❤ .45 acp. Nothing else quite like throwing Volkswagens at people.

I bought one of these years ago (my second handgun purchase); I lived in Arizona, so it was occasionally my open carry while I was waiting to get my concealed carry (this was before Arizona went to Constitutional carry). As you said, the trigger is great, and just a nice, solid .45... The SA/DA trigger feature is pretty nice, too.

I'm not a .45 guy but PLEASE(!!) break the trend (not talking about you - just You-tube in general)of non-stop 9MM videos. I know its cheaper for those that shoot a lot but, 704, show some .40's! a 357Sig....some more 45s...a 38 special, etc! We will love you for it!!

I have this pistol in 10mm. Love it. Eats all types of ammo. Very accurate.

I am a new member of the EAA family. I have a similar gun but with a polymer frame. I had one contact with EAA's customer service people, and I would give them a solid "A+" grade. Very happy with all aspects of this pistol.

The EAA .45 Witnesses are some of the very best .45 Pistols made! I have two standard .45 Witnesses. One made in 1992 and the other in 2005.
The older 1992 version was my EDC for three Winters. Have used either for USPSA/IPSC Limited 10 Class competition.
Either one has fed both Hollow-Points and Semi-Wadcutters and most anything else without issue.
The .45 Witness Pistol in the Video is a Long Slide Competition model.
Tanfoglio and Tanfoglio based Pistols are great and I love the small frame 9mm's as well!

Tanfoglio builds a fine pistol, I have 3 of them. There are a couple of companies that offer aftermarket parts that can make a good trigger even better (6 pound DA and 2 pound SA) but the best thing about them and the only advantage they have over a CZ is that they come in 10mm and 38 Super. I like 38 Super a lot because it allows me to shoot 9x23 Winchester (125 gr. 1450 fps) and the gun holds 21 rounds with +4 baseplates.
Tanfoglio also sells a 22 lr conversion for most of the guns they make.

Nice find. If you look very carefully all over the frame you should find a box with two letters inside it, sometimes it can be a very faint stamping and hard to find. This is the date code for tanfoglio pistols. I didn’t see it while you were handling it in the video, but I’m sure you’ll find it. If you find it but can’t find a date code table searching the Internet, let me know I have a copy of the date codes saved on my computer. It appears to be a mid 2000s import? Oh and for grips, not many make grips for the large frame tanfoglios and cz75 grips won’t fit right. I know at one time tillander gun grips made some for the large frame, but they’re just plastic/resin grips and probably wouldn’t be better than what you have.

Hands Down the BEST 45 I have owned and one of the best I ever fired. My has a 3 Lb. trigger on single action. And having a 10 round Magazine is great. My only criticism is that all EAA 45s don't have 5" barrels, some have 4.5".

My first USPSA competition gun was visually identical, though mine had a hard chrome frame instead of stainless (from what I remember, the stainless was not yet available when I ordered mine. I loved mine also, but I started using a 40S&W for more ammo capacity. That extended magazine was available from EAA.

Have liked the looks of these pistols for years. They are hard to find though, so I ended up going with a Sar K2-45 instead. It's also a CZ copy, so has the same styling and function, but uses 14 round magazines. I'm about 350 rounds into the gun and loving it so far.

