  • Pant crotch can be a tricky part that many pattern makers struggle with, but I've got you covered. Once you understand how to structure the pant crotch, adjusting it becomes a breeze.
    In today's video, I break down the terms "crotch height" and "crotch depth". And I show you what points you have to consider when it comes to crotch adjustments. I want you to have a basic understanding of pant pattern structure so that you make pant pattern adjustments with ease for your needs.

    My name is Jin Kim and I have been a professional pattern maker for over 20 years.
    While I had one-on-one teaching besides my full-time work, I could teach only a few people. So, I created a RUclips channel in 2021 to reach out to more people so that they can get benefits from my experience.
    This channel is all about pattern makings. You’re in the right place if you are a young professional or a fashion student who wants to improve your pattern-making skills.

    you are much effective!you really help my life with the extra info and experience you share.I'd be intersted to know how you became knowledgable and comfortable around clothing patterning and construction in general.Is it because of school education,work experience,books and learning from the elder,anything else? i would be happy to learn about it.
    don't know you as a person,but i acknowledge your work creation.i'm glad you are here communicating together

    Excellent video still a little confused does the crotch depth differ for men and I am new to sewing a lot of my pants the seam splits in the crotch not the sewing but the fabric i really want to make pants with ease of movement like the pants in Japan in the farmer s or Slavic, Norse pants nothing fance just durable and feels good i am going to check out the other 2 video you mentioned thanks again really well done

    Hi! Liked your information a lot but I also wanted to know how to calculate or measure for high, mid and low rise pants. Thank you .

    • @PatternStudio101
      @PatternStudio101  4 месяца назад

      First, you find your basic crotch depth and height. After that, several things affect the rise. You can keep the waist and lower the rise. Or if your waist is big, the pants will sit lower. It makes the rise lower. And also you can adjust either the rise height or depth.

    안녕하세요. 강의 잘 들었습니다. 한국분으로서 영어로 설명 대단하시고 같은 한국인으로서 자랑스럽네요. 네 답글 드리자면 비율과 밸런스 관점은 잘 들었습니다. 크러치 포인트 설명이라면 조금 아쉬운건 합복에따른 관점과 스펙에 따른 관점 등 여러 포인트가 있을것같은데 원론적인 부분 설명주신것같아서 보시는분들이 변화무쌍한 바지 패턴을 공식처럼만 외우시진 않을지. 결국 크러치 포인트 나가고 안나가고는 허리 너비, 시리, 허벅지 너비, 합복 등 복합적으로 고려되야는 부분이라

    If i reduce or increase crotch depth then the grain line of pants will not be in the middle of croth line. Should i do something with grain line as well?

    • @PatternStudio101
      @PatternStudio101  3 месяца назад

      Grain line will be the same. But I think you are talking about crease line. Center of the leg. Yes, crease line will move as you revise the crotch width.
