Source ladder physics- highest kill count of all time.
you can press E to either mount or dismount safely - half-life source was the worst, followed by classic half-life. Blue Shift and Opposing Force fixed the issue with ladders, while from half-life 2 onwards you can just use E.
The source engine plus ladders equals Instant death. Whereas the gold source ladders are fine.
They even suck in Apex legends, which is a *heavily* modified version of source
I dont get this skit, I never had any issues whatsoever with ladders in hl2 as far as I can remember. And seems I was the only one?
@@feha92 probably because you where not strafing the physics on ladder double your speed when you input two dirrection at the same time witch once your at top can lunch you.

Freeman's Mind is gold, but sometimes Ross breaks the emmersion with reacting to some stuff like a pleyer who plays HL/HL2 for the very first time would react, not like the character his playing would. The only thing I can criticise him for.
That ladder looks like it's made out of PVC and Play-Doh. I wouldn't trust it.

I think these are actually the ladders from HL:1, which doom all innocents to untimely graves. In HL:2 you can just press E to stay on a ladder and move up and down, and you automatically mount a ladder when nearing it. They're much better.

a little thing i appreciate is that gordon has a similar accent and tone to his voice to what kleiner does (technically all the hl1 scientists since they were voiced by the same guy) - it gives a lot of consistency where there wouldn't be since gordon doesn't talk in game
