This is brilliant. It seems such a simple thing to do - conscientiously communicate - but clearly it’s not! Catherine delivered such an important message so perfectly.
Thank you, Catherine, for highlighting the importance of conscious communication and sharing your story and knowledge. I value your insights and appreciate you bringing awareness to such an important subject that impacts us all.
We must be aware of the unconscious, that which is outside our consciousness because unconscious thoughts emotions behaviors attitudes biases inclinations cause us to trip. We can be mindful only when we are conscious of the unconscious, that which is outside of our consciousness, all that is automatic and conditioned like our reflex actions anger and our very nature... Once we become conscious of the unconscious we can become mindful and conscious and aware.. And live deliberately.. Consciously.. Mindfully.. With awareness and translate that into conscious communication
Catherine , this is amazing stuff. knowingly or unknowingly we are a victim of mis-communication or missing the context of conscious communication. Thank for bringing such an important aspect of daily life. I truly agree conscious communication brings domino effect and high productivity. Once again thank you.
The content here is extraordinary. Reading a book on the same subject was a transformative experience for me. "Mindful Mastery: Living Intentionally in a Chaotic World" by Kyle Ash
That's awesome thank you for sharing. My book was traditionally published with international rights being sold to UK and they made it business book of the year in 2018. The Million Dollar Handshake. If you get a chance to read it I hope you enjoy it ! 😊
Appreciate how easily we miscommunicate. The number one problem in all businesses and life. Just bringing some consciousness to our own language. Thank you
Sorry I didn’t exactly get what she wanted to tell me because of my English, Could anyone tell me the main point of this Ted talk briefly if it’s possible 🙏 As far as I know, before taking action, people might as well think second thoughts so that we can take away the miscommunication
Hello 👋 we react before we speak ... if we think about the action we just did ...eg the talk and me leaning back ... then used our words to match eg. Do you need to change lanes? ...Then you would decrease the amt of miscommunication you have in life. You see what we think isn't always right ! We need to be more conscious in the present . 🎁
@@kazukisaita8111 miscommunication is the number one biggest problem in all businesses and housholds today . Yet the solution is simple. We need to be present /conscious of our actions and think about our responses in the moment. Thank you for your response:)
@@catherinemolloy1 thank you for this video, conscious communication. How do I practice this? Should I prepare myself before hand? Or just before doing any action, think. How to put this into practice daily? 13:53
Yes, it's about being present and conscious of our thoughts, which domino into actions and words. Sometimes, we need to explain our actions so as to not confuse the other person !
hmnnn!!! Interesting isn't it ... One part of our commuication is just being aware of our micro expressions, and what we are thinking to help avoid miscommunication , however, you may find writing it out first will help you when delivering what it is you want to say. x
My communication is a mess. I've used humour all my life to avoid showing up authentically. Sometimes I say things that sound abusive and I think why? Why did you say that??
Wow that’s great that you know this ❤ first step to being more conscious and present is understanding you. I know it's not easy, but practice will get you there. Cheering you on 🎉
I don’t believe in hacking communication mechanically, but I think people can be more eloquent with ther spoken word. Honesty is just part and parcel to human relationships. If someone is continually dishonest and withholds information, that’s a serious problem
She seems like she’s in an abusive relationship if she knows her husband is mad by how hot he is. He went off on her for nothing and she blames herself which is classic victim mentality.
Interesting point. Everyone has energy language, and not a lot of people tune into it. As an expert in the field, I read this well. Communication is the number one biggest problem on the planet. So I took this small example to show you how quickly you miscommunicate through making up incorrect stories for each other. If you can take that away maybe you can make a difference with your family friends and teams. 45% of marriages end in divorce 90% of these are registered due to miscommunication.
Now you know why there is so much miscommunication people react in a nano second before they consciously think. That is the point of this. To stop and bring more consciousness to your life. Communication is the key to business and life successes and failures!

Love the story, but why would tensing up, make someone upset.
We need Tam Kaur up here.
It's a good stage to learn English and phrases...I really want to speak but I can't ...so I attend all seminar of tedx
Is it helping u? Did it improve
@Shaziya-yh4ly yes it is so helpful for me and now I can speak more better
@bestar__8954 did u suggest something to me , like on what I really focus on
Got into a huge fight with 2 of my friends and I really need this 😅
Sorry to hear that ... amazing how quickly we can miscommunicate.
"Would you like to change lanes " is still a trigger. Let him drive, he doesn't want your help.
If a person is worked-up anything might act as a trigger.
That why both needs to be able to communicate well.
Thank you so much❤❤❤❤

Yep... Gonna need that one.

bro this is literally me
It is everyone if they are honest ! 😅 Miscommunication the biggest problem in all businesses and relationships. The stories in our head !
how can i improve my English any body can talme. because I'm learning English language...
1. Watch movies
2. Read books
3. PRACTICE speaking with someone
And the third point is the most important
She just kept repeating herself for 14 minutes
She share her own experience with us and i think it's best ever in ted talk
Fr she was just yapping for the first 10mins
please please please don't put random images in between it can distract some people..
It ain’t that bad, and if you are listening correctly the images amplify the conversations anyway
@boiski9356 Idk but i felt extremely distracted by these images

pretty basic stuff, not sure why all the praise here - are people generally this naive about this stuff?
Wasted 14 minutes of my life, not a good talk.
Agreed.
you dont need ted for whining about the personal stuff. primitive
