Oh they switched up theme songs? That's fun, I always liked the season 1 and 2 song though, shame it wasn't paired with a show that actually felt like it fit it's vibe.

Roddenberry's dream was green big tibbie women in space. Everything we know and love about Star Trek today can be attributed to Gene L. Coon and Dorothy (D.C.) Fontana.
Oh my gosh. So awesome. I always love your new bridge sections, this one was even better being such a good counterpoint to the continuing backing melody! And the plucked section at the start was wonderful. Then the big crescendo at the end, instead of just repeating, was amazing! I also especially loved your mimicking of the theremin sound at the end, though careful playing. The SNW theme is easily my favourite of the bunch. Even though this is the one show I would’ve been happy with a new orchestration of the original tune, the fact they spun the original motif into an entirely new piece (which was honestly more grand and sweeping in some places), which even develops its own sub-motif; is all so wonderful. Compared to the Discovery theme, which I think is plenty nice by itself but then they tack-on The Fanfare motif at the very end. Which has never worked for me - putting the intro motif as the end just makes it feel like it hasn’t resolved. But the SNW theme integrates the concept into its entire composition, and it works so well! The theremin finale tops it off for me, evoking that classic sci-fi feel juuust enough. Lastly, about the video component: that light-up acrylic violin looks incredible! And despite being a Number One cosplay, there were a few moments when I thought you looked like Adira, which I thought was nice. Excellent green screen work as always, but I loved the location shoots too! Especially the eerie lighting in the cave - was that the light from the violin, or did you supplement it with a fill light? Fantastic work all round! This has gone into my music favs playlist!

Some people say they should have gone for a entirely new composition instead of reworking the TOS theme, but for us, we feel the composer somehow managed to "enhance" the original melody, sort of making it more epic and modern but at the same time keeping the essence (the theremin in the end is the cherry on the top). We really love it. And about the theremin part, we were actually considering buying a theremin to play the ending part, but ended up playing it as harmonics on the violin. It was hard to make it sound decent but managed after a lot of tries. The light on the cave was a portable LED panel (NEEWER 660). The violin doesn't emit that much light to be able to illuminate the whole cave(but it would definitely be cool if it could, no?) 😊 Have a great weekend Kaitlyn!

My reaction may not have been quite as strong, but I understand the sentiment. The theme sets the tone for the show, and for a long time we've been getting some rather depressing ones. SNW's immediately told me something was going to be different, as it actually set a tone of adventure/excitement with some nostalgia added in. It felt like Star Trek hadn't ever really returned until now. First time in well over a decade that a Star Trek theme was able to get me hyped for the episode.
Wonderful playing here--truly remarkable. You did a cosplay tribute to #1 in the video. I think you may have to be arrested for being an Illyrian!! I feel like Discovery really didn't find its rhythm until it went into the far future, while Picard didnt truly make sense until the the final season came and you were able to then look back at the entire series as a whole (Although the whole Dr Jurati Borg thing never got proper closure as a storyline). Strange New Worlds however, hit the ground running, and it's been at full speed since then. They just got a lot of things right in that show. Anson mount is a terrific actor.

I love this! Your talent both as a musician and with video effects is world-class. I do a lot of work with Green Screen, but I wonder if this video of yours was all green screen or were you actually in some of the outdoor environments that we see. The scene that makes me wonder the most is right near the end when your foot is resting on an incline of the rock and that sand dune type of plant is moving in the breeze. It looks like your hair is also moving in that breeze which makes it very realistic. It's all realistic, but because I do green screen work, I am looking for any telltale signs. Your color matching, lighting and shading work is excellent.
