I really like this woman's reviews. Our ss, and ball striking abilities are similar and, as a consequence, our iron and driving distances are similar. That is so refreshing and informative for me as most testers here on RUclips are guys that (whether pro or amateur) really mash the ball so much so that I can't relate to their numbers and, as a consequence, their reviews are inconsequential to older or moderate or slow swing speed guys like myself. Keep up the good work lady.

Another bang on and relatable review. Thanks Sophie. When I can pick up a brand new custom fit set of i210 for £600 I'm fairly sure the i59 aren't going to be three times as good. Price point seems too expensive to me.
Nice review Sophie. I’ve seen several i59 vids and wasn’t aware of the different models. You educated me.
For us more human golfers this club makes sense for 9i, PW and GW because of the dispersion you demonstrated. It has the possibility of really making your 50 yard and green side game better if your willing to have a mixed set. Thanks again Sophie, much respect!

Great review, as always. But what I don't get is Ping says it's as forgiving as the i210. It also performs very similar to the i210, etc. So why would you buy this at $275 USD/club when you can get the i210 for $125 USD/club ?????? What am I missing ?
I bought a set of i59 (standard loft) irons in July 2022. By October I had given up on them.
To my eye they are the best looking clubs on the market at address. Gorgeous clubs. And I like the hydropearl finish.
But Sophie is right. "They just don't go anywhere."
With 7-iron (85 mph club speed) I was getting 135 yards.
In October I was fitted for Mizuno Pro 221 blades. 7-iron distance jumped to 165 yards. The feel is better. Everything is better.
I predict Ping will make changes sooner than normal. They have to know by now that they produced a dud.
I haven't seen a single review where anyone has concluded that they were going in the bag.
So I take it sophie would be a candidate for the power spec lofts since ehse mentions them not going quite as far?
When PXG & TM are squirting foam into the cavity of their hollow-bodied Irons it's interesting that PING are Plasma welding an aluminium core into theirs. It would be fascinating to hear from PING why they are doing this (it's obviously a much more expensive process) and what they see as the benefits.
They do look nice though.

Wonderful review, Sophie! I currently play the i10 irons and looking to upgrade. Not sure the i59’s would be the best fit for my game.
Did you end up getting them?
Im 6'3 single digit handicapper and I can't swing those LS shafts she is swinging - and I play X100's.. The LS are stouter than the Px LZ, which are stout on their own. No wonder Sophie lost a few yards. Id love to see her review these in a Modus 105. The Px LS is a "one size fits nobody" shaft.

There are lots of great products on the market. I’d argue no set of irons will improve your game more than the next comparative set. They look nice, but so do tm titleist mizuno srixon etc.
Sophie, switching my Gen 1 pxg xf (wide soles) for more mid size soles/tops like i210 vs your p770 vs apex? overall help? cheers f AZ!

Still using 716 cb's, and these look like exactly the kind of thing that could replace them. Shame about the price though.... I really dont understand how the price of clubs has gone up so much in 10 years (its scary).. My last set was Mizuno MP-52, and it cost £700 for 3-pw, how times have changed!
35% inflation since 2008 (UK), plus skyrocketing material costs. Lots of industries are also making a big jump in prices in 2021 trying to get ahead of the big leap in costs (container shipping costs are up 5-6x from a year ago for instance) from the last year.
The cost of clubs is going from the sublime to the ridiculous. Apparently the new wedges are £200 per club ! £200 for a wedge !!!
The face on these clubs is not forged, only the body. I think the price on these clubs is ridiculous compared to great irons like Mizuno and Callaway which are better performers.
Fantastic looking clubs you only get what you pay for, ping don't make bad clubs full stop
Unless you making money playing golf, $259/club HARD NO bro! And This is not even one piece forged iron as face is welded on .. as an engineer I don’t consider them forged.
If the club contains more then 60% construction forged .. you
Can stamp forged. Sad!

Yes they look the biz but tooooo expensive at nearly £2000 I'd rather have the taylormade irons and I've had ping irons for over 10 years.
Regardless of how good these are there must be many sets on the market that do a similar job for 500 quid less..
Thats the cost of a driver...
Way too overpriced
I don't have a tour-level game or a tour-level budget, so this is a hard pass for me.
Golf clubs at this point are simply repackaged aesthetics year after year with silly price increases. It’s a great club for the goofballs, who replace their clubs every year because they are mainly shoppers worried about the appearance of what’s in their bag. 😆
Pretty bad you step on the absolute slabs you've taken rather than replacing the divot.
It’s a habit I have after every shot from the ground. I even do it from a mat. Don’t worry I pick the divot up and replace it. It’s just edited out of the vidoe
I think Ping have lost the plot. Given the price of this over- engineered replacement my i blades are not going anywhere in the next couple of years.
Well, I have no money, and have no game. So I’m screwed.
They probably look good but definitely not £1500 good
for that kind of money I'd rather go for P7TW or even Miura
