I LOVE the way you organize and allot the $$ to designated allowances. Do you ever worry about the cash being damaged in a house fire? I want to invest in a fire-safe box sometime, also a good idea for storing important documents. Thank you for this!!
The planner you were using for sinking funds, what is the name of it and where did you get it from please?
Tnk you jo 😊
❤❤
If it helps anyone, I've been putting my pennies and dimes (occasionally a dollar or two) in an empty wine bottle with a pretty label. It's harder than I realized to get it out and I'm not planning to break it any time soon. My quarters go to laundry, nickles don't fit so I save them for coffee shop tips. I worked at a coffee shop for years, trust me, anything is appreciated, I loved my job and coworkers, it's ok to NOT feel obligated to tip. ❤ Edit: please tip workers who make tipped wages, they deserve it.
As a waitress I'm trying to figure out a money system and so I'm watching this video and many many other videos as well. I seen your comment and yeah anything really is appreciated. I love receiving change like nickles, dimes, quarters over nothing, even if someone leaves just a dime or a penny I don't mind that. This comment made me happy when I read it.
I gave up on my 100 envelopes when there wasnt much funds leftover for it, but stuffing it with rollover money?? Genius!!! Now I can get back in the game! Thanks for sharing! My kiddo is going to a classmates birthday party tomorrow and we’re super excited. She just started school this year and it’s the first party she was invited to 🥲 so many sweet “firsts” in this stage!! 😊
Yay!!! Good for you!!! And there are so many adorable firsts at that age, I hope you can take some time to slow down and enjoy them- they will go by fast 💨
We’re did you get that wallet
there should be a link to the Etsy shop I purchased it from in one of my more recent videos. thanks for watching!
That is the most adorable minature budget binder I have ever seen!!! So unique with the flowers too.
Omg!!! I’ve never seen someone with envelopes that tiny for their wallet! They’re sooo cute!!!
Thank you! They are so much fun 🤩
@@MiasEnvelopes where did you buy them?

Question. How does one do the envelope system AND pay bills with their card? Do we deposit the money back onto the card or do the bills get paid with cash?
Or are we only stuffing non-card payment money?
I just started using this cash binder system in order to save money to have two months on hand for monthly expenses. Also started an envelope challenge for emergency funds. I appreciate your video, thank you!
That is awesome! Good for you!!! I wish you plenty of savings and lots of stuffed envelopes ❤️
l was taught everyone should have at least 3-4 months exspensives in an account in case something comes up you have money to pay your bills and mortage or rent,
and just keep adding to it if you can. And all our roll over money goes into our savings. Your amazed how fast that accounts grows.
Great job! My mom taught me the envelope system when I started my first job as that's what my parents used. I used it on and off over the years but more so over the last 15 years or so. It's a smart thing to do and it teaches self control. Can't say I havent taken out of when when the other was empty but that's when I wasn't as strict lol. Good vid :)
Thank you!!!!
I've been thinking about an unbudgeted envelope too. Good to have for things that sneak up that you didn't account for
Agreed! It’s a good idea 😎
Since I don't really have specific spending I mostly put everything in 1 binder but with different pages for $50, $20, and so on. So whenever I get new money that has a big amount I will exchange them with smaller changes. It will be easier for me for lunch because most of the eateries I can't pay it using cashless. Saving challenges/envelope challenges are on different binders though. Have been doing this since January after stumbling upon videos on youtube. It is so much fun. I can't say they will stay increasing because sometimes we can't avoid emergencies but counting them every week is really fun.
Wow I love your process!!! Thank you for sharing in the videos and for spending time with us 😎
@@MiasEnvelopes Your welcome. Since recently I didn't pay the bills using cash anymore I have more cash to save. I did write down what I paid to make sure that I know I already paid.
I love that little tiny cash wallet! Good video!
Lol thank you! It’s so tiny I love it too- I guess everyone calls them “micro wallets” ❤️

Yay! Thank you! :)
Hi
I have a small flip file sith aĺocations on and put it in my safe and then do it every month
Cute little envys. I have not done the cash system and thought to check what it is. But I can't figure out the cash paying thing. I put everything we buy each month on one specific credit card, pay it off each month (and earn points enough to get a vacation every year for hubby and me).
That’s a great system! It can be kind of bothersome to carry cash; sometimes I will use my credit card and pay myself back- it just depends on my mood or the week. I love the flexibility- thanks for stopping by! :)
Haha I love the zombie envelope😂 I have a doomsday envelope so I can stock up my pantry 😅
Love it!!!
“When it happens” she says about the zombie apocalypse 😂
Haaaaa! Totally- I have no idea why but I’m still fascinated with the idea 👻
Very cool
Keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!

