I used to work with one of my mentor for 6 years. She always speak very clearly and short. I thought that she is lack of emotions till I met long winded leader. I feel how much I appreciate my mentor' style.

Tips in a nutshell: 1. (Force yourself to)Summarize; 2. Have a dialogue instead of a monloguge; 3. Prepare talking points

@@alexanderlyon I recently started coaching my team to refer to talking points as “ listening points” to emphasize the importance of getting that engagement that leads to higher closing ratios. I’m also learning how to shut my mouth more and be more concise. It’s a challenge.

Lot of clutter on RUclips. Your channel is the only one that can clearly address my questions and communication skills gap. Thank you!

    Hi Alex,
    Thanks for the feedback.
Writing concisely is a long term goal for me.
When my sentences are wordy or need further clarification in an academic writing, what should I work on?
The thing is I am trying to list out my responses while I am overthinking.
If I am talking about an unfamiliar topic, what is the best approach to become confident?

Do you provide 1:1 coaching on this topic?

Hi Rick. I'm not doing any coaching currently. You may want to take a look at Lighthouse Communications or Mastertalk. Those are both channels you can take a look at and they do offer coaching. You can follow up by looking at their websites, etc. Feel free to mention my name. I know them both and that'll give them an idea of what you're looking for.

This video has two intros? The irony. Cut to the chase >> 1:13

    • @starkeclipse

I would ague the "second" intro was his explanation of content value. His video format follows a very popular communication strategy: What, So What, Now What. His intro told you *what* the video would be about. The "second" intro told you *why* it matters (so what). And the rest of the video gave you the *actionable next steps* (now what).
