Back when Wraith of Khan was originally released to theaters, the moment Spock got up from his seat, during the Genesis scene, I began to weep, because I knew he was about to sacrifice himself.
There's just one problem with that reversing seen you hear the sound alarm about the doors being closed with an echo as if it's being broadcast in that area however the area would be a vacuum and therefore the sound wouldn't carry, and of course being a vacuum there would be no one there to hear it anyway. Lol
The greatest 8 minutes in any science fiction movie was the Stealing of the Enterprise from Star Trek III. There are so many good elements to use there, from Uhura's interaction with "Mr. Adventure" (that's his name in the credits) to the Excelsior stalling out and failing to achieve transwarp, it is my all time favorite. I love some other movies as a whole far, far more, but this one sequence summons what the Crew of the Enterprise truly were, and why their adventures were so good. They were family and nothing was more important to them than each other.
Frickin classic scene. Well put. I was fortunate to be a rich brat and had Star Trek III on laserdisc with surround sound on a Sony Profile TV and we played that scene to death. Big win here though is the fabulous James Horner soundtrack - he fucking nailed it. 👌
2nd greatest tho IMHO. Gotta give #1 , the greatest 10 minutes in SCI-FI history to the reliant inital attack. The entire fight in the nebula is amazing as well
@@luvmenow33 Ah, this will be a matter of opinion of course! I loved that too. But it was the music for the Stealing of the Enterprise that was the topper. It was so well fitted to the scenes and events that it swept you up and didn't have you questioning too much about what was happening, just that it was a heck of a ride! I saw both II and III in the theaters as a kid which was awesome.
Funniest moment for me was Scotty trying to use the computer in ST IV: The Voyage Home. When they tell him to use the mouse after he was giving it voice commands, he picks it up like it's a microphone and talks into it.
For all the great moments in Wrath of Khan, my favorite is still when he pops up behind Khan's ship after anticipating his attack pattern... just a glorious moment in strategy and tactics.
Yes indeed. They sort of repeated that scene in the First new Star Trek movie as well, when Enterprise Rises up out of the Rings of Saturn, and then again in the second new movie when it rises up out of the clouds on Earth.
I'm biased, on account of, y'know, Star Trek Fan. But the TOS movies had some of the greatest orchestral soundtracks ever made. Wrath of Khan in particular.
I always liked that scene. He did have badass moments but he always seemed to have a different gentler attitude. Here we see him as a battle hardened captain, taking risks boldly with strong presence and authority...making this scene (the last minute rescue) extra badass
TheDude Sulu and the crew had been in combat against extreme odds many times. Sulu knows what matters is not equipment, not even the ship, but the people. Save lives. Leave no one behind. Get the job done. That's leadership.
Personally I think nothing in First Contact beats Picards "The line must be drawn here" speech. Also the Photo of the old crew scene in Beyond was very subtle yet powerful.
I think it is his best moment. Sadly, the film itself is a misfire overall. I even wrote a letter to Paramount with a list of issues I had with the film. They did respond but it sounded like something a politician would say and totally condescending. Needless to say it was the last time I watched a Star Trek film. Such hypocrites.
The Beyond scene...I don't know whats more hysterical, the fact that they're playing Beastie Boyz's song Sabotage or that they call it "classical music" XD
Oddly and interestingly, that scene "Fly her apart then!" was parodied in the Disney animated series TailSpin when Baloo overused the SeaDuck's engine's turbo chargers and burned them out to make it back to Cape Suzette in the pilot episode with his line "Come on baby! Hold together!" literally indirectly but intentionally referencing Sulu's command to Fly Her Apart by literally almost flying the SeaDuck apart. Famous Star Trek scenes were often used as references for many TV shows and movies of various types to form a solid basis to work from.

