Share spells should work with Conjure Woodland Beings and while I don't see Vex trying to double up on damage with it via herself and Trinket moving in and out of melee range (I think together without including grapple stuff, they could trigger this like 4 times?) its an option for them if they wanted.
When even after all this time the ranger still requires homebrew to be good. Shame of Wotc for being so incompetent they can't even balance a game they've been working on for decades.
Just an idea that popped into my head while watching the video, but I wonder if Vex wouldn't work better as something like Vengeance Paladin 6/Lore Bard 14? Could just use Find Steed as a stand in for Trinket (the spell says the creature is large and can look how you want, if it can be a warhorse/camel/elk/dire wolf, I don't think a bear would be out of line). By the time the first campaign went up, I think they were in the 7-9 level range, in that range the character would have 9 skills, and expertise to help make up for stat deficiencies (probably something like 13/17/12/8/8/16. At Bard 6, could try to grab a couple of spells to help boost damage. Mercer doesn't hate homebrew, could see him allowing some ranged smites, but even without, I think it'd work reasonably.
Well done. I was a little surprised you used peace domain when the start was 2024 options only. I get it, thematically it fits, and at lvl 18 it doesn’t break a game. In tier one or two, it’s way over powered.
@@cmccbuilds8229 well tbh, I haven’t played in tier 4 since AD&D, so I wouldn’t know. I guess prof bonus at +6 makes it a lot stronger than I thought. I personally don’t use Tasha’s clerics, too OP for my taste.
A little surprised you stuck with Ranger for so long... I thought the "optimized" thing to do was leave at level 7. P.S. My understanding of the Shade Creepers in early campaign 3 was that since they were shadow, and bright light would do it. But you're likely even more into the Crunch than I am 😜
Given that this is an optimized multiclass level 20 build, why not end up Ranger 16 / Cleric 4 so that levels 19 and 20 EACH yield their own epic boon?
According to the Heavy Property, you only need a 13 Dex to use the Longbow. You only need a 13 in Str to use a Heavy Melee weapon. …. Unless you are using Great Weapon Master, As I was corrected XD Speaking from experience, having been playing an Elf Trickery Cleric with True Strike to wield a Maul/Longbow, you only need both if you plan to use both Melee AND Ranged Heavy weapons
Laura would never dump Charisma, and Vex was going to be a rogue. This was pointless. A character a player has no interest in playing is not optimized. How YOU see the character is irrelevant. If you're going to do this, retain their choices (their attribute and class choices).
How I see the character is literally the exercise. 'She was going to be a rogue' doesn’t matter. She picked Ranger. And Ranger/rogue isn’t great in 2024. Would you have liked me to do the exact same build and just read what she did? lol.
@cmccbuilds8229 i think he means if Vex had a 9 Charisma and a 7 intelligence then it's not the same character anymore. She would be as stupid as Grog and so useless in social encounters as Grog. Wait Grog is still better at it because he has a plus 1 Charisma and she has a minus 1. Vex being a cleric also doesn't make sense at all given her general indifference and disdain for the gods. I get that 2024 ranger/rogue is bad. Why are you using the 2024 rules then? Because it's popular? Honestly i don't see the appeal of the new books. I'm told the new options are stronger and i look at my backlog of homebrew and they blow 2024 subclasses out of the water. So why pay 70 dollars for a book i already own, for subclasses that are already weaker than what i have at home? Most of these "changes" have already been in my game for 4 years now. The Mage Knight from The Warriors Codex spanks 2024 Eldritch knight like a naughty child. It's not even close. I have a alternate rogue/ranger by laserllama and he's a pretty strong character. Mostly because he has level 1 fighting style and magic, a scaling hunters mark that's a class feature not a spell, and can concentrate on spells as well. He can dish out some good damage with duel short swords and a shortbow. Forest gnome for the race.
I just dont understand why are you talking about the half elf as If it doenst exist anymore? Bugbear wanst in the 14 phb and it still was a playable race, so was kenku, tortle and dozens of others, even the game developers said that the older species are still available, this inst a new game with only 2 books, its a balance update , also aside from that heroic inspiration is WAY stronger than any measly spell the elf can give
The half elf is no longer a playable race in 2024. To play a half elf, you must do one of the three things I listed. Half elf wasn’t left out for balance reasons ie "because it is fine as is". It was left out to effectively remove it from the game.
I think it was said that the city there father is from is mostly wood elves. But he definitely acts like the stereotype of a high elf

Good call out!

Wouldn't it be better to take Cleric 4 at lvl 20 to get a 2nd epic boon than lvl 17 ranger?
Saving that for the next build shhh!
In all seriousness, I prefer the 5th level spells, but I can be convinced otherwise
@cmccbuilds8229 Ahhhh... I didn't consider that, I thought you were doing it it just for precise hunter!

I get it, thematically it fits, and at lvl 18 it doesn’t break a game. In tier one or two, it’s way over powered.
It's just a much stronger option in tier 4 than Light Cleric. If I was taking cleric in tier 1, I'd have stuck to 2024 options and gone with Light.

Well “sunlight sensitivity” was always sunlight. Maybe it’s just “bright light sensitivity” now lol. Idk
no views at 1 minute? wow cmcc fell off :(
but honestly i really like these vids, they show how you can be optimizing without comprimising roleplay
Nah bud, most of these choices about optimizing are really questionable
@@MegaRyuki they are in character choices. but it shows you can create a strong character without being bland

5th level spells, and my next build. See the other comment ;)
Other build is on patreon btw :)

The 13 strength is for GWM
Oh you right!
Daylight not creating actual daylight was a unforced error. Glad thats fixed.

Who is this directed towards lol?

half elves were “replaced” by the new half-race rules, which is to take one of the two races and play that, and just say you are a half-whatever
