In 2017 I awoke in ICU after 8 days in and out conscious being told I almost died from a massive cerebellar stroke. A myrical I survived. In the early stages of recovery - I learned how to do everything as if a baby would. From walking to talking. Literally starting over at age 53. A wonderful nurse would visit and play this song for me. It is now my favorite and most inspirational song every time I feel like giving up on what's normal for most people.
Never give up. Look beyond the horizon. Dare to do the impossible. Never let others hold you down. Have faith of the heart. You can do anything.

Tears ... this absolutely moves me to tears. This isn't just about Star Trek or space travel. This is about DREAMS ... this is about looking over the horizon and wondering what else is out there. This is about being daring and courageous and willing to take on the extremes of our universe in order to open the minds and hearts of ordinary people. I salute all of the brave explorers of the past and the brave explorers of the future, because this video celebrates their spirit.

On November, 2017 I almost died from a massive ischemic stroke. As I began the long road to recovery into my new normal, a nurse/therapist would visit and play this song for me every day. It got me through those early days of learning to walk, read, talk, and write again. Now it's my favorite source of inspiration when I'm down and in doubt. Even today, I'm doing things people were saying I'd never do again.
This song is about not giving up. It's about daring to dream the impossible and accomplishing exactly that which we do not think is possible. Look beyond the horizon and go there. Live long and prosper.

I was going to post on this particular song and as I scrolled down, I read your thread and our cases are eerily similar. My stroke was also ischemic and happened 2 days before Xmas 2017. I heard this song when I would watch Enterprise in the hospital and later when I couldn't sleep at night when I was home. There are many lines from the song from which I still draw inspiration to this day. I figure I am looking at 7 year recovery and I work on it 6 days a week often for hours. I have the reading, talking, and writing back to normal. I am back driving and I have worked a little, although the limits are COVID related not stroke related. I am also doing things people were saying I'd never do like walking without a cane, which I started doing in April. I wo.uld love to hear an update on your recovery. Mine is really taking off in Year 5!
It's been a long road, getting there to here. (i always add NO DOUBT)
It's been a long time, but my time is finally near.
Been through the darkness. Now I finally have my day.
And I will see my dream come alive at last. I will touch the sky.
Cause I've got faith of the heart.

It´s been a long road, getting from there to here.
It´s been a long time, but my time is finally near.
And I can feel the change in the wind right now. Nothing´s in my way.
And they´re not gonna hold me down no more, no they´re not gonna hold me down.
Cause I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me.
I´ve got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star. I´ve got faith, I´ve got faith, faith of the heart.
It´s been a long night. Trying to find my way.
Been through the darkness. Now I finally have my day.
And I will see my dream come alive at last. I will touch the sky.
And they´re not gonna hold me down no more, no they´re not gonna change my mind.
Cause I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me.
I´ve got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star. I´ve got faith, faith of the heart.
I´ve known the wind so cold, and seen the darkest days.
But now the winds I feel, are only winds of change.
I´ve been through the fire and I´ve been through the rain.
    But I´ll be fine.
Cause I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me.
I´ve got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star. I´ve got faith.
I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star. I´ve got faith, I´ve got faith, faith of the heart.
    It´s been a long road.

three days after the 30th anniversary of the Challenger accident it still hurts to see the crew, I remember watching the launch and explosion in elementary school, I'm 38 now. This is an excellent tribute to their sacrifice and all our members of the space program.
instead of working on weapons to kill each other, our government should take those dollars and put it into the next frontier, Space. There are discoveries to be made! if we don't those lives lost in the space program were in vain.

I still don't understand why people hate this theme. I unironically think it's the best theme of the entire Star Trek series. Especially with the intro visuals. It's just SO good. This Theme, plus the visuals is like, the perfect kind of thing to send out into space. It's the baby steps of human space exploration! How could you NOT like this theme??? it's fantastic. Different? Sure! But still amazing!
    Edit: Some typos.

I've ALWAYS thought this song was PERFECT for the enterprise show. Since it was the FIRST ENTERPRISE. "ITS BEEN A LONG ROAD, GETTING FROM HERE TO THERE" is an acknowledgment of how far humanity has come from since we launched the Voyager satellites and.landed on the moon. It captures EVERYTHING the world felt at that time. It is my personal FAVORITE ST song.

Speaking as a die hard trekkie (please note, not trekker, but trekkie) I have watched every episode, movie, and cartoon relating to this series. The fundamentals and morals it teaches are something I long for in this world, especially with everything that is going on. This song could not have been a better choice for the show it was representing. And it has absolutely nothing to do with religion. Faith isn't strictly religion. Faith is the evidence of things that we do not see but we hope for. Things we believe in, despite all of society telling us "You're not ready." When Archer looked at the Admiral and told him that Humans were ready, he was showing that faith. He believed, with all his heart, that despite what the Vulcans said, humanity was ready for whatever the universe could throw at them. Awesome job with the video and filling out with the song. Sadly, it's done in 2009 and now 11 years out of date. How about an update to it to include our next step of faith? The Mars rocket that we just launched! #believeinthefuture