Been too long since I've seen these movies but my favorite scene was the one with the Borg (I think) when Worf was trying to convince Captain Picard to abandon ship and Picard called Worf a coward. Worf: "If you were any other man I would kill you where you stand."
Stealing the Enterprise is my all time favorite, they managed to make the sci-fi equivalent of backing your car out of the garage a truly epic suspenseful and powerful sequence.
To think it all started in 1966 on a Thursday evening at 8:30 on NBC. I watched every week never missing a show and when I heard about it being cancelled the second season, I was one of many who wrote in, sending several letters pleading to save the show. I was heartbroken when it was finally cancelled after NBC put it on at 10:00 pm on a Friday evening. Then the reruns began several years later....and it hasn't stopped yet. Greatest show that ever was or ever will be.

We all owe you and the other letter writers a huge debt of gratitude. If the show had been cancelled after two seasons, there would have been no syndication, no novels, no movies, no TNG and all the rest. You should have 10, 000 thumbs up.
I was only in preschool when TOS first aired, but I remember loving it even at that age. I've always found it interesting that Lost in Space was also being produced at the time and seemed geared more for my age at the time, I hated that show but loved Star Trek which was much more "adult" for its time.

Well i loved the look on Riker's face when he said "Fire", and then the look on Lursa and B'Etor's faces when they realized what just happened. In Generations. That was my favorite scene in that movie.

I have often used the phrase "You have to know why things work on a starship" to describe how I find solutions in the horribly complex computer system I work on.
Kirk asking the crew to 'remember where we parked'. ST IV had most of the best lines and it was suitable that the funny one was directed by Nimoy. One thing I didn't realise was that Nimoy directed '3 Men and a Baby' straight afterwards.
I think for Wrath of Khan, it's got to be either the first encounter with the Reliant, or Shatner & Nimoy with the death of Spock. The latter scene is so incredibly well done that I _still_, 36 years after the fact and knowing Spock comes back in the next movie, can't get through it without shedding a tear.
I always thought John Williams scored the best film soundtracks, but James Horner was a very close second. "Stealing the Enterprise" and "Battle In The Mutara Nebula" are two examples.

Montablan loved doing it, too. It took him a little bit to get into character, but he nailed the "f" out of it. He was in a movie long ago singing " Baby, it's cold Outside"...you talk about a seductive scene...he was a master...google it...you will be suprised.

