Absolutlely brilliant - To the point, fully detailed and made perfect sense. I've never considered looking at a video on jacking points before but my XE had me scratching my head - Thanks
Thanks for the kind words! I agree I wouldn’t have ever considered a jacking video before either but I genuinely got asked in private messages etc a few times so thought I’d just help out 😇
Thanks, once again very useful info! Love my XE and probably will exchange my def one of these days…. It’s a year old, and here with the high temps may not be a bad idea. Coming March we’re bleeding the brakes.
I miss the central jacking point's I've had on all previous cars. There seems to be no such thing on neither XE nor XF that I have now. It's nice to lift the whole front or rear in one go but now that would take two jacks and some back and forth.
@@TrackAndBeyond thanks buddy, very much appreciated, I need to take her for a good run to see if the adblue fault clears, but if it doesn’t, I’ll plug in and do it that way, once it arrives. 👍
What scanner do you use on tis car, if any? Have an Autel diaglink and an obd MX+ dongle but very limited in what they can do. Recently changed HID headlamp bulbs and auto leveling stop working. Worked before changing bulbs so nothing wrong with hardware, just need an reset or whatever. Also, I understand that replacing batteries need a tool to register new batteries. Any suggestions?
I have an Ancel X7 however I havnt actually tried on the jag yet to see what features and coding it can or can’t do. Yea your right about the batteries you need to tell the ECU it’s had a new one. I haven’t tried any out really so couldn’t give you any suggestions sadly Sorry Jason
@@TrackAndBeyond Thank you for reply. I'm looking for an Autel MaxiCOM MK808 but is little bit pricey and reviews are not concludent relative to this type of car. Seems a very complex scanner with a lot of abilities. Cannot find any info if work or not on this car. Thank you again.
Just been told I need two front coils on my 2016 Jaguar XE R-Sport. Apparently this is 5 hours work and costs £732??? Does that sound about right? I am in disbelief that this job takes 5 whole hours. Labour is £50 per hour + VAT. Thanks. Love from Scotland, xxx
Crikey that sounds like a lot of money to be fair, 5 hours does sound a little excessive I’d think it was probably half that. Personally wouldn’t bother going to Jaguar for things like cool springs any way. A non genuine cool spring is just as good if you go for a decent brand.
@@TrackAndBeyondThat is non-genuine, from a non Jaguar car garage ... Think I am being ripped off, but I had no option than to agree, because no way of driving that car back home with the front grill scraping over every bit of uneven road. On second thoughts, I could have actually just called the AA to take it back home or to another garage ...
Got another querie, one of my headlamp washer jets sticks/ stays out when used, it was only a little bit originally but now it’s all the way out, I tried squirting WD40 in there when it was doing it’s thing, do you have any hints/ tips on those buggers?
@@TrackAndBeyond it kind of did and didn’t, it was the R/H one originally, but I squirted into both, now it’s the L/H one sticking but I have to be honest, I did push it a little to help it go in, I may have fooked it by doing this..??!!
Yea possibly as it’s a runner I think. Best thing I can suggest is get some one to squirt it and spray the WD on I’m the runner when it’s out.. That’s what I’d try and go from there
Ok, did what was advised from a fellow viewer, took the XE out for a longish drive to York, 61 miles, all over 50mph. Did a bit of shopping and a Taco Bell, silly not to when you’re there!! Bad DEF warning on dash still. So drove back to hartlepool, another 51 miles (obviously) and unfortunatley the fault is on the dash, bummer… Any suggestions?? I do have a diagnostic scanner (AL519) on its way, is that the next option?? Thanks in advance if anyone has another suggestion. 🤟
Sadly will be a case of heading to the dealer. They can apply an update to the ECU. I don’t believe the DEF message registers any actual tangable fault codes sadly
Brilliant, just what I needed as my skid tray is hanging off so I need to get under the car to sort that out. Cheers.
Glad I could help 😀

Thank you! 😃
@@TrackAndBeyond- Hoping to buy an XE in the very near future and your videos are very informative. 👍🏻
Brilliant you’ll love it! Favourite car Iv owned! Thanks for watching hopefully I can help with videos in the future 😄
Extremely useful and just the information I was looking for. Thank you!
Well done my friend. Big joe here from Scotland. As you know I'll be doing my disc's and pads once the weather changes. This video is spot on.CHEERS
Good luck pal 👌🏻
Very usefull info. Done my brakes last summer after watched your video on brakes.
Thanks so much! I’m glad it helps!
Thanks for that information, very useful. Most modern cars are a nightmare to get off the ground, as a home mechanic.👍👍👍

Yea certainly makes it a longer job jacking up the car 🤣🤦🏼♂️
Very clear instructions. Is it the same for the 2017 jaguar xf?
Thank you! 😀 I’d imagine the locations are pretty much the same
Thank you very much. I presume it will be the same for my 2012 xf.
I’d imagine it wouldn’t be much different no
Helpful video, cheers.
I’m glad it helps! 😃
Thankyou bud🙂👍👍
Your welcome 😊
On a bit of a tangent, but where is the testing socket for a diagnostic tester on the XE? Tia
On RHD look above the pedals slightly to the right it’s up there 😀

@@TrackAndBeyond Hi, I bought an Autel MP808K, just ordered, but look a good piece of kit
Seems similar to the Ancel I have let me know how you get on with it and what features you have with the jag
