Clear and concise. Thank you! I was happy to see that when I compared your dart calculations to the method I learned 35 years ago, it came out the same. Nice to have the confirmation!
@@PatternStudio101 it's a bit different but turns out almost exactly the same: 1/2 the drop goes to the side seams, 1/3 to the back darts and 1/5 to the front darts.
Hi, I use only inches in my old videos. But you can see cm subtitles in my new videos. Even if I talk only inches, there's always cm text on the screen. Thank you 😊

Hi Jin, happy new year! I have a question. I have a pants pattern that looks all right and everything thing matches what you mentioned in your master class, except that the crease line is not in the center of the crotch line, for both front and back. I made a sample of this pattern, it fits me perfectly. My question is: is that anything wrong that I didn't notice?
Happy New Year!! If the pants fit you great, no worries. The bottom line is that our body shapes are unique. There's no absolute rule for pattern-making.
Hello Jen, I have a question about the “Rise” : Do you recommend we measure from the waist to the crotch at the Center Front, or from The waist to the crotch, at the side seam? Thanks for all your fabulous tutorials!
Hello Jin, thank you for these great tutorials. I am hoping to get started drafting a pair of shorts soon. Is the crease line the same thing as grain line when I lay the pattern out on my fabric?
Pant drop is the difference between waist circumference and hip circumference. Use this term with inches. Watch this video. ruclips.net/video/ocHVhL6gK_o/видео.html
So if I draft the shorts using body measurements with no added ease, except for the extra 1” on the back, then this draft is going to be skin tight, right? Would this be considered more like a moulage?
Hi. where is the "how to measure guide"? I could not find it on your website. I would like to know some more information on how to calculate rise height.
Hi mam, How to find knitted pant knee measurment. Ex:Buyer measurment chart all BOM included but knee measurment missing, so how to find knee measurment . measurment all are centimeters. I hope you problem solved from you.
Hi, there's no rule for the knee measurement. But if you have a thigh and ankle measurements, then the knee should be in between. But it really depends on the design. 😊

Easiest one I’ve followed! Great job will be using the back one next.
Thank you. Enjoy 😊

The fit depends on the fabric. 1” ease might be skin tight for some fabric, not for others.

Hello ma'am can you do a video of pleated shorts pattern making?
Okay, I'll make one 😉
Pls help me,For which type of belly shape we subtract 1/4" or 1/8" from crotch debth
Hi, I love your tutorial. But I don’t understand what “drop” and “rise” is. I’m new to sewing.
Drop is the difference between waist and hip measurement.
Rise is the distance between the crotch line and hip line.
Hi, what software do you use and do you have a tutorial on it?
Hi, I'm using PAD system and I do have tutorial videos. If you go to my Playlist, you will see PAD tutorials. 16 videos there so far.
Olá..como posso calcular as medidas em cm. Não estou conseguindo😢
hi, are darts necessary? if so, how come?
Because darts make body shape.
Please back neck deep pattan
Hi, how do I calculate the hip length?
You don't calculate the hip length. You measure it. From the waistline to the hip line.
Hi can I use it to sew man 👨 pants
Yes, you can apply this method for man's pant!
The crotch extension you have taken, is it full circumference or half front circumference?
Can you please explain differently? I don’t understand your question. Full or half circumference of what?
She meant to say the crotch extention you took of hip /16 that is of full hip circumference or half hip circumference???? Pls reply
@@PatternStudio101 she meant to say that crotch extention you took is that is hip /16. So it full hip circumference or half ???
@@shurahbiltharani9891 Hip circumference is full hip circumference measurement. And divided it by 8 or 16 etc.
