It would have been absolutely fucking brilliant if at the end of the game Gordon finally broke his silent protagonist shtick to as G-Man for a helmet.
It's a total lie though because Gordon is wearing civilian clothes when he shows up in City 17.
@@NicksNameGoesHere well the way i interpreted that when i played hl2 was that probably its as if you had kept the suit the whole time, cause the gman drops you where he drops you for a reason. You show up in that particular place to keep undercover for a while just enough to let you reunite with your suit once again and have enough time to get a weapon. He kept the weapons as he said in the first game so he could only give you back your suit, but dropping you in the middle of city 17 with the HEV and without weapons would do his errr... employers, no good. They seem to need gordon to be alive at that time so its kinda as if you had kept the suit, only that its an entirely different suit and its even a different model... uh... lets just go the obi wan way and say that gman said the truth from a certain point of view i guess.

I hate to "um, actually" you, but Black Mesa has a training course for HEV operators, which includes firearms training. Gordon being a capable marksman isn't that surprising.

Sure I haven't played two but I have seen plenty of content for it. And I do know that gordon is employed by what appears to be a being of immense power that like to work behind the scenes. So it is possible that he was given the knowledge of how the weapons work. Because let's face it. It wouldn't be fun to not being able to use the weapon's of your enemy.

No, there are some living scientists ( i dont really remember) and the fact gordon freeman is still alive whilst being in xen, without a helmet may i add. The dead scientists are most likely killed by the xenian wildlife, nihilanth forces such as alien grunt or vorts or that big head floating alien or starved to death

The devs have said that Gordon actually does have a Helmet, which is why you can take more than 1 jump from the Headcrabs, and has a HuD... Just for some reason they didn't show the Helmet when you got the suit.
If I rode a motorcycle wearing nothing but that suit, I'd be breaking the law in twenty states.

They are very fancy, and very expensive boots.
but those boots, are, in fact, protect everything that can be hit. Turrets are NOT a part of a test.
It can also strangely protect their head in case of jumping to a ceil

(Also from technical point, Gordon does "speak" in HL1 - all of recharge stations, med stations and soda machines audiofiles are attached to Gordon)
There is actually a helmet for those HEV suits, though Freeman for some reason does not have one.

I knew there was one. I never got a chance to play HL1 (born too late) and I don't think I'll ever be able to get it to run on my computer, but I know I've seen a model of the HEV suit with a helmet.
MURFGAMING1228 I was late to the party too, but picked it up around a year ago on sale for about $2.50. Some of the best 12 hours of gameplay you can get anywhere. It doesn't take a beast of a PC to run either since it was made in '98.

+MURFGAMING1228 Look up the independent source mod called "Black Mesa." It's the entire first game rebuilt from the ground up in the Source engine, and it's fantastic. You'll probably enjoy it more than the original version of the game anyway.

I kept getting this recommended to me and kept ignoring it because I thought that I had seen it before, and I thought I remembered it being bad. No, it's actually amazing.
The Gordon in this video actually makes a good point. We never actually see a helmet on the suit that Gordon wears, yet it seems that he is the only user without one, as the dead Lambda units sent out to Xen are seen wearing HEV Helmets.
Its implied that Gordon is wearing a helmet, despite his model not having one

They gave a helmet to everyone else but no him
Although the DEVs say he had a helmet, no where in the games or promotional material (including the front covers) display him having one.
He should wear a helmet, juat don't bother modelling because it's in first person (they had a model for it tho)

And in In OpFor and BS Gordon only wears glasses that for some reason stay clean and stuck on him
I guess a faceless protagonist wasn't an option, yet. So they made Gordon a face. They also made a thirdperson model because Deathmatch was a thing and they wanted a different model from a generic HEV guy.
Op4, Decay and Blueshit all use that model or are slightly modified.
At this point they don't really care. The HL1 HEV suit didn't have gloves too, but they were on the first-person model. Also, the promo art has a different design for his glove too.
For HL2 they only did promo art. There is no thirdperson model.
If we really want to take the games literally, we might as well agree that people who weren't turned into headcrab zombies are actually "immune" to a headcrab jumping on their head, except Alyx but she has grown out of it between the age of 19 and 24.
Gordon developed short distance telekinetic powers during that 20 years in statis.
Citizens without any body armour can eat bullets and move fine after that.
HECU soldiers are so dumb, if they don't see anyone but get shot in the arm, they just take the bullet.
HECU soldiers can produce radio sounds and distortions with only their mouths.

In game and promo art Gordon dosent wear the helmet but this is just for recognizeability if Gordon were a sensible person like is implied he wears the helmet when needed like when swimming in radioactive material or water or near things that cause radiation and takes it off when he doesn't need it
It's just the model of the suit that doesn't have a helmet. But Freeman does use one. That's why you can see the boot-up sequence and the entire hud

Gordon Freeman specifically doesn't wear the helmet because he can't wear his glasses inside the helmet without complications (imagine them slipping off and being unable to adjust them because your face is enclosed in a helmet) and Black Mesa never got around to making a prescription strength visor for him.

Sasquatch At His Computer It's made out of those puzzle-piece-shaped floor mats you sometimes find in children's play rooms. Heat makes it really easy to mold, so you can bend it into whatever shape you want and basically fuse two pieces together with only hot glue.

I believe the immediate openings are because of the scientists that died in xen.
