Question please. Thank you for the video, it was very helpful. Yet will the taking of probiotics around this time exacerbate the fungal infection? Especially those with psoriasis, eczema and so forth?
You know when all of a sudden a doctor makes complete sense and finally treats a health issue with in depth information, with supporting medical studies, all of which is eye opening? That does not happen every day.... I am impressed
I went on an antihistamine diet. Within days my body, stomach felt calm, my skin glowed, my eyes were clear, my sleep 😊was amazing i slept all night without waking, woke up refreshed and had energy all day.
As someone who has struggled with fungal over growth for years and years and I can attest for his diet recommendations. Have been low carb keto/ carnivore and all symptoms have improved drastically. I’ve spent years trying and testing diets and seeing specialists. The Dr treads lightly with what he recommends rightfully so. These are suggestions and guidelines. Every body and ecosystem is different. Take your health and well being into your own hands. Another monumental instrument in my recovery has been stress reduction. All social media gone. No news. No gossip. Time spent outside, with family or exercising or reading or mediating. No sugar no stress good luck everyone and thank you doctor for fighting the good cause. Hope you have a fantastic new year
I recently began listening to more of your super helpful informative videos- I remain SO INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL for you!! I couldnt seem to and didnt put the pieces of my health together until I listened to you. I have struggled since a baby with my health - histamine is for sure an issue for me and so is sibo and also candida (no wonder water or no eating feels the best! Ha ha). I have had other health thgs that have effected my digestive tract and multiple surgeries - gut biome is indeed an issue. Digestive motility disorder also issue and now currently a structural digestive tract issue from a life saving needed surgery. There is more also however i am determined to be best i can in all ways and i am researching best i can. I am so so GRATEFUL for you! I have continued to believe in my wellbeing and health - You are helping me so much and words cant fully express all of my gratitude. 🙏🏻💜
I have had gut problems my whole life. I am nearly 60. I have tried every diet under the sun. It got worse and worse body so inflamed I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have cut out gluten diary was only eating unprocessed food and only healthy foods. Loads of lemons, drinking kombucha, walnuts dates as a treat. I was just getting worse. I have just found the histamine diet and I have been on it for 3 days and not even strict and its helping. I can even eat some brad as long as its soda bread or pitta bread. Which has been amazing.
I would add from experience that 1) the list of low histamine foods is subjective. 2) If you get reactions from probiotics, try opening the capsule and sprinkling the smallest dose you can handle 3) alphalipoic acid has worked for me (removes toxins such as mercury) to reduce anxiety and food sensitivity.
Thank you so much for sharing! And yes, some high histamine or even histamine-releasing foods affect certain people differently. Everyone has their own intolerances - we just provide general guidelines to follow and adapt as you need.
I will watch all this several times, so much information, so glad I found this and I am very surprised how many things I have not studied up on regarding IBS and how many different factors I will still need to look at.

Such a great video thank you for covering this!! Still working with this!! Working with Sibo/Fungal Overgrowth & Histamine Intolerance at the same time is difficult to deal with when it comes to the diet!! Dao is a life saver!!
The amount of value presented in this video is remarkable! Honestly, this video and your previous video on vector-borne disease are RUclips gems. Gut bifurcation of bacterial and fungal overgrowths are super neat to discover. I wonder if both could exist simultaneously 🤔 Yikes. Thanks Doc! Your time and your team's work is well received and appreciated
I'd love to hear more on the possibility of a mold infection. What tests are there for checking for mold infections? Can long term use of an antibiotic cause issues with mold or yeast/candida OG. treatments and so on. Will a mold infection make someone histamine intolerant? Great vid as well!
Thanks for this information. I've been following a lower histamine diet for the past several weeks and I've found that it's helped clear up the almost completely block sinuses I get at around 4 AM in the morning. I found it difficult to follow though considering I've been following Low Fodmap at the same time. I thought it might help with me falling asleep earlier, but it made no change to my sleep. I have quite a few health issues at this point with some being quite severe. This stuff isn't easy to figure out. It's just about managing symptoms as best you can to maintain your sanity. I really like your advice about not "micromanaging" the gut as well. That's always been my approach
I’m so glad you’ve seen some improvement. Keep trying and don’t give up. I know it’s incredibly frustrating but you’re doing amazing work to take care of yourself.
