For those interested, I looked at this video and tried to find a tier in gen 7 that Poliwrath would be viable in. Funnily enough, it actually can function in Gen 7 OU. With a defensive set, Poliwrath can counter Ash-Greninja, Protean ninja not packing Extrasensory (Which none of them do, unless you're me XD), Heatran, Mega Scizor, Blacephalon, both Gyarados forms (though it's a softer check, but it balances out since unfortunately neither of the Gyarados forms are big metagame threats), Volcarona, Keldeo, and rain teams in general. Here's the set: Poliwrath @ leftovers Ability: Water Absorb 252 sp.def, 252 hp, 4 atk Sassy/ Careful nature Rock Slide Scald/Toxic Circle Throw Protect This set can check the aforementioned threats very well, though it will need support since it has no recovery aside from leftovers and the one-time Water Absorb heal if your opponent doesn't know it can have that ability. That is obsurd in balancing plus Poliwrath got a 10 point stat buff in gen 6 And what I am pointing is politoed in gen 6 politoed did not get a 10 point stat buff in gen 6 And you're saying poliwrath needs more buffs!? Some people cant just think straight on why things happen
Gen 1: Absolutely amazing, one of the best Pokemon competitively. Gen 2: Very solid but threatened due to the rise of Bug-type moves. Gen 3: Only really relevant in Ubers thanks to Groudon, who was a presence on Sun teams, where it is able to sweep effectively. Gen 4: Basically a Venusaur for Trick Room teams. Gen 5: Much more mediocre of a sun sweeper than in Gen 3 due to the presence of new threats, but still fairly okay for sun teams. Gen 6: Best Chlorophyll user in NU definitely means something, but it requires a lot of support and the Sun nerf was awful.

Hitmontop still is VERY good in doubles; what with Intimidate, Fake Out, Quick Guard, and Wide Guard. When a single mon can hard counter AoE Sweepers and Priority Attackers, while assisting with setup by lowering enemy attack and forcing priority flinch, it's a pretty damn good mon.
That video will just make me sad.... I honestly tried for a week straight to make Flareon good with trick room or any other combination. It cannot be done. Too slow for most META, to fast for proper trick room. And shitty bulk, which might have helped.

Vulpix Videos just like Rhydon and Rhyperior, NU tier, sure it can use a Weakness Policy combined with Sturdy and Rock polish set, but even at 2+ speed it can get outsped by lots of top tier Pokemon like Starmie, Infernape, Keldeo, Floatzel, ect. And can be revenge killed by priority users like Scizor and Metagross with Bullet punch, Mach punch users like Infernape again, Hitmontop, Conkeldurr, etc. With no recovery, low speed and that Rock/Ground typing with so many weaknesses, Golem will never be top tier, it's sad but true
Poliwrath's one of my personal favorites. Hope they give it some of that long-overdue love. (I say give it a mega form that answers the question of why it's still not a frog yet.) At least it got the last laugh over Politoed in gen 6, watching it slide all the way down to PU.

For most generations, Dugtrio was UU or OU. In gen 7, Dugtrio is RU, but it can be actually used in ubers.
Dugtrio seems like a good choice since his stats are kind of weird and he has an incredible ability.

Vulpix Videos just like Rhydon and Rhyperior, NU tier, sure it can use a Weakness Policy combined with Sturdy and Rock polish set, but even at 2+ speed it can get outsped by lots of top tier Pokemon like Starmie, Infernape, Keldeo, Floatzel, ect. And can be revenge killed by priority users like Scizor and Metagross with Bullet punch, Mach punch users like Infernape again, Hitmontop, Conkeldurr, etc. With no recovery, low speed and that Rock/Ground typing with so many weaknesses, Golem will never be top tier, it's sad but true

Poliwrath's one of my personal favorites. Hope they give it some of that long-overdue love. (I say give it a mega form that answers the question of why it's still not a frog yet.) At least it got the last laugh over Politoed in gen 6, watching it slide all the way down to PU.
