I live in Ridgway, actually on the River north of Ridgway. While I really don't mind all the people coming in to enjoy the place, its funny in a way; these sites have been there for a long time. Used to be locals had to convince the National Forest to allow them to exist on Nat Forest land. these sites and the ones on state land were thought to only be magnets for "trouble". whatever that meant. The local canoe/ kayak rental businesses struggled to get these sites established so ppl would have places to do overnight trips on the river, and now those places have closed. It is now odd to see so many out of towners "discovering" these sites 😀 thanks for the video!

How to Prevent Carbon Build up in Your WEBASTO Heater! The TRUTH about High Altitude adjustments!!
      ruclips.net/video/_I_d7GyGHA8/видео.html
We have the Webasto STC 2000. If we were to buy it again.... We probably would not buy this model as we are hardly ever below 5000 ft elevation when we are west.... All our family are west and that's where we spend most of our time. This model is only engineered to work up to 5000ft. Having said that it will work above that elevation but you run the risk of carbon build-up, which we've had. It is a pain in the ass to service under our passenger seat where we have it installed. Not to mention that the replacement parts cost more than the knock-off Chinese heater.
A better choice for us might have been the Webasto Evo 40 (7000 ft elevation rating) or the Espar heater which is rated up to 9000ft elevation. Then you would have to take the price point into consideration! These name-brand heaters are quite costly. Add in the Chinese knockoff heaters (under $500) and you have a real dilemma.
It is a very personal decision and I guess that's why we didn't think to mention it. I will say we will ALWAYS have one of these dry air heaters. Awesome when they are working.

  • @dfanman1

Do you guys use the cheapest gas you can find? The reason why I'm asking is because I just got a Webasto heater for my van and it say to use the good and expensive gas with less ethanol just wondering if it makes a difference in a long run.
