and brought in a whole new generation of fans. And just so no one can say this wasn’t geeky enough… infinite diversity in infinite combinations baby! :D

      What? I don't know what that is an answer to... but considering that one of the biggest tenants of Star Trek is IDIC, I would say we can all be happy that Star Trek is able to keep its core philosophy through 50 years of a world that has changed immensely. Not without slip-ups mind you... but the last episode of DSC shows the writers and producers and actors get it. How well it works out in the end is still open, but I'm more optimistic than ever!
