Deep Space Nine is one of the deepest shows in STAR TREK universe, it showed us how war affects everyone. How people lay down their lives for their factions and how they become heroes. The Deep Space Nine theme is a tribute to those officers of Starfleet and Klingon Defense Forces.
I just want to point out that those officers didn’t have to die if it wasn’t for the complete and total incompetence of starfleet in that era. Starfleet was overconfident and had essentially no defenses from threats even though they knew of several, including the borg, and the dominion during the Cold War, but their best response was to pull the defiant, a pretty terribly designed ship out of mothballs, make one decently designed ship, and two overpriced and not at all practical designs, and the last three were only entering service after the war. Also ds9 is bad.

You know, if the Enterprise theme had been orchestrated like this, I would have liked it. There's nothing "wrong" with the song-but it could have been the theme to just about any TV on the air at that time.
I disliked the theme song so much that I held off watching the show for close to 10 years. Her rendition of it would have made all the difference. I really like what she did with the orchestration.
@@ShaiYammanee She didn't play the theme song, Faith of the Heart. This was the outro which others identified as Archer's Theme. Faith was a jarring break from the preceding 4 series and I hated it. But over time as I listened to the words which were excellent I came to appreciate their choice. I think they were trying to communicate the spirit, courage, isolation, and audacity of early explorers.
This is awesome -- and especially the DS9 theme which is my all-time favourite (in total, as series, theme, acting) sounds a like an Irish folk melody.
Up until about a hundred years ago... there was one question that burned in every Human - that made us study the stars and dream of traveling to them: "Are we alone?" Our generation is privileged to know the answer to that question. We are all explorers, driven to know what's over the horizon, what's beyond our own shores. And yet... the more I've experienced, the more I've learned... that no matter how far we travel, or how fast we get there... the most profound discoveries are not necessarily beyond that next star. They're within us - woven into the threads that bind us - all of us - to each other. The final frontier begins in this hall. Let's explore it together. -Captain Johnathan Archer
Whew. Speaking as someone who has been watching TOS reruns since before TNG premeired, I can certainly say it's been a long road getting from there to here.
If you’re a Voyager fan, Garret Wang and Robert Duncan McNeil aka Ensign Harry Kim and Lieutenant Tom Paris are hosting a weekly podcast called the Delta Flyers where they go over each episode of Voyager in order to see what they remember about filming them.
Picard once said that time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. This made me realise that Star Trek has been a companion throughout my life's journey: these are the themes of my time.
I don't want to think what life would be like with out Star Trek... Growing up with TNG and all after that. We got to thank the classic one tho for getting us cell phones and such... Star Trek has been my companion throughout life as well...
Star Trek has been and always will be a integral part of our lives. We must remember that half our technology we have today was inspired from Star Trek and how much of an impact the show and Gene Roddenberry has affected our lives.
And Soren once said: "You know they say time is the fire in which we burn. Right now, my time is running out. We leave so many things unfinished in our lives. I know you understand." Maybe I should go finish my Star Trek rewatches.
Some of my earliest memories are watching Picard and gang as new episodes aired. I especially remember Lore scaring the crap out of me. Picard is, as he said himself, a role model.
My husband and I chose the deep space nine theme as our wedding march. It was beautiful and nobody could figure out what it was. They just thought it was pretty.
I cried a bucket when the Voyager theme played. I binged watch it during the peak of my depression and being half crazy. that series saved me from killing myself. im well now. that was 11years ago.
I'm proud to admit that I'm a Trekkie, and hearing all of these themes meld together into one beautifully composed piece is stunning. Very well played!