Huge thanks to you for the video! It is so helpful, gave me inspiration to move on with my diet and work on repairing my health. What you do is precious ❤
What a treasure you are doc. Thank you so much for putting in the time to help those with HIT. It is such a frustrating issue to have. I have had it for 10 years. Not sure if it was triggered by perimenopause or too much kimchi. I also have very high copper levels so it’s hard to pinpoint what is the cause. Everything worse in spring. Face and eyes swelling. Citrus, tomatoes, fermented foods, are huge triggers. But strangely not red wine. Have you any experience with Megasporebiotics or spore based probiotics? Healing the gut sounds like the key. Or at least a good start. Many of us with HIT live hoping one day this issue will be solved and we can enjoy life again. Thank you doc. Have subscribed 🙏
Thank you so much for your kind comment. I’m so sorry you’ve been suffering to so long but glad you’ve continued to persevere. I don’t have personal experience with megasporebiotics but have heard good things - though it’s worth noting that lots of people with HI say they react to probiotics.
Great info! Really nice overview of treatment approaches and considerations. I have both histamine intolerance and MCAS from a combination of SIBO/gut dysbiosis and from Lyme and CIRS. I’m always looking for more information on how to improve my histamine issues.
My problem with the advice that we need to restore bacterial balance in our gut is most probiotics increase histamine or trigger MCAS. I’ve been through over half a dozen probiotics and they all made me very ill and I’ve not found a practitioner yet that is aware of any probiotics that don’t cause a histamine reaction. Every single time my doctor cleared my SIBO and started to restore gut balance again by including probiotics, the overgrow to returned. Been through this numerous times now since 2018. My ND gave me HCL and I ended up with esophagitis.
Brand: Seeking Health Product: ProBiota HistaminX They have other products for histamines, but I found giving up supps, eating skinless chicken breast and butter helped give my gut a rest. Now I can eat wet aged steaks and eggs. Have to cook whites thoroughly though.
Forgot to ask, how does your doc know if SIBO is clear? Breath test? Those are woefully Inaccurate by the looks of things ie, if you have leaky gut the gases emitted by the SIBO can go through your lining, plus other mishaps.
Thank you for sharing - I’m so sorry to hear this. How are you doing now? It’s also possible to repopulate the gut through strategic diet alone, which may make it easier to manage your histamine intolerance. Have you found success with that?
@ I still struggle. Now I was told just to take antimicrobials every few months since I can’t restore gut health with probiotics. I’ve been looking for a book that explains which diet helps restore healthy balanced gut bacteria but so far no luck. I can control SIBO symptoms to an extent with the SCDiet. I can mostly prevent MCAS flares with a low histamine diet. But Ive dropped to 106 lbs from 140 so it has been rough. I know if I could restore gut health I’d be good, it’s just figuring out how to do that when I can’t take probiotics or eat fermented foods like yogurt. 😞
@@TheNaturemamabummer dude, what is SC diet? Before I jabber on, do you have a root canal or crown, etc? Sometimes people's years long gut problems begin in the mouth or sinuses, and dental work like that can create a pocket in which sibo/LIBO can make a home... Constantly leaking into the stomach and gut. Some peeps are cured in 24 to 48 hours after they get the dentistry redone/replaced/reworked. Back to my story that might help yours: I was heading for a wheelchair from arthritis and chronic fatigue this year. I tried probably every elimination diet over the last decade plus for what seems to be MCAS/SIBO/LIFO/HI/EDS/POTS/oxalates/CFS/leaky gut/whateva... All I got was worse, sometimes the changes worked for a day or two, but soon everything came back and continued to worsen. My dietitian gave up in July and said "try carnivore" (I can't digest plants), she also prescribed ElementAll Diet because of my low weight (Dr. Ruscio sells something that looks the same). I started carnivore with skinless chicken breast roasted, eaten with lots of cold butter and salt (iodised!!) . Supplementing w/ ElementAll between meals, concentrating on giving my gut a rest (don't eat too much or too often, chew thoughtfully, a lot) and not feeding sibo/fo/libo/FO (drink ElementAll SLOWLY) . Gradually I was able to get off ElementAll (full of excipients, I was reacting to it) and introduce eggs (thoroughly cook whites) , steak that hasn't been aged long, low carb dairy or small serves of normal. Going to try pork soon. I was trying to go vegan to heal about 5 years ago but it quickly made things worse. I seem to have the fibre problem that Dr. Ruscio talks about in the middle of this video. Veges come out of me looking exactly the same as they go in. Anyway, carnivore turned it all around, and in a matter of weeks, I was doing intense weight sessions... Previous to that I was barely able to walk most of the time. Hope you find what you need.