I’ll admit, that opening of Star Trek 2009 brought a tear to my eye. And so the idea that the next movie COULD have been about Kirk and his father would have been really nice, I think. Alas, I guess it won’t be happening, ever.
in TMP- the 1st 15 minutes with the Klingons vs v'ger was the best part. We got to see not just a new photon torpedo design, but a now iconic energy enveloping that battle cruiser. This effect was later used by an energizer batteries commercial.
TMP: Not a bad choice. I also like Spock's journey to mind meld with V'Ger 2: Hard to pick a single best scene, but mine would be the sending of the Reliant command codes and lowering her shields remotely and sending Khan into retreat. 3: Entering destruct codes and death of the Enterprise. There is no other choice. 4: Reveal of Enterprise-A "We've come home." 5: Good choice. Also "What does....GOD...need with a starship?" 6: There is no other choice. Generations: Good choice... should've included Data's "Ohhhh shit!" Insurrection: Correct choice. First Contact: Good choice. Prefer Picard's Ahab moment, though. "The line must be drawn HERE!" Nemesis: The whole battle is awesome. I really enjoy the arrival of Donatra's warbirds though. 2009: Good choice. My preference is the "FIRE EVERYTHING!!" moment with nu-Spock and the arrival of Enterprise with phasers blazing. The music cue is baller there. Into Darkness: Spock Prime breaking his personal rule in order to tell nu-Spock about Khan. Beyond: The reveal of Spock Prime's "family photo". I wept like a child in the theater. I ain't too proud to admit it.
You are not incorrect. I just like the moment of realization on Picard's face when he suddenly understands that Donatra on the Valdore and the other warbird are there to HELP him against Shinzon and not finish the Enterprise off.
The best moment in star trek 4 is the end? Are you nuts, I could name 10 that are better! 1. Nuclear wessels 2. Use the damn keyboard 3 you like Italian 4 stocks meld with gracie, and the look on kirk's face. 5 everybody remember where we parked. 6. The time travel scene. 7. The trial and subsequent equivalent. 8. The bus scene. 9. Colourful metaphors 10. No I'm from Iowa, I only work in outer space.
1) I never liked the wormhole scene. The video submitter edited it so that it's actually watchable, in the movie it just drags on way too long, like every other scene in that movie. I wouldn't have gotten rid of any (or at least, not many) sequences from TMP, but every shot in the movie was held just a tiny bit too long and could have been clipped a bit more to help the whole thing flow faster and better. IMO, the best scene in the movie is the launching of the Enterprise. It's an uptempo version of the TMP theme, one of the best musical pieces written for all of Star Trek. Really, the music saved this movie, in as much as it was ever saved. The launching scene is the only one filling you with that Star Trek feeling, and the only one that doesn't drag on and wear out its welcome. 2) I totally agree, uploading Reliant commands followed by "Kirk's Explosive Reply." Though I actually have a weird soft soft for the Genesis Cave, and the Genesis video. 3) Agree. Destruction of the Enterprise. 4) "We've come home" is good. But so are the scenes where Chekov is interrogated by the Navy, and Chekov's rescue. 5) Not a lot to choose from here, this was a decent choice, as much as the special effects in this movie were a step down from 2,3,4. 6) Not a bad choice, but the first firing on the Chancellor's ship followed by Kirk's "We surrender" is a nice runner-up. Generations) This whole section of the movie was good. The battle with the Klingon ship was also good, if nonsensical. Not much else in this movie was worth it. First Contact) Good choice, but I would also have preferred Picard's Line Speech. Insurrection) This was the only good scene in the whole damn movie. Nemesis) I suppose if we have to pick a "best" scene from a movie full of bad ones, it would be this. The movie's only impressive moment. 2009) Agree with all Roy Stephen's choices! Into Darkness) Good choice, also the scene where Khan kills Carol's father. Beyond) I keep meaning to see this one.
Star Trek has a way of doing that to you. Especially when I watch the original movies 1-6. I feel like a kid again, just really well written adventure, and characters you care about.
I remember seeing Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) at a convetion and she was bemoaning in her usual style the fact that the ONLY two times she is given a chance to steer the ship, both times she crashes it! On reviewing this I found it even more amusing that Picard actually calls her Deanna and not Troi as if guiding a daughter in reversing off the drive!
The Captain Sulu line is the theme of the entire movie series. Willing to die just to rescue your friends who have rescued you. The best scene out of them all.

