My Grandpa was in Bataan Death March to he got out cause he was shot in the shoulder so they thought he was dead then Filipino Guerrillas found it him and nursed him back to health now i plan to join the Army when i get out of high school
Rocky hooah! I bet you’ll make an outstanding soldier.
Damn, he did well and thank you for his service
Holy shit, that's wild. Your both super lucky
I’m suprised the Japanese didn’t finish him off they usually bayoneted the dead bodies to make sure they were truly dead, hell they even ran over the “dead” bodies, your grandpa was extremely lucky to make it out of there alive.
Did you join?
Props to the camera guy. You werent forgotten.
THANK YOU
Nick the type of guy to take pre-workout before a company conference call. Love the content, keep killing it Nick!
I really appreciate that so many get out for an event that remembers those that both survived and fell during the Bataan Death March in WWII. My grandfather actually served on the U.S.S. Bataan in the Pacific, and my mom still has his cruise book.
I’m an Army nursing student and volunteered at aide station 3/8. Definitely going to try rucking this next year and experience the other side of it! Great job Nick!
I love how your videos seem like a short film or a movie.
Twas my goal
You're a legend. Go after that Ironman!
Yes, he would fly through it. He should even submit a video for a film festival.
Awesome stuff. Did mine in Kuwait while deployed in 2020. Great time. 35 lbs dry, 6 hr 4 mins. Proud of that! I crushed every other enlisted in my company and only my LT beat me by 5 mins. Best LT to ever lead us. Our battalion commander was probably in his 50s, and finished somewhere around 5 hours. Insane.
Nice chatting with you during the ruck, like you said...it’s a humbling experience
Great vid! I was there rucking too with 45+ lbs by the end of it. It's definitely a must do for anyone out there. If you think you can't do it, get out there, prove yourself wrong, and ruck it! Semper Fi!
You make this old 11B want to ruck up and start prepping for the Bataan. Good job.
Nice vid Nick keep it up. Also good luck with those blisters, take good care of them it would suck if they got infected. Love your content and cant wait to see what you have planned next. Keep it up Nick!
Such high quality videos, love them! Keep it up man
Robby killed this one. Felt like a documentary
why i am just now responding? No idea
I saw you there and took a picture with you! I was waiting for this video to come out!! Keep posting great things 😎
I did the Bataan for the first time this after watching your video last year, did the military heavy division at 12 hours 20 minutes with a 40.6 pound ruck. Only a couple blisters on both feet, and my waist line got bruised from the ruck rubbing my belt in the sand pit. To me, the Sand Pit was brutal. Great experience, gonna do it again next year. hope y'all out there get the chance to do the bataan at lest once in your life.
I marched, too!!! From Fort Sill to beautiful New Mexico!!!
Love these videos... I just did the Norwegian Ruck up here in Minnesota and it did a number on my feet. plus I haven't even gone to basic yet but the 18.6 miles of that really helped me prepare
Heck yeah!!! Awesome Nick!!!!!!
Can’t wait to do this event in 2020. I here there is a Bataan Death March event in the Philippines that does 66-miles. Glad to see Ruck events gaining in number and frequency. As for Ironman, Hawaii is a great place to race; go for it.
I was there, and it was AMAZING! Thanks for posting!!!!! Hope your feet have healed!
I dont know about anyone else but Nick I enjoy your sweet edits and transitions.
My brother and I did it this year too! That’s awesome brother that you were doing it too, maybe next year we might run into you and say what’s up!
I just watched this video to get a little sample of what I might be getting myself into this coming year and you definitely inspired me to go for it with a couple of other soldiers.
Nice job! I did the Bataan marathon 2017 through 2019, and was going to do it this year but it was cancelled for coronavirus. I was in 8th grade when I did the full marathon. There’s no other race like this one.
Great vid. Been rucking for a year now. Great workout. Thanks for the motivation and tips.
hey U of I nice! Awesome job everyone!!! You rock Nick one of my fav channels always!