I really wish you were my doctor. I’ve been dealing with histamine issues for 5 years. I’ve seen 3 gastroenterologists and no answers just prescribed Pepcid. I’ve seen 3 regular doctors and only showed any concerns with my symptoms and ordered an MCAS test, which was negative. I’ve had an upper scope done, my gallbladder checked with no real problems. I have trouble with regular bowel movements, nausea and vomit often, bloating and pain in my digestive system and severe itchy rashes. I had more severe symptoms but they went away after I cut most plant based foods from my diet. I basically had all the symptoms one can have with histamine intolerance. No doctor could figure out what was wrong with me. It took me 3 years of research and a lucky break on a RUclips video to figure out what was going on with me. Now it’s like talking to a wall when I talk to a doctor about it. Thank you for all this information.
Ditto, if I had a doctor specifically for my IBS problems, this doctor would be my choice too. I have learned more in the last 30 minutes than I have the past 5 years about IBS.
In my experience adding any type of probiotics before you control your SIBO is like throwing gasoline on a fire. Controlling SIBO is tricky, it keeps coming back. I had to add HCl and enzymes plus Atrantil or christopher’s Liver &Gallbladder to every meal. This combo keeps my SIBO under control and I am almost back to normal diet (still strictly gluten- free and limit dairy)
I’m so glad to hear you’ve had some improvement! And you’re right - for some, introducing probiotics too early in the process of treating SIBO is like adding fuel to the fire. But for others, probiotics can actually help correct dysbiosis. It’s very individual. That said, we always recommend starting with a low FODMAP diet as a first step, and certainly considering antibiotic or antimicrobial therapy.
I learned from a Seeking Health interview that some probiotics are histamine liberators and I was definitely reacting to L. Casei!! once I found some without that one (good luck - it is everywhere), I am doing great with Dr R's triple probiotic therapy!
brilliant webinar. thank you, Dr. Ruscio. in your knowledge, are there any scientific studies comparing the histamine diet with a fodmap diet in ibs to determine efficacy for symptoms relief? kind regards, Reimara
My daughter who is 5 keeps developing more food allergies… I’ve never seen anything like it before. Her eczema is out of control and I’ve tried everything possible … I’m at loss and experiencing such depression over it

I itch when I have any nuts, onions, garlic and any food that has been processed in a facility with these foods. I have had itching when I've had certain cheeses also. I'm going to try this diet.
Definitely helpful. I have gotten better as I age because I have really changed my overall diet. Curious about almonds being NOT ok but almond milk is a milk option. What about Hemp milk I make?
I'd say the most important part of the video is find a way to get the Stress taking care of, as hard as that is if you can't eat anything. And learn how to time restrict eat, give the gut a break, just my 2 cents after watching many hours of videos. My current wish list of vitamins and Supps is nearing 200$, they can get pricy quickly.
Thankyou for all of the information given about Histamine MCAS . I had mold poisoning I was being treated for up until last December, I was told to add foods slowly back to my diet but I feel like I'm going backwards ..I'm not really 💯 sure what to eat..I also have pins and needles and pain in my body dizzy spells ect...I'm trying to do every thing natural with herbs ect.. i have die off symptoms, been sick a few times passing out, bloating burbing sifo..to add to it I have a hiatus hernia and in pain feeling pretty fed up..uric acid levels are high to..
I been dealing with Mold for decades. Not sure what you are doing for it but the RX Itraconozole is the only thing that helped me. I spent literally well over 6 figures on diets, labs, supplements, and functional medicine docs and it was all a big waste of money.

you recommended green tea, which is one of the biggest histamine triggers... or is that a specific type that doesn't trigger the way regular green tea does? or is it an extract in supplement form? although I think he said 3 cups... I'm confused. I had to give up my daily green tea. how can I have it back without the triggers?
I watched again, and his avoid list includes green tea, as it should. so why later in video does he say to include it? I feel like I'm missing an important differentiation or detail here...