the scene in 2009 when George rams the ship. His extreme love for his family gave him no choice but sacrifice his life for those he loves. Good men must do horrible things in order for other to sleep peacefully at night. tears every time.
The one doesn't really track with the other. George is sacrificing himself so his family and other crew might escape. The quote you reference is how awful things are done at need in order to protect others but what George did was not horrorible in the eyes of his own side, which I believe was the context that the quote evoked. But that's nitpicking. That scene is powerful.
Oh no... it couldn't possibly be a whaler... "It's just a research vessel" ;)I'd rate that scene as one of the best (funniest) sci-fi scenes ever... just watching a Harpoon bounce.. and the reaction of the crew as the Bird of Prey de-cloaks
Even though I disagree with a few of these, I love that you put this together. My picks are: The Motion Picture: Kirk's shuttle approach to the Enterprise. Fantastic music paired with the kind of glory shots of the ship that you just don't see anymore in Star Trek. The Wrath of Khan: We agree on this one. So much edge-of-your-seat tension on the tail end of a hard-fought battle. The Search for Spock: We agree on this one too. I loved the entire ship heist sequence from start to finish. The Voyage Home: There are so many great moments in this movie, but your choice stands out as my favorite as well. The Final Frontier: For me, the best scene hands-down is the one in which Sybok is getting McCoy and Spock to face their inner emotional pain. McCoy's is especially powerful (and very well acted by DeForest Kelley and Laurence Luckinbill). The Undiscovered Country: There are a couple of quiet moments that I really like (Spock with Valeris early in the film and Spock with Kirk late in the film), but the scene you chose is my favorite too for its sheer awesomeness. Generations: We agree here too. Probably the second-best Enterprise destruction scene in Star Trek history (after the scene in Star Trek III). First Contact: I really enjoyed the stuff with Zephram Cochrane. My favorite scene is the one in which Riker walks in on Cochrane and Troi getting drunk together. Insurrection: Just for the beautiful music, my favorite scene is the one that opens the film. Nemesis: We agree on this one. It was a very "Kirk" thing for Picard to do, but it worked well. Star Trek: From the acting to the visuals to the music, that scene with George Kirk's sacrifice was beautifully done. Star Trek Into Darkness: My favorite scene is the one in which Kirk is shocked into humility when Admiral Marcus's ship overtakes and threatens to destroy the Enterprise. I was a nice moment of growth for Kirk. Star Trek Beyond: I'm partial to the scene in which Krall is explaining his motivations to Kirk. It was a nice callback to Star Trek: Enterprise.
Dang good job! You managed to include most if not all of the Star Trek franchise. I'm glad you did say by your own choice which makes it a personal selection. I tend to put mine into what made me laugh the loudest and cry the hardest and what rare moments that just made me think. But that's Star Trek. That's what it does. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, and everything in between. But, to me, the best thing is it gives you hope and something to dream for. That certain sense of Enterprise.
I loved that scene from Star Trek 3! Stealing the Enterprise from space dock... Scotty had sabotaged Excelsior... The doors opening up just in the nick of time... Classic!
I don't understand why some consider this one of the bad movies. Maybe just because it's an odd numbered one and people like patterns. Anyway, I think it has a good balance of drama, tragedy,, tension, humor, and adventure. And the story shows what Kirk will do for Spock. As Edith Keeler says about Spock in relation to Kirk, "you, by his side...."

It's absolutely a worthy addition to the Star Trek Canon, and not in the same category as the overly silly Final Frontier (What does God need with a starship? To hightail it from Uhura's fan dance, duh) or the dull Generations or the just uninspired and unfortunate Insurrection and Nemesis.
I don't necessarily agree with your choice for Khan. I think it's just before that where they're going into the Nebula and you watch how Kirk strategically positions his ship to be right behind it after dropping down "3 dimensional thinking" that was better.
Murray I agree with you. I grew up back in the early 80's and I'm more of a Star Wars fan than Trek. However Wrath of Khan was amazing! From the opening scene where his men put the Ceti eel in Chekovs helmet to the scene you mentioned to the ending which made you cry. However the best part of the scene you mentioned was the score in the background.Once the Enterprise drops down and the attack is on that music is awesome.
My favorite scene is "Wrath of Kahn": "You're looking at the only Starfleet cadet to ever beat the no win scenario." Then Kirk whips out the communicator and "Spock it's been to hours".