Should have gotten the Sarsilmaz K2 45.
Its also a cz based pistol. But they use SIG style slide and Beretta style mags/magazine well tech.
So the slides a bit heavier but dampens the hell out of the recoil.
Pretty much all the models of this pistol (including the compact which is more of a "duty size") carry more rounds than the Tanfoglio version (the eaa you have here).
The full size is 14+1 45acp which to my knowledge, in this size isn't, beat by any pistol on the market except the FNX45 tactical which only enjoys a single round advantage.
The compact sar k245 I believe holds 13+1. But at less than an inch barrel length difference and about a half inch grip height difference. You sort of might as well go full size.
At 15 rounds of 45acp and comes with an included spare magazine you're looking at 29 shots of 45acp... that (to me) makes a damn fine home defense pistol.
Also, Magazines are easy to find.
As these have been in the u.s. market for just about a decade in some capacity there's also good holster options and even some really nice grips. I'm told cz/Tanfoglio profile triggers fit and function though I can't say for sure as I actually really like the trigger with it's smooth crisp 3# in single action and about 8-9# double. So I never plan to swap it out.
I also really like the sights. big white dots with phosphorescent paint. which are adjustable for windage and elevation in the rear. So I'm sure with the right measurements you could find different sight set if you need fiberoptic or tritium sights, but I like mine as configured from the factory.
The grips are super grabby and fit my hand perfect. There are of course palm swell and narrow profile grips available.
I've also seen extended mags at 17+1 and there are available magazine extending baseplates that add +2 rounds.
So if you want to shop around you can carry 19+1 with 19 round backups if you so desire.
In the 45acp world that's well above substantial firepower. Most 9mm can't even touch 20 rounds. (Though I do own one that does hold 20rds stock, SIG p226 tac-ops)
So I can say I do like the witness line. Sarsilmaz surpasses them with almost all their offerings if compared with similar guns. And their price tends to be about 10-15% cheaper and a lot of the witness pistols only come with one magazine. All the sar arms guns Ive owned came with 2 MecGar mags).
Lastly the machine work on the slide and frames coming from Sarsilmaz exceeds what I love seen on SIG Sauer and other highly priced brands. The slides and frames are milled steel and the barrels are cold hammer forged. These guns are smooth actioned and accurate!
In summery, you can't find a better gun anywhere near this pricetag. They sit currently at about $500 thanks to Joe Bidens presidency and inflation. But before then I saw these going for about $350-$400. Some places are really price-gouging and asking $600 but even at that price this gun makes perfect sense and still beats the competition in that price range.
Its not a $1000+ gun. But with some competition style work and parts. It could probably compete with those decently. I've never shot a 45 (including a nighthawk customs 1911) with this much natural accuracy. And I've also never owned a 45acp that was this reliable with every type of ammo I've tried including the 1911 killing hollow points.
Grab one while you can at that $500 pricetag before they're gone. You will not be disappointed with the gun. I promise you.
They've discontinued this pistol before and they started costing 6 or 7 hundred bucks. But the American market demanded it's return and Sarsilmaz made it so. But it could leave again so... I urge you to consider the purchase.
Best price I've seen so far is at tin star shooting ranges website.

I have four of the style of pistol. EAA makes an excellent pistol. You should be able to call EAA, give them your serial number and get rubber grip panels. I've done this for the steel frame eaa's I have.

Love .45 ACP and I love the CZ-75 platform. That being said, if I carry a full size .45 ACP, I want a M1911 for its better trigger. Do I like safeties? No. Can it be trained around? Certainly. I carry a SIG P320 Compact in .45 ACP.

Okay, "the price was right". I cannot find in the video where you said how much the cost was besides it was right. Do you mind telling us? Or did I miss this, I rewond this video a few times to check -but I am working And I'm not paying close attention.. Thanques brother, that is a sweet range 45 caliber, I love me some CZ's, and quality clones. I think the 45 caliber in this style gun would be really interesting to shoot since the biggest caliber you can get in a CZ seems to be 40. And who has one of those?
I know CZ has 45 caliber pistols but I'm not a competitive shooter and I don't have that kind of money. That's why I'm on this channel 704, we're talking about quality budget stuff.

So what kind of group sizes did you get?
I have to say that I prefer the lines of this gun much better than those that have rails on them. I always liked the looks of the original CZ75's, since THEY had the basic looks of the Browning P-35.
If I want an ugly gun, I'll stick with my Glock30SF 🤣, which BTW, is the one that goes everywhere I go. The bad guys don't really care what the gun looks like, and no one else sees it when I am carrying it, anyway.
