I love you!! I have started and failed to learn brioche knitting several times, each time with just a mess. Your tutorial is so darn accessible and understandable! “Don’t go out without your shawl. Uh oh, lost your shawl, it wanted to be a belt, get back up there. The first step is knowing it looks weird.” I cannot thank you enough!
The shawl that wanted to be a belt was exceptionally endearing.
@@doomfloof101 In The Boho Religion, We Accept All Scarves, Bandeaus, Shawls, Belts... They Are Free To Be Each Other Interchangeably. 😂 And At Any Point Without Warning... Unfortunately Brioche Is Not So Forgiving. 😂
Stephen, thank you so much for separating the tutorial between Continental and English styles. You create great tutorials normally, and this makes it even easier to understand the instructions when we don't have to transfer back and forth between the two styles together in one lesson. 😊
Thanks for the feedback! I'll share some more soon. :)
“Don’t go out the door without your shawl.” This has MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE for me. I can’t wait to dig in to a simple brioche experience so I can move on to brioche with increases and decreases.
What do you mean by that statement please?
Admirable teaching - clear, cute, slow enough, lots of repeats, and encouraging. Yay! Thank you, Stephen!
I agree- Stephen makes it seem doable!
I Will never forget the stitch that cannot go out without a shawl anymore! Wow, you make Brioche less intimidating for me! I am really going to try this. Thank you!!
Thank you Stephen! That was the clearest demo of brioche that I have ever seen. I feel like you have opened a whole other world of knitting to me. I have wanted to try some of your beautiful brioche patterns but was afraid. I took a brioche class at a yarn shop years ago. There were about 20 people crammed around a table. I went back for help the next day when I got something wrong. The owner was very rude and told me I needed to learn to read my knitting. I had paid for the class and bought my yarn there. I was not a customer of that shop again and I avoided brioche from then on. I’ve so been wanting to learn. Thank you again. I have bought the Craftsy class too and had watched a little. This really clarifies it all for me and I am going to work on this and watch more of that, as I know she’s a good teacher as well, but I was intimidated by it. You have a wonderful way of explaining things and now I feel I can tackle the class and try Exploration Station which I have wanted to do for years!
Simply wonderful explation! Thank you so much. 🎉🎉🎉
Glad it was helpful!
Merci de l'avoir fait de deux facons Tu es un champion
Ditto to the last message!! So helpful for those of us who have never brioched before. Thank you!!
Such thoughtful teaching!
Your ability to teach knitting in such an approachable and understandable method is amazing! I love just sitting and watching your tutorials even when I’m not working a project.
Thank u for taking the time to doing an entire brioche for continental knitters of several rows instead of switching from one to the other. This is extremely important & helpful. You're a real good teacher. Once again thanks!!!!
Thanks for the feedback!
I'm a continental knitter too and bought Marchand tutorial on crafts but her instruction was mostly with the English knitting. I just stumbled on Stephen's a d don't feel intimidated anymore 😅
THAN YOU,! after about 10 other videos, finally makes sense
Just, Excellent! Thank you,
Stephen❤
This is, by far, the best 2 color brioche tutorial I've ever seen. You're amazing and please never quit doing what you do!! 🙌🏻
I was having trouble with the Italian cast my how to book was explaining. Then I saw this, you have renewed my hope of learning this knitting method. Thank you doing this and for sharing your talents with others.
Thanks for the so clear explamations.
You make the pattern make sense. Thank you
Thank you!! It's amazing the way you do it!!!
Thank you so much - I’m doing a brioche jumper for the first time and I’ve pulled it back 3 times now - I now know what I’m doing wrong and your video was so so helpful - I’m going to practice on a swatch before doing my jumper again.
You've got this!
very helpful! I never understood how to slip the stiches to the other needle on the circular needles. I was poking each one by hand. Silly me. Just sliding it down is so easy!. You've made such a great video here. So many good tips and demonstration, I cannot even count them. Thank you.
We don´t belt! :-) Thanks for making me laugh! And thanks for the knit lesson Mr. West! Greetings from Germany Heike
In all my life I've never encountered a man knowing more about knitting than me. I love that I know nothing about brioche knitting and that the first video i find about it is a guy explaining so clearly and understandingly.