Nemesis was probably my favorite of the TNG movies. The ramming scene was a really good element the writers finally used after teasing it several times over ST's TV and movie canon.
@@joesweat8744 My guess is people disliked Nemesis because it used the stealing-Picard's-humanity in-universe trope, but possibly also because not much is said about the Romulans in relation to the Remans beside the former enslaving the latter. The partnering up of Enterprise with the Romulans to fight the Scimitar also came off - to me - as a bit too easy and convenient for the plot. It felt like Picard and the Romulan captain had run into each other at an old watering hole they both used to frequent, and wouldn't you know it, a bar fight breaks out and they happily jump into the fray with an oh-this-again jovial eyeroll. A good space battle sequence overall since it was a significant portion of the movie, but when you watch it it has the same effect as Data saying "to hell with our orders"...it's been done in ST before like trilithium and time travel, so there needed to be more creativity put into the prelude. Also, perhaps the story could have been even better if Shinzon had started terrorizing a few planets with his super-ship, or freeing other local slave races and injecting some ethical dilemma into the proceedings. But if one doesn't spend too much time thinking hard about it, it's one of the better TNG movies.
Stealing the Enterprise in Star Trek III was epic. Best scene from any Star Trek film. 2nd place goes to the Star Trek II scene you have where Spock sacrifices his life so the Enterprise can escape.
Of all the missed opportunities in this Universe, a George Takei / Sulu series tops the list. I would've gladly given up Voyager for a Sulu series. Not only did the character deserve it, but George was always the most stand-out actor among the secondary cast. As an actor, he deserved it as well.
I agree with the list except the first Chris Pine Star Trek, my favorite scene is when young Spock was going to crash the Vulcan ship with the red matter into Romulan ship and the Romulans fired on him and Enterprise warped in and took out the missiles so Spock could complete the mission
Watching this video, I realized that betwen 1982 and 1998, there was a Star Trek movie released every 2 years. This really was the Golden Age of Star Trek. I am so glad I got to grow up in this era of Star Trek.
As much as Voyage Home is my favorite of the films, it is still funny how they changed the entire Bird of Prey bridge set and thought no one would notice. Then there's Scotty wearing the white shirt instead of the brown he had in the previous movie. But then, things seem to change inexplicably with every movie, lol
Only to a degree, because all the signage is still in Klingon, as are the displays. You'd think re-programming would be far quicker than rebuilding from the inside-out.
Great compilation , Really enjoyed it ! Funny thing, You can actually listen to this without watching it or while "surfing the net" , Because all the scenes play like "Music" now because we are so familiar with them. Ever notice that some movies can "sound" like an "album" ? It's kinda like putting on "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. It's ingrained in our memory. Awesome, Thanks !
I liked when Worf and the Capt went at it in First Contact and Into the Darkness was DEFINATELY when Spock screamed "KAHN!!!!" then went after him to save Kirk.
Well, the second time was intentional... though Worf should have pulled out his “Perhaps today IS a good day to die! Prepare for RAMMING SPEED” line from First Contact again.

Oddly and interestingly, that scene "Fly her apart then!" was parodied in the Disney animated series TailSpin when Baloo overused the SeaDuck's engine's turbo chargers and burned them out to make it back to Cape Suzette in the pilot episode with his line "Come on baby! Hold together!" literally indirectly but intentionally referencing Sulu's command to Fly Her Apart by literally almost flying the SeaDuck apart.

Been too long since I've seen these movies but my favorite scene was the one with the Borg (I think) when Worf was trying to convince Captain Picard to abandon ship and Picard called Worf a coward. Worf: "If you were any other man I would kill you where you stand."
That was a really good scene. And Picard reciting Moby Dick as he realizes he’s become Ahab with the Borg as his Moby Dick.

Stealing the Enterprise is my all time favorite, they managed to make the sci-fi equivalent of backing your car out of the garage a truly epic suspenseful and powerful sequence.
That is a good scene from Wrath of Khan, but the best scene, and best scene from any Star Trek movie, is Kirk's eulogy for Spock.
No doubt “stealing the Enterprise” was one of the great moments from ST: III; never get tired of watching that scene! The music was just pure golden!

To think it all started in 1966 on a Thursday evening at 8:30 on NBC. I watched every week never missing a show and when I heard about it being cancelled the second season, I was one of many who wrote in, sending several letters pleading to save the show. I was heartbroken when it was finally cancelled after NBC put it on at 10:00 pm on a Friday evening. Then the reruns began several years later....and it hasn't stopped yet. Greatest show that ever was or ever will be.

I was only in preschool when TOS first aired, but I remember loving it even at that age. I've always found it interesting that Lost in Space was also being produced at the time and seemed geared more for my age at the time, I hated that show but loved Star Trek which was much more "adult" for its time.

Well i loved the look on Riker's face when he said "Fire", and then the look on Lursa and B'Etor's faces when they realized what just happened. In Generations. That was my favorite scene in that movie.

Kirk asking the crew to 'remember where we parked'. ST IV had most of the best lines and it was suitable that the funny one was directed by Nimoy. One thing I didn't realise was that Nimoy directed '3 Men and a Baby' straight afterwards.