Congratulations. You’ve identified an exogenous trigger that affects you. Avoid it or limit it in the context of your overall consumption of items that collectively raise your exposure to histamine or liberators of it
@lori3637 is that so? interesting. But it is still one of my biggest histamine triggers. I decided to try this special type to see if it is really different but sadly no. In fact , I had a new reaction added to the list where my forearm got so itchy and inflamed I wanted to rip off my skin!😭
One List (on your website) is without any nuts and seeds. And in the video you show that chia, macadamia… are ok. What is correct now please? Also almonds are not ok but almond milk is allowed.
I’m sorry to hear that. There are some formulated for histamine intolerance, but if they aren’t working for you, you don’t necessarily need them to get/be well.
Have you ever tried Megaspore biotics? I’ve started slow and so far it hasn’t triggered me. The spore based biotics have extensive research for Leaky Gut.
You need to look at the actual FODMAP list of foods in greater detail because it's not just the histamine but what type of histamine that you can narrow down. Some people will be really sensitive to glucose for example so the lost will show all the foods that either do or don't have it and what are or aren't safe levels to consume. Some foods will be labeled red meaning avoid, yellow meaning a certain amount can be eaten but more than that can raise it high and green meaning you can eat it safely. Please be aware if you look at it carefully and understand what histamines are causing issues then you can understand what gut critters may be acting up. If the histamine patterns are "sugar" based then the chances of it being candid are higher and you can look at that closer and be able to confirm and treat better. FODMAP diet is a temporary treatment and you want people to eat as many foods as they can for good health. Also, foods like wheat and dairy are more complicated because of how things are grown/raised and processed so sensitivity to that can be the cause. Even the differences in what breed of dairy cow the milk is from can cause gut issues. Something to seriously consider using with nutrition in a plan would be red light therapy for a variety of reasons relating to biome health and specifically in the cells sonce mitochondria actually will take up excess glucose in the system causing lowering of blood sugars and stabilizing the gut environment. Dr. Kruse would be a great place to start in understanding these ideas and the body would produce and use melatonin naturally to balance itself and taking oral melatonin wouldn't be needed and should be done with caution anyway according to newer research.
Bacon and sardines almost killed me! Not for me. Doesn't Vit C convert to oxalates, for those that are not only histamine intolerant, but oxalate sensitive as well?
I have found anytime I ingest a heavier carb, I get pre-atrial contractions. This may fall in line with histamine intolerance. As a practitioner, have you found a specific probiotic to treat and have you seen this clinically?
Interesting that vitamin C is good, but citrus fruit should be avoided? I am very sad that my favourite foods are on the avoid list... spinach, kippers, natto, kimchi, sauerkraut, dried fruit, chocolate, naturally cured meats, naturally aged cheese... these are thing I eat daily. I know it's a temporary thing for a greater good.
I believe I have cell mast activation syndrome. I've had many symptoms since childhood and I'm 60 years old. My symptoms are getting worse and worse. I've been taking L Rhamnosus but I'm going to try Saccharomyces Boulardii. I tried luteolin with rutin (I took only 15 mg) and felt nauseous and spaced out after both times I took it.
why to wait a few monts until taking DAO supplement until you see the improvement. you can't just take it now still make all the changes but also adding the dao supplements? you still changing the habbits( the root cause) but add dao supplement for faster recovery?
why is there zero mention of avoiding aged meats such as beef and all ground meats for high histamine content? and all forms of pork that are histamine liberators? why is there no mention of histamine buildup in leftovers, slow thawing, slow cooking with instructions to cook from frozen and avoid leftovers? many core principles of low histamine diet like these and others are missing here!!

@@alanacreatesdo you mind sharing the brands you are using for the protocol?
@k41418 microbiome labs pyloguard, summit supplements Saccharomyces Boulardii, sanctuary wellness lactospore, Havasu nutrition prebiotic + probiotic
Won't probiotics like L.reuteri wich is supposed to be good for sibo still be good or is it a bad alternative?
brilliant webinar. thank you, Dr. Ruscio. in your knowledge, are there any scientific studies comparing the histamine diet with a fodmap diet in ibs to determine efficacy for symptoms relief? kind regards, Reimara
I also thank you for addressing histamine intolerance in relation to high stomach acid. this might explain my high stomach acidity level.
I ate a bowl of white rice and got palpitations, so exhausting! I didn't know that histamines were a thing
My daughter who is 5 keeps developing more food allergies… I’ve never seen anything like it before. Her eczema is out of control and I’ve tried everything possible … I’m at loss and experiencing such depression over it
Look into vitamin a toxicity I think this will be your answer. Search Grant Genereux
Check out the carnivore diet. Several good channels, Dr Anthony Chaffee, steak and butter gal are two.