Hi Mia, Working on Saturday but off on Sunday.
Hope you had a good day off today!! 😎

Love your set up ❤
I’m new to the money envelope challenge. Is that a budget tracker app on your iPad? If so where can I get it from and what’s the name? Thanks
Hi there and welcome! I use the GoodNotes app on my iPad and the digital budgeting sheets you see me using I created myself- they are available on my Etsy shop. Have a great day!
Since payday is on Tuesday, I'm going to start!
Yaaaas!!!!! 😎 you can do it!
@@MiasEnvelopes ok I can't lie after my bills were paid I'm left with 200$ how do you start off with that? 😩 I feel like this is why I could never save

Awwww you noticed!! Thank you 😊
Where do you get the charts you used to budget all the numbers? I need that! Makes it so easy!!!! 😅

Glad you like them! There should be a link to the Etsy shop I purchased them from in one of my more recent video descriptions :) Happy shopping!
I can use $20 dollars in gas in two days. You might not drive much
I didn’t drive as much when I made that video- now it’s definitely more. Thanks for watching!
$20 for gas only? Must be nice loll 😂 Just to fill up my tank is over 60+ every few days. Or at least every week.
Wow that’s a lot, I’ve been unemployed the past few months so I haven’t been driving as far. That changed last week though, so you’ll see me upping my gas budget :)
I love watching these types of videos and wanna start but I’m unemployed and I donate plasma. I don’t know where to start.
Hi there! So happy to have you here! I will work on making a video tutorial on how to get started with cash envelopes and hopefully that will help :-)
I wonder if you could laminate over your envelopes and then we cut them with the trim area for hole punch.
Oooooo that’s a good idea! I’ll do some experimental envelopes so I don’t ruin the pretty envelopes and see what happens 😂
This would work!
Thanks for sharing love that box with the heart ❤️
Thanks for being here! ❤️
I wish I can start this but Uber won’t let me cause it’s $400 a month from work to home. I need a job more closer to home
i was literally thinking about this today, the only think im scared of is that i have a roommate and they might go through my stuff and find it
Ooooo that’s definitely something to be careful about. Do you have a safe or can you get a locking box off Amazon perhaps? You can always do it digitally as well, but if you like having the satisfaction of the money counting, having the cash on hand is helpful.
you could always use monopoly money if you're afriad of them stealing the safe
Hey Hun! I agree it’s good to support other channels! 💜
Wish I would have thought about it sooner! Have a good week 😎
@@MiasEnvelopes You too!
I want to leeaarrnnn! How cool!
Are you putting the money in the bank when you reach $100 and each envelope? Or are you waiting to you? Reach at least $500 in the envelope before depositing it.
Hi! I’m stuffing $5 per envelope in my challenge box, and when all of the envelopes are stuffed, I’ll do a video counting it all out and letting everyone know how I’ve decided to allocate it. Thanks so much for the tip and thanks for watching!
Hey what’s that app on ur iPad I see numbers on ur using as a paper sheet what’s that
Do you have a video that shows your method on budgeting and where to buy the stuff you use?
Hi! I have several videos that explain the process I use, and I’m working on an updated video actually. Thanks for being here! 😎
Love the wallet.
What about rent, utilities, other bills? Is the money you have in the bank all in a lump sum savings account? And what denomination to you get to in your envelopes before you transfer it to the bank? I've also never understood what a sinking account is??
Wondering that too
Im not sure if sinking funds is understood the same by everyone, but i always thought of it as a fancier way of saying "oopsies/extra spending" 😂
Me too. You cash your check, fill envelopes, get to a certain denomination and then put that cash back in the bank? Or are you using the same bills to make videos?
Hi guys! So I don’t stuff money for my bills anymore. It’s too many trips to the bank and makes my head want to explode. I address it in an upcoming Q&A video, but that’s the meat and potatoes of that. I have several bank accounts that I use, and I’m also going into detail about that in my upcoming Q&A video. I have a couple of checking accounts and a couple of savings accounts. I call one of my savings accounts my “sinking fund savings”- so, there’s one lump sum of money in there, but I keep track of what I’m allotting that money for. So, let’s say I have $2,000 in the savings account. I have a list I keep digitally that breaks down the categories I’ve saved for within that account. So that $2,000 is split between things like vacation, car maintenance, etc. And yes, once my sinking fund cash envelopes are full, I take that money to the bank and deposit it into the account. Hopefully I hit on everything, let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you for being here and happy new year!
Hi there! When I receive income, i leave a percentage in the bank to cover bills, and take the rest out to stuff in my envelopes. Then after some time passes, once the envelopes are filled, I then take the money to the bank and deposit into my sinking funds savings account. I do not re-use money for my videos.. it’s all “fresh” on a weekly basis lol
great questions- thank you for being here and happy new year! :)
I dont understand the concept if you are taking money to the bank🤔
Love your content ♥️♥️
How do you get started. I feel as though something is always due and it never allows me to start 😭😭
Hi Misty! I would start to pay myself monthly like a bill until I had enough saved up to be 1 month ahead on all of my bills- that’s what I did when I first started and it makes a huge difference. It might take a little bit of time, but the money will add up :-)
I’m impressed…but my hubby and I just talk all the time about how people survive. I’m ‘assuming’ that you made $445 for the week?
hi there! that’s what I had left after paying bills for that week. thanks for watching!
Do you mind linking the little binder and envelopes? 😬♥️
Link to the micro wallet should be in the description of one of my newer videos :-) happy shopping!
What’s that little mini wallet I really like that .
Hi! There should be a link to the Etsy shop where I purchased the clear micro wallet in one of my recent video descriptions- happy shopping!
How do you choose each category for each budget????
I always start by looking at three months worth of my bank statements and color coding the transactions according to category so fast food could be yellow marker, the market could be green marker, coffee could be red marker, etc. then you know about how much a month you spend in each category and you can set some goals to start budgeting with. Good luck!
Hello! Where I can buy the tiny blinder? Love it!
Hi there!!! I got my micro wallet off Etsy- I linked the Etsy shop in the description of my most recent videos, so feel free to check out that Etsy shop if you need one :-)
How do you do the bank part? Do you have different accounts or different savings accounts?