I think for Wrath of Khan, it's got to be either the first encounter with the Reliant, or Shatner & Nimoy with the death of Spock. The latter scene is so incredibly well done that I _still_, 36 years after the fact and knowing Spock comes back in the next movie, can't get through it without shedding a tear.
I like seeing the Enterprise fire the Nacell off the Reliant in the Mutara battle
I always thought John Williams scored the best film soundtracks, but James Horner was a very close second. "Stealing the Enterprise" and "Battle In The Mutara Nebula" are two examples.
Every time I saw a Plymouth Reliant in the 80's I would whistle the Khan approach music. Was funny every time.

Montablan loved doing it, too. It took him a little bit to get into character, but he nailed the "f" out of it. He was in a movie long ago singing " Baby, it's cold Outside"...you talk about a seductive scene...he was a master...google it...you will be suprised.
I love the way Khan is clearly seething with anger and hatred, but he (almost) always speaks in a controlled way.

in TMP- the 1st 15 minutes with the Klingons vs v'ger was the best part. We got to see not just a new photon torpedo design, but a now iconic energy enveloping that battle cruiser. This effect was later used by an energizer batteries commercial.
One of my favorite scenes is when they were attacking Wharfs ship and he yells out..."Prepare for ramming speed!!!"

2: Hard to pick a single best scene, but mine would be the sending of the Reliant command codes and lowering her shields remotely and sending Khan into retreat.
3: Entering destruct codes and death of the Enterprise. There is no other choice.
4: Reveal of Enterprise-A "We've come home."
5: Good choice. Also "What does....GOD...need with a starship?"
6: There is no other choice.
Generations: Good choice... should've included Data's "Ohhhh shit!"

First Contact: Good choice. Prefer Picard's Ahab moment, though. "The line must be drawn HERE!"
Nemesis: The whole battle is awesome. I really enjoy the arrival of Donatra's warbirds though.
2009: Good choice. My preference is the "FIRE EVERYTHING!!" moment with nu-Spock and the arrival of Enterprise with phasers blazing. The music cue is baller there.
Into Darkness: Spock Prime breaking his personal rule in order to tell nu-Spock about Khan.
Beyond: The reveal of Spock Prime's "family photo". I wept like a child in the theater. I ain't too proud to admit it.
Roy Stephens the best Nemesis scene would be that full spread phaser array fire at elevation 0 followed by some sexy torpedos
You are not incorrect. I just like the moment of realization on Picard's face when he suddenly understands that Donatra on the Valdore and the other warbird are there to HELP him against Shinzon and not finish the Enterprise off.

1) I never liked the wormhole scene. The video submitter edited it so that it's actually watchable, in the movie it just drags on way too long, like every other scene in that movie. I wouldn't have gotten rid of any (or at least, not many) sequences from TMP, but every shot in the movie was held just a tiny bit too long and could have been clipped a bit more to help the whole thing flow faster and better.
IMO, the best scene in the movie is the launching of the Enterprise. It's an uptempo version of the TMP theme, one of the best musical pieces written for all of Star Trek. Really, the music saved this movie, in as much as it was ever saved. The launching scene is the only one filling you with that Star Trek feeling, and the only one that doesn't drag on and wear out its welcome.
2) I totally agree, uploading Reliant commands followed by "Kirk's Explosive Reply." Though I actually have a weird soft soft for the Genesis Cave, and the Genesis video.
3) Agree. Destruction of the Enterprise.
4) "We've come home" is good. But so are the scenes where Chekov is interrogated by the Navy, and Chekov's rescue.
5) Not a lot to choose from here, this was a decent choice, as much as the special effects in this movie were a step down from 2,3,4.
6) Not a bad choice, but the first firing on the Chancellor's ship followed by Kirk's "We surrender" is a nice runner-up.
Generations) This whole section of the movie was good. The battle with the Klingon ship was also good, if nonsensical. Not much else in this movie was worth it.
First Contact) Good choice, but I would also have preferred Picard's Line Speech.
Insurrection) This was the only good scene in the whole damn movie.
Nemesis) I suppose if we have to pick a "best" scene from a movie full of bad ones, it would be this. The movie's only impressive moment.
2009) Agree with all Roy Stephen's choices!
Into Darkness) Good choice, also the scene where Khan kills Carol's father.
Beyond) I keep meaning to see this one.