I'm sorry if i assumed genders and i might come over as close minded. Im trying to broaden my horizons and I'm still Learning. Not just about knitting. 😅
You have a gift for explaining things so clearly!
This has revolutionized my life. I can now do it!!!?
I"m so glad!! :)
I love that you knit Continental! So helpful to understand how to knit Brioche left-handed!
This was a fu**ing delight to watch. I was laughing out loud at the cute stitch outfits and it was incredibly informative.
This is going to be my next challenge!
Dear Stephen you are a true teacher! ... brioche was always for me the representation of the "unattainable" ... UNTIL I FOUND YOU !! really THANK YOU! 🧶🧶🥰🥰🥰🥰😊😊😊😊😊😊🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Thank you for creating the only clear video I've seen on brioche knitting that actually begins with the cast on. I've seen 3 videos in a row that showed brioche knitting from the middle of the project and with instructions that were clear as mud. I'd love to buy you a coffee.
Big day; I learned brioche and got my first vaccine! Thank you for sharing.
Nice!
I don´t even knit!! But like your style of teaching, explaining and demonstrating very much ! : ))) thx
Great teaching voice and techniques. I love it when an instructor has a sweet melodic voice. Thank you.
Omg !!! I finally understand, thank you thank you .
I have been hitting this point in learning where I'm asking myself if I even like the way knit looks anymore.. but when I see your projects, I absolutely love them. You bring the dopamine back.

Gracias, muy bien explicado y con mucha paciencia. Saludos desde Chile 🇨🇱
Whomever invented this was a sadist !! : ) Thanks for making this soooo much easier!
Thank you, Stephen, I really appreciate your guiding skill, and unforgettable too. God bless your knowledge more and more. Workie from Ethiopia, East Africa.
Omg I absolutely love you!! I can’t even begin to count how many different knitting tutorials I’ve watched… nope! No good! Wish I’d found you years ago! Where have you been all my life?! ❤❤
You are such a great teacher!!!!
This is so clear and concise - I will be coming back to this video
Brilliant teaching. So helpful. I feel confident even though it's the first time I've done brioche. The 'mistake' was super helpful.
Superb. Thanks for showing this continental style. Very clear and doable now.
Yeahhh I can't believe it, I can knit brioche 🥳😀! It took me many many times, and watched your video over and over again, also in slow motion. And now I feel so content with being able to knit brioche, what is so much fun. Thank you so much Stephen, I really appreciate your video and clear teaching!
Fantastic. Finally understood it, even though it doesn‘t give a clue why it‘s called brioche, because for me it‘s a french pastry. 😅 However, glad I‘ve found you. Just bouvht the brick sweater instructions.
Next time I am in NL I will check out your store. Thanks and best regards from Germany! 🙏👍🥰
Love the images, “shawl on the shoulder” and details like yarn in front before slip. I learned it’s all in the details esp what happens at ends of rows. Also to NOT practice with the buffalo/alpaca I bought for my scarf!! Poof!! Thank you!! You saved me.
I finally understand!! And thank you for showing the common mistakes that probably made me give up learning this stitch in the beginning.
I love your tutorial, Stephen! It's very clear. The best of all I've looked at so far. Thanks!
So glad it was helpful!
Watching you knit is magical... Thank you!
Yes, I love his examples too. Especially the ones for 'Make one right': "I'll be 'right back' ".
Best Brioche tutorial EVER ❤
Best Brioche tutorial ever! Thank you!
If our brioche looks like it’s supposed to, will be because of your awesome instructions.
Your explanation is SOOO good! I can follow, it's funny, it's easy to stay concentrated to, it's complete and now I finally feel confident to start trying it!
You are the greatest
This really just saved my life. Thank you kind person!! Thought i was going to have to give up on a project I was really looking forward to
Beautiful video. Thanks!!!
Thank you Stephen! Your repetitions and saying it out loud helped tremendously. I feel much closer to understanding what is going on when I work with brioche.
Thank you. The way you are explaining is awesome and easy to follow.
İ came here frustrated from other videos where İ achieved nothing! Now I'm leaving happy and motivated because İ found the best teacher ever and my first brioche knitting is stunning! Thank you soo much!
