In the US military, we are taught that an unlawful order is any order that is illegal, immoral, or unsafe. The US military is not obliged to obey an unlawful order, regardless of who gives that order, including the Commander-in-Chief.
Only Doctors have qualifications to decide emergency care and health care!
These days, medical research shows that the most effective medical care includes patient involvement in the medical decision-making process, rather than having doctors dictate down to the patient what needs to happen in their own health care decision-making process.

There are certainly unlawful orders that can and should be refused. It may take a backbone to say no, but sometimes that is what the job requires.
Backbone is something politicians don't have.

I say this without having done a deep dive into her judgement history, but wouldn't it be cool if Justice Coney Barrett's hardcore religious beliefs mean that she takes seriously her role & the promises she's made to God & society in swearing to uphold the law, and keeping the two things separate. Wouldn't that be something?