Star Trek has a way of doing that to you. Especially when I watch the original movies 1-6. I feel like a kid again, just really well written adventure, and characters you care about.

I remember seeing Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) at a convetion and she was bemoaning in her usual style the fact that the ONLY two times she is given a chance to steer the ship, both times she crashes it! On reviewing this I found it even more amusing that Picard actually calls her Deanna and not Troi as if guiding a daughter in reversing off the drive!
The Captain Sulu line is the theme of the entire movie series. Willing to die just to rescue your friends who have rescued you. The best scene out of them all.

the scene in 2009 when George rams the ship. His extreme love for his family gave him no choice but sacrifice his life for those he loves. Good men must do horrible things in order for other to sleep peacefully at night. tears every time.
The one doesn't really track with the other. George is sacrificing himself so his family and other crew might escape. The quote you reference is how awful things are done at need in order to protect others but what George did was not horrorible in the eyes of his own side, which I believe was the context that the quote evoked. But that's nitpicking. That scene is powerful.

Even though I disagree with a few of these, I love that you put this together. My picks are:
The Motion Picture: Kirk's shuttle approach to the Enterprise. Fantastic music paired with the kind of glory shots of the ship that you just don't see anymore in Star Trek.
The Wrath of Khan: We agree on this one. So much edge-of-your-seat tension on the tail end of a hard-fought battle.
The Search for Spock: We agree on this one too. I loved the entire ship heist sequence from start to finish.
The Voyage Home: There are so many great moments in this movie, but your choice stands out as my favorite as well.
The Final Frontier: For me, the best scene hands-down is the one in which Sybok is getting McCoy and Spock to face their inner emotional pain. McCoy's is especially powerful (and very well acted by DeForest Kelley and Laurence Luckinbill).
The Undiscovered Country: There are a couple of quiet moments that I really like (Spock with Valeris early in the film and Spock with Kirk late in the film), but the scene you chose is my favorite too for its sheer awesomeness.
Generations: We agree here too. Probably the second-best Enterprise destruction scene in Star Trek history (after the scene in Star Trek III).
First Contact: I really enjoyed the stuff with Zephram Cochrane. My favorite scene is the one in which Riker walks in on Cochrane and Troi getting drunk together.
Insurrection: Just for the beautiful music, my favorite scene is the one that opens the film.
Nemesis: We agree on this one. It was a very "Kirk" thing for Picard to do, but it worked well.
Star Trek: From the acting to the visuals to the music, that scene with George Kirk's sacrifice was beautifully done.
Star Trek Into Darkness: My favorite scene is the one in which Kirk is shocked into humility when Admiral Marcus's ship overtakes and threatens to destroy the Enterprise. I was a nice moment of growth for Kirk.
Star Trek Beyond: I'm partial to the scene in which Krall is explaining his motivations to Kirk. It was a nice callback to Star Trek: Enterprise.

Dang good job! You managed to include most if not all of the Star Trek franchise. I'm glad you did say by your own choice which makes it a personal selection. I tend to put mine into what made me laugh the loudest and cry the hardest and what rare moments that just made me think. But that's Star Trek. That's what it does. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, and everything in between. But, to me, the best thing is it gives you hope and something to dream for. That certain sense of Enterprise.

I don't understand why some consider this one of the bad movies. Maybe just because it's an odd numbered one and people like patterns. Anyway, I think it has a good balance of drama, tragedy,, tension, humor, and adventure. And the story shows what Kirk will do for Spock. As Edith Keeler says about Spock in relation to Kirk, "you, by his side...."

It's absolutely a worthy addition to the Star Trek Canon, and not in the same category as the overly silly Final Frontier (What does God need with a starship? To hightail it from Uhura's fan dance, duh) or the dull Generations or the just uninspired and unfortunate Insurrection and Nemesis.

