      If u can work out what you get on your lowest possible month and make a budget for that. Then work out a priority list of what u will allocate any extra money to.
      I have an irregular income so over time managed to save up a full lowest month income. I then put this into my account on the first. I let the income for that month gather up as didn't need it and use it for the next month. This is called getting a month ahead on income. It means I now always know what I will have at the start of each month.

I've been trying to do a biweekly budget for some time now but just played everything by ear, just paying whatever, whenever it was due. I also like how you organized them by due date. I’d keep the amount I need for bills, or whatever else I usually pay and then take out the rest and transfer it into Albert so that whenever I feel like spending money I really can’t since I have the exact amount of money I need to pay my stuff, and if you wanna transfer your money back to your bank you can but it doesn’t transfer over till like 2-3 business days, so by the time the money you wanna spend is in your bank account you’d forget about it. So it prevents you from spending more then you’d usually will, if you sign up with my link albert will give you 5$ as a sign up bonus, Try it for yourself! Word of advise especially for the young folk. Get yourself a second job. If you have an extra 3-4 hours in a day that is spent idle, get another job. If you’re in debt, use that second job to pay off the debt using a snowball effect. Even if you’re not in debt, use that money to put into a high yield savings account.
      When I was 19 I got my first apartment and I worked in a hair salon in the day. In the evening time, I worked at Target. The money I made from Target went into a savings account. I never touched that money. Create the habits now of budgeting and living BELOW your means.

    • @BudgetWithBri
      @BudgetWithBri  5 лет назад

      icoupon4savings I’m so glad!! 😊 okay so for those that are due before paycheck number two, you’re going to want to put that full amount due into the envelope. (This will only happen for the first month) so that when your paycheck #2 comes, you’ll put half of that payment in there. And when paycheck #1 comes the FOLLOWING month, you’ll put the other half of the amount due. Thus, you’ll have your full payment. Does this make sense??

    First off, it's cool how the sunlight is blue on the paper! I'm doing self-study for personal finance. This is kinda what I do, but for just a budget for my fountain drinks for two weeks and ($20 is enough for me, if I pay with my debit card, I end up buying more than just drinks) and another is for a big ticket item. A gaming laptop for my RUclips channel. The laptop costs $1,500, but I'm gonna wait to buy it when I get $2,000 due to tax. Everything else is auto pay, so I put the due dates on my calendar so I can make sure I have enough in the bank to cover them all.

      Nakiah this is going to sound dumb, but how do you build credit if you don’t have a credit card? I don’t feel like I have the self control to get one

    • @honcho300
      @honcho300 4 года назад +51

      Myra Ann having no credit is worst than having bad credit.
      People who say never get a credit card are usually the one who are in debt because they aren’t responsible with there credit card

    • @20believer10
      @20believer10 4 года назад +12

      If you do get a credit card be responsible and pay what you owe. If you know you can't pay money back don't get one. If you're responsible then it's a blessing and only use what you can pay back. If you're irresponsible then it's a curse and you will be misusing it and not be able to pay back what you owe.

      They look at your credit score when you want to go finance a car, a house, a business, even get an apartment. I was so scared to get credit cards. They're not a bad thing you just have to be responsible with them. Don't "bite off more than you can chew". You can put little things on them (gas, small grocery store runs, ect) and pay them off monthly when it's due. You build credit and power to spend more eventually if needed. They are a good tool to utilize IF you are responsible and they can aid you on other aspects of life.

      @gabrielahernandez4160 4 года назад +2

      It’s not good to not have a credit card though, especially if you don’t have another way to build your credit such as a car payment under your name or financing something else. The key is to be responsible and use your credit card as a debit card to them build credit without going into debt.

    UGH! Where have you been all my life??? This is, by FAR the BEST budget "how to" I have EVER seen. You can be proud of that because I was born last millennia, like in the 60's! But seriously, I could NOT go anywhere without thanking you. You will change my life and my kids lives. I am going hard core on this budget. You made it FUN and interesting. No one could ever understand better about that than me and my kids. Why you ask? We are a hard core ADHD family. If you don't make it shiny, we like squirrels. LOL Thank you from the bottom of my heart though. I will have many questions but I will only ask this one for now. When you do all the envelopes with the cash, how do you pay the bills? I KNOW this sounds stupid, but for instance, I have to send most via the internet. Do you put the cash back in the bank and then send it immediately? I NEED the tactile feel of the cash like you said, BUT I need the black and white (sparkly) how it gets to netflix or Amazon Prime? Laugh if you must but I am serious. I think it's a perfectly normal question for a neurodivergent! Keep your awesome stuff coming. I so appreciate you!

    This is a great video! I'm trying to set up my envelopes and sinking funds, so this is the perfect video for me to watch today. I've also paid the stupid tax and did poorly with managing my credit. I'm working on getting it better now, and all my debts are current, nothing is late or any bad remarks. Soem things, like Amazon Prime, we just pay every month and I look at it as a regular bill. We have stockpiled a lot already for the household goods, so I'm setting up an envelope for that but we'll just let it sit in there so we have it when needed. We have kids in diapers (but when the oldest starts to potty train, they'll both train together because that's just how their dynamic works...). So they get $25 a check in their envelope and we'll go from there. We've decided we're going to drive less so I'm setting a strict gas budget of $40 a month. So unless we go on a long car ride, regular trips around town should keep up in gas for a while. But the great thing about budgets is everyone should have one, and they are all different from person to person. We're on a single income right now, so everything is tight. But we can still find soem wiggle room to get these financial goals met.

      Sometimes you have to take more out of one check than the other. Use a calendar and mark your bills on their due date with amounts. Then mark the days you get paid. You will see the pattern of when bills are due. If too many are due at the same time you can try calling credit card companies or your car lender and see if they will move the date.
