    Thank you so much for this tutorial. I can do one color brioche in my sleep, but since I'm a eastern-style / russian-style knitter, I got confused with every one of the continental tutorials and tried to slip the stitches knitwise on a purl row. My niece whats a two color brioche headband for her birthday, so I just HAD to master it. After watching and knitting along, it's EASY now!

    Brilliant - so easy. Started here, did a swatch. Basically the YO & slip PW are a way to carry the yarn with you as opposed to carrying along the back of the work. After this, I worked my pattern version and got it - number of stitches odd or appears to change the order of the 'carry' stich/s appear either before or after the first knit or purl stitch (worked stitch), either that or when you attach the 2nd color - after the set up row or after 1st row. But as noted the number of color stitches that predominates is the last color worked and once the pattern is established it's pretty easy to pick up and see what your next row needs to be!

      You are right, Julie - once we understand the logic behind this pattern, everything becomes very easy. Happy knitting :-)

      You can use the same idea of changing colours in every row when you work in the honeycomb brioche pattern (ruclips.net/video/4imyGyrznHU/видео.html). Happy knitting :-)

    I really like your video on the provisional cast on using a crochet hook and knitting needle. I’d love to see you combine that with a two color brioche with symmetrical selvedges. No one explains as well as you do! For example, which color do you start with after the provisional cast on? How are the first and last stitches worked? You are my knitting guru! Many thanks.

    • @10rowsaday
      @10rowsaday  3 года назад

      Thank you so much for the kind words and many thanks for the suggestion to use provisional cast on with two-colour brioche. I would be very careful when combining such a puffy stitch pattern with such a stretchy cast on. Brioche usually works much better with a non-stretchy cast on. Otherwise, it gets too messy. Happy knitting, my friend :-)

    Thankyou - I have a question - Could I do 4 colour brioche? ie: Black main colour and three cables - each a different colour? (Green white and red)

    • @10rowsaday
      @10rowsaday  Год назад

      That's a very interesting project you have in mind, Marcello :-) Yes, it is possible to make but it won't be easy. The way I understand your idea, you want to put cables in different colours on a brioche background. If that's the case, you should use one or two colours to make the brioche background, and treat the colours that you use to make cables as segments worked in intarsia. That means that you will use a certain colour only within the stitches of a certain cable. It will be a bit confusing but it seems that you are up to the challenge :-) Good luck!