I don't necessarily agree with your choice for Khan. I think it's just before that where they're going into the Nebula and you watch how Kirk strategically positions his ship to be right behind it after dropping down "3 dimensional thinking" that was better.

Murray I agree with you. I grew up back in the early 80's and I'm more of a Star Wars fan than Trek. However Wrath of Khan was amazing! From the opening scene where his men put the Ceti eel in Chekovs helmet to the scene you mentioned to the ending which made you cry. However the best part of the scene you mentioned was the score in the background.Once the Enterprise drops down and the attack is on that music is awesome.
Or the bit where they order the computer to drop Reliant's shields. Tbh most of that movie is awesome.

Nemesis was probably my favorite of the TNG movies. The ramming scene was a really good element the writers finally used after teasing it several times over ST's TV and movie canon.
First Contact is my favorite TNG movie but I never could understand why most people hated Nemesis. It was a great movie. I loved it.
@@joesweat8744 My guess is people disliked Nemesis because it used the stealing-Picard's-humanity in-universe trope, but possibly also because not much is said about the Romulans in relation to the Remans beside the former enslaving the latter. The partnering up of Enterprise with the Romulans to fight the Scimitar also came off - to me - as a bit too easy and convenient for the plot. It felt like Picard and the Romulan captain had run into each other at an old watering hole they both used to frequent, and wouldn't you know it, a bar fight breaks out and they happily jump into the fray with an oh-this-again jovial eyeroll. A good space battle sequence overall since it was a significant portion of the movie, but when you watch it it has the same effect as Data saying "to hell with our orders"...it's been done in ST before like trilithium and time travel, so there needed to be more creativity put into the prelude. Also, perhaps the story could have been even better if Shinzon had started terrorizing a few planets with his super-ship, or freeing other local slave races and injecting some ethical dilemma into the proceedings.
But if one doesn't spend too much time thinking hard about it, it's one of the better TNG movies.
Spock's death in Wrath of Kahn, has been and always shall be the best scene.

Stealing the Enterprise in Star Trek III was epic. Best scene from any Star Trek film. 2nd place goes to the Star Trek II scene you have where Spock sacrifices his life so the Enterprise can escape.

Of all the missed opportunities in this Universe, a George Takei / Sulu series tops the list. I would've gladly given up Voyager for a Sulu series. Not only did the character deserve it, but George was always the most stand-out actor among the secondary cast. As an actor, he deserved it as well.

I agree with the list except the first Chris Pine Star Trek, my favorite scene is when young Spock was going to crash the Vulcan ship with the red matter into Romulan ship and the Romulans fired on him and Enterprise warped in and took out the missiles so Spock could complete the mission

Watching this video, I realized that betwen 1982 and 1998, there was a Star Trek movie released every 2 years. This really was the Golden Age of Star Trek. I am so glad I got to grow up in this era of Star Trek.
As much as Voyage Home is my favorite of the films, it is still funny how they changed the entire Bird of Prey bridge set and thought no one would notice. Then there's Scotty wearing the white shirt instead of the brown he had in the previous movie. But then, things seem to change inexplicably with every movie, lol
The bridge layout can be easily explained - the Vulcans retrofit it for Federation use.
Only to a degree, because all the signage is still in Klingon, as are the displays. You'd think re-programming would be far quicker than rebuilding from the inside-out.

I liked when Worf and the Capt went at it in First Contact and Into the Darkness was DEFINATELY when Spock screamed "KAHN!!!!" then went after him to save Kirk.

It's alway's a good scene when Troy crashes the Enterprise.
BOTH times she's taken the helm, the Enterprise has crashed. Maybe they shouldn't let her drive anymore!

Well, the second time was intentional... though Worf should have pulled out his “Perhaps today IS a good day to die! Prepare for RAMMING SPEED” line from First Contact again.
The line "Calm yourself Doctor ," should be applied to any and all of Bones' rants when he utters one of his imortal catchphrase lines . Damnit Jim!!