I dont know why, but the Voyager theme is so emotional in a way. I dont know is it because it brings me back to my teenage years but its really special
Yes, im probably biased as Voyager is my Star Trek lol but its by far the best theme tune and also opening credit scene, very powerful but emotional too
I was absolutely moved by "Archer's theme", I love that music but not many Trekkies take it seriously enough to play it but I am amazed by your rendition of it
@@VioDanceMusic It was written to be the main theme, before they went for that stupid song - when I heard you chose Archer's Theme, I would have applauded
@@VioDanceMusic I was actually pre-grimacing before the transition to Archer's theme thinking "this is about to all be ruined by that revolting Enterprise song", then was overcome with relief and joy by your exquisite rendition of the closing credits. Absolutely loved it all.
If only she has PLAYED the theme from Enterprise, that would have been nice. Instead, she played the closing. Unbelievable. When you refer to the dog, I'm hoping you're referring to Porthos.
Voyager may not have been the strongest of the classic Trek series, but damn its theme tune always gives me goosebumps and this is no exception when it popped up in this beautiful rendition. Sublime work! :)
Loved DS9 and Voyager transition. Voyagers theme is so emotional. A crew attempting to stay optimistic so far from home. Impossible odds against them, but soldiering on.
DS9's theme was powerful, because it was so lonely. That single trumpet carrying the melody for the first verse. The Voyager theme had a similar meaning. Loneliness and (shall I say) despair.
@@bobbwc7011the way the producers had a magic reset button at the end of every episode was pretty sad. The show had a 7 year story arc (get home) but couldn't show accumulated damage to the ship? Come on now...
@@mikehatz3942 Voyager isn't flying through a barren wasteland. There are various celestial bodies to collect raw materials from, civilizations to trade with, replicators with which to fabricate replacement parts, and a crew to do repair work. Voyager's biggest problem isn't repairs. The biggest problem is running out of fuel or dilithium. Scarcity of fuel is the reason replicator use is rationed and Neelix prepares meals the old-fashioned way. One wonders how a starship with fusion reactors could ever run out of fuel, though, considering the abundance of hydrogen in space. Gas giants are made out of it.
One of my favorite parts of the Voyager theme is the subtle homage to "A Star Beyond Time" (Ilia's Theme) from ST:TMP. 🙂 All of these are beautifully played. Thanks! 🖖
@@roy1701d I hadn't heard that one, so went to give it a listen and see what you mean! Do I detect an influence here on the opening of the Picard theme too?
The first time I played the Star Trek theme in orchestra, I got so choked up and teared up I couldn't see my music, so I improvised. ( I'm a trombonist). My conductor was so moved, that he stopped the rehearsal and told me to play what I just did again. My "psuedo-cadenza" was included in the final performance. That was 15 years ago, and I still get complimented on it.
My 3 year old son has autism, and he watches your videos every day to relax or when falling asleep. If he wakes up at night he asks for your videos. He has taken such an interest in the violin because of this as well. I just wanted to tell you how much your music influences him and our every day life. Thank you.
The Enterprise theme... Archer's theme is such an amazing track and this piece of musical brilliance just emphasises that. Thank you for such a beautiful rendition.
Today I realized that the sequence of Star Trek melodies can be compared to the progression of themes for a single human lifetime. The Original Series begins with a youthful and energetic theme that suggests the ambition of a young Captain Kirk. The Next Generation conveys confidence and pride as the Federation has become very established in the galaxy. DS9 provides a powerful theme that seems to reflect on the experiences of not only the Federation, but also Benjamin Sisko's nonlinear memory of his own past suffering. A beautiful and wistful theme represents Voyager's Captain Janeway and her crew in their nostalgic longing for home while it also embraces Star Trek's original sense of adventure. Another extraordinary composition, Archer's Theme calls forth a mature sense of serenity and wisdom in a melody that rivals the elegance of Voyager's theme. On the other hand, Discovery seems to convey agitation and instability, suggesting a time of chaos and decline. Representing the twilight of a lifetime, Picard's evocative and sublime melody clearly conveys the melancholy of Jean-Luc Picard himself. The Original Series: Ambition The Next Generation: Pride Deep Space Nine: Reflection Voyager: Nostalgia Archer's Theme: Wisdom Discovery: Agitation Picard: Melancholy
@@AnthonyD0311 I listed the shows in the order of their creation in the real world. Let's hope the franchise will find a source of sustained regeneration for the future.
I would say self-confidence instead of pride for TNG, and impatience instead of agitation for STD, but otherwise agree. My first thougt on Voyager was homesick, but nostalgia fits better.
It's actually not a violin at all, it's a viol, or viola de gamba. The more obvious differences are that a violin doesn't have frets and only 4 strings, whereas a viol has frets and 5 strings. They're very rare instruments.
The transition from DS9 to Voyager was visually terrific. The transition from Voyager to Enterprise was musically flawless. And the Picard theme... just outstanding! It was funny, though, that you went with Archer's theme (the outro) for Enterprise, rather than Faith of the Heart, which I'm sure Trekkies everywhere greatly appreciate you doing! LOL Great work!

First off: that is probably the most interesting violin design I’ve ever seen; secondly: this was an awesome take on the themes of one of the best tv series.
Not having ever played violin, I would still imagine that this design is a blessing to necks and spines. I've always wondered if violinists suffered from scoliosis and other issues from prolonged tension of supporting a violin the way it's traditionally done.