Thank you Stephen. I am a continental knitter and your teaching style made this much easier to learn.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Stephen. You are a master at explaining techniques.
Stephen you are so generous with sharing your knowledge… so appreciative…thank you very much.
Gracias me encanta tu trabajo soy de Perú
Very good demo this the Brioche Stitch is to be my next out of comfort zone challenge. 👍
You're a good teacher. I understand a lot better now.
I love how you teach!!! So easy and with the possible mistakes!
I just love you Sound waves scarf. So beautiful!
Best tutorial on this stitch I’ve seen. Thanks!!
What more can one say!? We love you Stephen! Thsnk you thank you, you make everything look fun and easy. Off to try brioche!
You can do it!
With about 100 repeats I finally started to get it. Thank you !
I am so happy to read this, now I get some hope! I already tried 20 repeats, so maybe in 80 repeats I will also get it! Omg this is so difficult but really would like to learn this.
The brioche and bobble shawl is fabulous, love the colours.
Excellent teaching. This makes me want to branch out and try something new because it is so well explained. Thank you for this!!
Thank you for posting this tutorial! Brioche has eluded me. I'm hopeful I can now figure it out:)
Wow..thank you. Can't tell you how many times I've frogged brioche projects. By George I've believe I've gotten it this time!!
You are an absolutely marvelous teacher!
Thank you so much. I already knew how to knit brioche with 2 colors but it had been a few years. Watching your video clarified a couple things for me. Good job! ❤️
Thank you so much Steven! This is my first time trying the brioche stitch and you explained it beautifully! Thank you!
I have wanted to learn this. Thank you for being so patient and showing how to fix the slips.
This is so perfect! My knitting goal for this year was to learn brioche stitch so I could make the Askews Me shawl and here are the videos to get me started :)
Thank you I was so confused with the way some hold the yarn and do their difficult knit and purl. Finally I found someone who does then the way I do without making it really comes to understand
Hi Stephen, thank you so much for these tutorials. You explain so clearly!
The best tutorial on brioche!
Glad it was helpful!
Quintessential teacher! Fun, comprehensive, complete. Thanks for a great tutorial Stephen. 👍👏👏👏👏💐
Your explanations are so clear! Thanks you so much!
I love the way you teach! I had to watch it several times to get it, but I got it, but that's all about how I learn. Thank you for teaching me this cool knitting style. I can' t wait to master it and make the foxtail wrap-- it's so pretty.
Love this! Will not forget my shawl when I brioche 😊
I love your teaching style! And thank you for showing both continental as well as English. Much appreciated!
Thank you! Your videos are the best. You are a great teacher!
Wuaaa felicitaciones exelente profesor muy bien enseñado bendiciones saludos desde Ecuador
Thank you for showing both knitting methods. I use whichever method works best for what I am knitting. I also appreciate showing how to recognize mistakes AND how to correct them. I just purchased your “night nook” sweater and was wondering how to do the saddle. Your instructions are easy to follow, but much more concentration intensive. You are the Kaffe of this generation. Both innovative, creative, and fun. Thank you.
Wow! Stephen, thank you for this tutorial! Brioche has been so intimidating for me, but I'm going to tackle it again using your techniques. I can't wait and thank you for all the great tips. :)
I love your analogy about the accessory of the shawl over the stitch! So cute and memorable! Yet another way that you always manage to make knitting so much fun!! Thank you for showing Both the continental and the English style of holding the yarn. I’ve only done the continental watching you do the slipstravaganza. It does seem easier for some things, but purling for me still seems easier throwing from right hand. I’m so excited to pick up my brioche project again that has been sitting in a time out waiting for me!!! Thank you for making this so accessible!
This is awesome! My first time seeing brioche knit. I need to watch more of your tutorials!
Thank you thank you for starting at the beginning , I really needed to see how to start !!!!
Thank you so much. With your help brioche is simple❤👏👏👏
I'm from Portugal
THANK YOU1 Your teaching is so clear and precise. I have always been scared of brioche, but now am excited to try some! You are the BEST!
Just wow. Your explanation and slowly showing it being done with examples of fixes is priceless. Thank you and thank you again.
Thank you so much , you've explained this to where it's really understandable for us english knitters
