Although rarely played nowadays, it is my #1 Genesis song. Composed by Tony Banks, it shows the high class of music they were able to play and perform. it never ranked in the charts as number 1 hit of the band. Musical success does not always coincide with chart hits.

      The Knife
      Can Utility and the Coastliners
      SUPPERS READY
      CINEMA SHOW

      Carpet Crawlers
      Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
      The Lamia
      Dance on a Volcano
      Entangled
      Mad Man Moon
      RIPPLES
      LOS ENDOS
      Eleventh Earl of Mar
      One for the Vine
      Blood on the Rooftops
      Afterglow
      Deep in the Motherlode
      Burning Rope
      Down and Out
      Duke's Travels/Duke's End

      Come on.

Back when Phil was arguably the finest drummer / percussionist in the world. This also highlights Michael Rutherford. Anyone remember Smallcreep's Day? In this era (2024) I truly respect how Steve Hackett has preserved the music they composed prior to this. What an exceptional body of lifetime work. Amazing, ... Thank you all for enriching my life in so many ways.

Legendary song and album. Been a blast enjoying Phil's music, and what an inspiration he is with his music and Genesis. Wishing you all the best bud, and thank you for everything, and inspiring. One of my favorite tracks this is. Genesis is exteremly under-rated, espically with this album. True masterpiece.

    • @rikaardyyz3039
      @rikaardyyz3039 Год назад

I've never thought they were underated, it's just yes there are some but few who like all of Genesis but there's a distinct chance in style after " wind and Wuthering".
Personally I didn't rate and then there etc.
Each to their own , more power to you outta what You like.
But they defo fell under the impression influence of Phil crying into his beer over a hell of a lot of songs.
I personally can't think of a post Hackett genesis song that I can play again and again, Not like Cinema show or one for the vine or Squonk or Dance on a volcano.
Very talented drummer who admits that by the 80s his best Drumming was behind him.,
1972 for ten years he was great , especially on " seconds out " and Brand X 🤙.
I don't think you can call any Genesis after seconds out or ok Trick of the tale " classic " .
Yeah " selling England by the pound " now that was classic.
Phil was brilliant But it's a travesty that last your went ahead.
Ok he can't Drum but it's not so much that his voice ( no fault of his own ) was horrendous.
The poor guys got a bad physical condition, you can't sing from a chair, it's not like he just couldn't stand the guy was ill had zero vocal projection or the power to even try.
Should of gone out on a high and left it years ago.
Unless they needed a ££££ too up.
Still music will always be there which ever tracks we prefer 🤙✌️

Even though the band though And Then There Were 3 was to "boxy" and perhaps a tad more poppy than they were accustomed, I love the showcase..Phil shows in the tune his greatness as a vocalist...Little Nemo is just an unbelievable cut also..heck it's a super album in my humble book, I own every piece of music they ever released commercially, to me it is just solid stuff

i think the album itself is different from the preceding releases(pre-1978),but to be honest, genesis were already a progressive band to start with.
this song in particular opened up a new world for them, and from then came the genesis we didnt expect-hell yeahXD

for me , also is an album that I ll remenber in my life good memories, and I love And then there were three like no other album of Genesis , also Anthony Banks said ... something like this: I like And then more than I would want.... any more to say?.... me too I think that is a wrong thing thinking that Genesis could become over after Peter ... GOD SAVE GENESIS ... they are all to me!

Transposed the date. It's not 1987 but 1978. First album after Steve Hackett left.

This is one of Tony Banks' favourite songs but Phil is apparently not so keen on it, which is probably why it didn't get played.