Thank you so much for all the info, I've been trying to figure out if I have food allergies or if it's intolerance. I itch when I have any nuts, onions, garlic and any food that has been processed in a facility with these foods. I have had itching when I've had certain cheeses also. I'm going to try this diet.
Can oregano oil be taken long term? I’m going I to month 2 on lower it
Definitely helpful. I have gotten better as I age because I have really changed my overall diet.
Curious about almonds being NOT ok but almond milk is a milk option.
What about Hemp milk I make?
Histamine intolerance or histamine overload leading to hyper reactivity leading to tissue issues?
I read that you don’t need to have MCAS to have histamine flare ups
Are frozen vegetables ok or should they be fresh? Thanks!
None, go carnivore, anthony chaffee
@@paratrooper73been thinking about that
I'd say the most important part of the video is find a way to get the Stress taking care of, as hard as that is if you can't eat anything.
Dr Axe says the only thing that removes mold from the body is natural activated charcoal from coconuts. I´ve been too afraid to try it yet.

you recommended green tea, which is one of the biggest histamine triggers... or is that a specific type that doesn't trigger the way regular green tea does? or is it an extract in supplement form? although I think he said 3 cups...
Avoid it or limit it in the context of your overall consumption of items that collectively raise your exposure to histamine or liberators of it
I thought green tea included quercitin?
@lori3637 is that so? interesting. But it is still one of my biggest histamine triggers. I decided to try this special type to see if it is really different but sadly no. In fact , I had a new reaction added to the list where my forearm got so itchy and inflamed I wanted to rip off my skin!😭
@@alanacreates does dehydration trigger flareups for you? Sometimes in the morning after not drinking water all night I’m sick for hours.
One List (on your website) is without any nuts and seeds. And in the video you show that chia, macadamia… are ok. What is correct now please?
Also almonds are not ok but almond milk is allowed.
I’ve yet to find a probiotic that doesn’t trigger histamine issues
I’m sorry to hear that. There are some formulated for histamine intolerance, but if they aren’t working for you, you don’t necessarily need them to get/be well.
Have you ever tried Megaspore biotics? I’ve started slow and so far it hasn’t triggered me. The spore based biotics have extensive research for Leaky Gut.
@@effigy8620thanks. Will look into it.
Acidophilus
Is an excessive burping I mean excessive all day for a year!!! Part of histamine intolerance? Please answer
It can be, though it can also be a symptom of various other issues, like acid reflux or SIBO.
@@DrRuscioDC thank you so much for responding I appreciate you taking the time Dr. 👍
What supplements do you suggest?
Unfortunately, eating those foods help one thing but avoiding some of the others isn't good either hmm.🤔
Can dehydration from over night cause a flare up in the morning?
Can you explain avoid almonds but almond milk is OK?
Yes please. Same question

I can eat dairy if I get rid of all carbs. Carbs cause me inflammation.
Bacon and sardines almost killed me! Not for me. Doesn't Vit C convert to oxalates, for those that are not only histamine intolerant, but oxalate sensitive as well?
What if your copper and b6 toxic and still have bad histamines
I tried luteolin with rutin (I took only 15 mg) and felt nauseous and spaced out after both times I took it.
thank you. it seems like you need to be your own doctor these days. for everyone reading this i recommend the book the hidden herbs by anette ray

why to wait a few monts until taking DAO supplement until you see the improvement. you can't just take it now still make all the changes but also adding the dao supplements? you still changing the habbits( the root cause) but add dao supplement for faster recovery?
Those were my thoughts too.
Because you could react to the DAO supplement itself. Very common.
As another commenter mentioned, you might react to the supplement, but it’s definitely worth a try!
histamine intolerance is not the same as MCAS
why is there zero mention of avoiding aged meats such as beef and all ground meats for high histamine content? and all forms of pork that are histamine liberators? why is there no mention of histamine buildup in leftovers, slow thawing, slow cooking with instructions to cook from frozen and avoid leftovers? many core principles of low histamine diet like these and others are missing here!!
We’ve covered these in previous videos and articles and you’re absolutely right, they’re very important. Thank you for your comment!
It’s crazy no one here is talking about the hidden herbs by Anette Ray…
Walnuts, lemon, kombucha and dates are all high in histamine, no wonder you are going backwards.