I haven't used cash for years, and particularly since the pandemic, most people here use their tap cards or banking apps. Is cash the common thing to use in the US?
as someone who works at a bank, people still use cash! i also like it to keep my spending under control
I tend to move back and forth between using cash and cards depending on my spending habits. Have a great day! 💜
Where did you get the box w/black heart for savings challenge
I actually found the box at dollar tree, and made the rest myself💜
Hi Mia! I stumbled upon your video because I’m about to start saving seeing as I am about to live without roommates for the first time! I was wondering how often you do this a week? How many times a week would you recommend for someone who 1. Has never done this type of envelope savings before (this is more in depth than what I’ve done in the past) and 2. Who has never gone through their expenses this in depth before? I’m also single but with no kids so my expenses are a little different!
Hi there! Welcome so glad you’re here! Sorry it looks like I missed your comment so it’s taken a while to respond. I cash stuff once per week. I feel like the amount of times you stuff depends on how frequently you get paid, but that can all be adjusted for a weekly stuffing. I like weekly stuffings because I can more closely see how much I’m spending on a weekly basis, this just gives me more visibility over what and how I can adjust my budget if I’m overspending in any category. Hope that makes sense :) have a great rest of your week!
New to the channel. Do you have envelopes for things like housing payment, car insurance, utilities etc?
Hi there and welcome! I don’t stuff my monthly bills anymore, but I used to! I keep the money for those in the bank and they come out automatically at the beginning of the month. Have a great Holiday season! 💜
where did you get the mini binder/wallet?

Did you make your savings challenge envelopes? Also I love the fake bills that you use and is there a app one The tablet that you’re using for cash stuffing
I sure did! I’m using the budget book I’m creating to track everything and I use it on GoodNotes - as far as the placeholders go, I’ll link all the Etsy shops in my next video so you can check them out :-)
Love your envelopes...my favorite color lavender....where did u get them from?
www.etsy.com/shop/LuxeDesigns831
She’s got a great shop I love her stuff 🤩
silly question where do you get the money to start if you dont have extra income?
Not a silly question at all! 😄
If you don’t have “extra income,” you can use cash for expenses you would normally use your debit card for, like gas, groceries, eating out and spending. That’s always a good place to start. Then on a weekly basis, if you have any money left, you can save that money in it’s own envelope for paying off debt, or some other goal you might have.
thank you
How do u do it?
I'm poor. How do I even get started!?🥺
That’s a fair question! Do you have a budget right now? Setting up a budget so you know what’s coming in and going out is the first step. 💜