At this point in my life this song has meaning for me. I’ve always been afraid of change and risk because I’ve always been more terrified of failure than excited for the possibility of success. I've spent the last several years watching episodes of all the Star Trek series each night on UPN. After watching them for several months, I was very surprised to find that that I found the Enterprise series to be far and away, the second best Star Trek series ever, just behind the original Star Trek series. And the only reason I put the original series first, is because it deserves a lot of credit for being the first and bringing the concept to live, and covering a lot of social topics that were controversial when it came out in the '60s . The reason I love the Enterprise series so much is because it never had "trivial" episodes, where the show was dominated by romance themes ( ex. Riker and Troi), it never had "silly" episodes like Voyager devolving into Tim Paris playing Flash Gordon in the holodeck), and it was far superior to Deep Space Nine . Enterprise was gritty, with morally complex themes ( ex. Archer having to blow up a listening post of unarmed aliens in order to keep their presence secret while trying to find and stop the doomsday weapon from blowing up Earth ), and it showed how difficult it was to be in space , pretty much on your own , without a fleet of starships to help you out. The way Star Trek fans dissed this show and , in my opinion, are very closed minded about it , is a shame. They're missing out on an excellent series

This song is so dear to my heart. I started working as a customer support at a company. I was treated very badly. Moved on from that job to another, becoming a marketing data analyst. The salary wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. All this time, I studied hard, never gave up, following my dream. I always wanted to be a game developer and have my own company. I worked over 13 hours a day on Upwork, Fiver, all this time, listening to this song on repeat. Today, after 7 years, I have my own company, working on game development and still listening to this song - My time is finally near and this is the soundtrack that gave me all the motivation to do it! P.S. I'm a Star Trek geek too and I love it! :))

It is inspirational as much as it shows the journey, so makes sense. I have told my children to listen to these words carefully and know that with enough dedication, hard work determination and focus, they can reach their own stars, regardless of what others may say or mock.

This was a great song and I also think it was perfect for the Show. I've been watching reruns of all the various Star Trek shows, for the past several months, and I'm surprised to say that I think the 'Enterprise ' show was not only vastly underrated, but was probably the SECOND best Star Trek series ever, behind only the original series. I realize Trekkie's will cry 'blasphemy' at that statement, , but the Next Generation, as good as it was , had a lot of lame episodes, especially in the later years. And Voyager got pretty silly after 3 years, while Deep Space Nine was never very good. . The Enterprise series however, always had good episodes, an excellent cast, and it showed what I thought was a fairly realistic, gritty way, of how the Federation came to be and survive despite a lot of early challenges. It 's much much better than it was given credit for.

Today as I watched the Space X launch and docking and then watched the booster land ON A BARGE at sea standing straight up AND THEN seeing the star trek like interior of the dragon capsule docking with the ISS I realized something I knew was coming when Elon Musk started sharing his dreams years ago. It came to fruition today. I love star trek and have since I was very little( I'm 53). I've seen space travel progress through the years, amazed, from the Viking lander, the space shuttle, Apollo missions, Voyager reaching out of our solar system.

A song I originally hated, but over the years, mellowed on and grew to like. It's not what I would have chosen for the Enterprise intro, but the cheesiness of it makes me smile.

The song is not cheesy it matches the visuals your clearly just projecting your own bias against religious music cuz your insecure

    • @thepersonwhocomentz
      @thepersonwhocomentz 3 года назад

@@swaythegod5812 I'm religious and love to sing in church, lmao. It's got nothing to do with that. Also, "matches the visuals"? Of Star Trek? I don't really see where you would make that connection. It very clearly should have been another instrumental piece like the other intros. I don't disrespect it for doing something different; I just don't think it was executed very well.

And tell him that whenever i hear this intro it takes me back to that time. Aslo will tell him how much love him and that STE will allways be a show that is his and mine.

      @That_Service_Dog 8 лет назад +2

+Bill Krayer,Jr. Rod Stewart sung it first. It was written by Diane Warren for the soundtrack of Patch Adams in 1998. Russell Watson renamed it in 2001 for the theme to Star Trek Enterprise but it still remains that the original songwriter and singers titled it "Faith of the Heart".

    Enterprise

After watching the two new shows, I rewatched the first episode of enterprise and instant liked it more than ever and definitely more than discovery and unfortunately picard as well. It feels more like star trek from the very first beginning. Maybe I should give this enterprise another shot.

If there ever was a song that perfectly encapsulated the heart of Star trek, the desire for exploring the next frontier, and believing in your ideals and belief in a better future, this is it. And both in the original opening and in this video, watching every small step leading to the enterprise is both moving and inspiring.
Anyone else feels like going outside and looking at the stars? :)

    Best memory of my life:
    The bells stop.
    Four heartbeats of complete silence.
    Then this song starts.
The door wings fly wide open and, at her father´s side, my girl enters the church.
    All eyes on her.
To the music she walks straight through the lines of our completely stunned guests.
Her father smiles, stops after the half way and lets her go the last steps on her own.
My best man smiles too, then steps aside as well and leaves me standing alone - but I have only eyes for her.
It´s the first time I see her in this dress.
    Wow.
My heart is hammering hard in my throat, my eyes are burning in liquid fire and I simply can´t stop my face from grinning happily.
She finally stops at my side to become my wife.
    I can reach any star!

This is a great song. This was well done and was created with great perspective. I just wonder how much better it would have been with shots of Liaka, the first earthling in space, and Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space. With those shots it would make Star Trek and Enterprise a realism beyond criticism. It would include all of Earths efforts to reach the stars, not just Hollywoods.