I remember when Star Trek had the first black protagonist or female captain protagonist, as well as so many various topics covered by the TV episodes. Who knew at that time that they were already ahead of their time in covering all these social issues but they didn't make it an issue, they just portrayed things in a normal and customary way.
As a child born in the mid 1960s, I was somehow blissfully unaware of the social turbulence happening in the real world at the time and simply assumed that large cities were as peacefully integrated as seen on Sesame Street and the humans on Star Trek.
While Janeway was the 1st female captain in a series, there is a cameo of an African American female captain of a starship at the beginning of Star Trek IV. Nice to see how much the Starfleet changed between the end of the Original Series on Kirk's Enterprise & Star Trek IV. The series finale of TOS was all about a female Starfleet officer going insane due to the rule that females are not allowed to be starship captains. People tend to view Trek in an alternate light in how they portrayed social progress. Roddenberry was VERY inconsistent at it. In BALANCE OF TERROR of the TOS, RACISM was very much a part of Starfleet, and still existed in Star Trek VI. Bu magically, by the time of TNG, Roddenberry decided females captains were okay & everyone in Starfleet is PERFECT without conflict or racism. While I LOVE how TOS evolved, when they changed from The Cage with a female First Officer to the TOS with Spock as 1st officer, the network was FINE with keeping the female 1st officer but t was RODDEBERRY who decided to scrap her & promote Spock instead. So, even in the late 60s, the NETWORK had NO PROBLEM with a WOMAN in a command position . There is also a PR story Roddenberry said - that may or may not be true - about keeping Uhura around but HE claims the network says a BLACK female can NEVER be in command of the ship. I find that questionable since they were fine with a WHITE female in command. But the 60s was probably more RACIST than SEXIST, so who knows!? Oh well, people like to think of Trek's optimistic non-racists, non-sexist, perfect humans in the TNG era instead of the reality of TOS. And that's fine. Facts & reality aside, Just sayin.
@@europeanpatriot8031 Go home wokey, your name isn't fooling me. Discovery made a black protagonist for political reasons, in DS9 it was story telling and world building.

Faith of the Heart intensifies!
There's a video of the opening credits with Archer's Theme. The opening credits that should have been.
That was a problem with that one. A Star Trek theme must always be an instrumental.
I think the "7 of K-9" during the Voyager theme is so adorable.....🥰
This is awesome -- and especially the DS9 theme which is my all-time favourite (in total, as series, theme, acting) sounds a like an Irish folk melody.

This is GREAT! Awesome job!
That Voyager theme is especially heartfelt.

OK this was great. And the Borg dog sealed it lol
TNG is by far my favourite iteration of the series but the voyager titles are the most beautiful by a landslide. Also damn good show

Whew. Speaking as someone who has been watching TOS reruns since before TNG premeired, I can certainly say it's been a long road getting from there to here.

Themes to boldly go
And Soren once said:
"You know they say time is the fire in which we burn. Right now, my time is running out. We leave so many things unfinished in our lives. I know you understand."
Maybe I should go finish my Star Trek rewatches.
Some of my earliest memories are watching Picard and gang as new episodes aired. I especially remember Lore scaring the crap out of me. Picard is, as he said himself, a role model.
That transition from Voyager to Enterprise gives me goosebumps.....I got into Star Trek from Enterprise as a young teen

Voyager's theme, just like the show, is the pure soul of Star Trek.

I came here to be critical. But yea..the DS9 to Voyager was excellent. I appreciate the art
It's kind of like the first episode of Voyager, when the ship leaves DS9
All the transitions were pretty darn epic, to tell the truth.
I dont know why, but the Voyager theme is so emotional in a way. I dont know is it because it brings me back to my teenage years but its really special

I was absolutely moved by "Archer's theme", I love that music but not many Trekkies take it seriously enough to play it but I am amazed by your rendition of it

Loved DS9 and Voyager transition. Voyagers theme is so emotional. A crew attempting to stay optimistic so far from home. Impossible odds against them, but soldiering on.
Voyager was a shitshow, unfortunately.
DS9's theme was powerful, because it was so lonely. That single trumpet carrying the melody for the first verse. The Voyager theme had a similar meaning. Loneliness and (shall I say) despair.

The Enterprise theme... Archer's theme is such an amazing track and this piece of musical brilliance just emphasises that. Thank you for such a beautiful rendition.
The Enterprise of Archer is also the best Star trek.
The Original Series: Ambition
The Next Generation: Pride
Deep Space Nine: Reflection
Voyager: Nostalgia
Archer's Theme: Wisdom
Discovery: Agitation
Picard: Melancholy

Beautiful
Love it mate!
@@AnthonyD0311 I listed the shows in the order of their creation in the real world. Let's hope the franchise will find a source of sustained regeneration for the future.

Violin looks like half a Klingon Bird O Prey.
I believe the model of the violin is the Viper.
Such a beautiful violin.

It's actually not a violin at all, it's a viol, or viola de gamba. The more obvious differences are that a violin doesn't have frets and only 4 strings, whereas a viol has frets and 5 strings. They're very rare instruments.
Well, I take it back, looks like they're sold as "violins", but that's pretty weird when it shares more in common with a viol...

You do realise that you pointing it out, makes you a part of the problem which you just described, right?
Truth is truth. And fact was fact. Nowadays too many cannot. WILL NOT. see that. I fear for this country
A 92 yr old trekker