So much respect for you bare!
Been watching you since Korea Nick. Keep on pushing!
My great uncle was in the Battan death march he played dead and they left him for dead
Hell yeah man been waiting since i finished the 26.2 miles
Good job big guy! Another one in the books.
I've been a longtime follower of Nick and came back to get inspiration again, because I am doing the march for the first time ever in 2022!
For those who've tried the event: can you give me some advice? Like lodging, pacing, etc?
I'm military and will be doing the military division,
Thank you!!
Awesome video love all your videos!!!
I’m goin this weekend! Cant wait to experience it in person and not virtual for once!
Never been so hyped watchn a video
Thanks for the motivation : rucking heavy division Bataan in 2021 hope to see you there
I did that back in 1989 or 1990. Me feet were raw at the end. I was wearing full Military gear.. But, so worth it! I couldn't get enough of the beauty of the area!
Awesome video!!
I love watching you challenge yourself!! I also love how you always use TC3 for your music lol.
Such a beast and inspiration!
As a former resident of Ft. Bliss, I love watching anything that I makes me remiss about my time in.
Can't wait to get it faster next year!
Ranger lead the way!
Dudes videos are epic quality.
Both in video quality and editing.
👍 love these vids
Great video, man
Nice! My mom did this with some friends when she was stationed on the Bataan!
This is on my bucket list. Kailangan kong pag-ipunan ito, medyo mahal lumipad papuntang NM galing Manila para diyan.
Nick is an absolute unit
It was so great meeting you!
Salute To You!!!! My Uncle Was one of filipino Soldier with american soldier perished in the Bataan death march, Sad Thing is We Never Found He's Body...
Ever considered organizing and doing location based charity rucks? I left rotc so never served but support my family that did/does (grandpa’s, dad, Brother, sisters-in-law). Been doing the carry the load events in Dallas on Memorial Day and started searching for more to help great causes. Being 275 lbs I hate running and have fallen in love with the ruck. Hoping to get conditioned to do this March one day.
I finally met the legend this year at this event
Them blisters looked tufff! Keep motivating folks man!
Your videos are always so good and motivating
Thank you for your service!
That Bataan Death March ain't no stroll through the Park.
loved it! Miss El Paso and the desert
Song in the beginning is open road by Delta thieves. Second song Tennessee mojo, last song I’m southern by the Cadillac three also
Yes, good idea, There are the half ironmans, that would be a good way to start ...
It's a tough hump.. I know,. I am a retied US Navy Corpsman living right on the same route is the Philippine march. I live on Km marker 67 and I have done the complete death march. But I only carried a 3 liter hydration pack and some bananas, and I had a support group meet me on a few stops along the way... I have done it 4 times now in the past 6 years... I just turned 60 years old and I will do it again during the rain season this year.. Much cooler..Semper Fi
You inspired me to train the last few days for the Bataan Memorial Death March in 2020
Hi Genaro! I hope to see you there!
too bad
Epic bro!! Your not a man until you’ve done Bataan heavy!!!
No one can ever say he is afraid of a Ruck March. Going down the interstate with bleeding feet and the American Flag a while back was epic.
Nice work bud.
I'll be taki g on tbis challenge in 2024. You've helped me get motivated and set some serious goals for myself in 2024. Go one more.
I been on the memorial death march in 2016 for JROTC. Best birthday present ever
Major blisters!! You definitely embraced the suck!!
Alright alright you got me. I subscribed.
Nick bro do a Spartan man maybe with a weight vest on or something 👌🏻
Man, and I wish my ROTC unit could do that.
As, I recall...the event I attended was hosted by University of New Mexico (Las Cruces). And, the paths that we took...led straight into the desert!
Yesssss Ironman!!
So sick man
perfect ending.
Santa Rose Ironman 11th May. Still a few places- get in the mix. See you there
I personally enjoy ruck marching. As long as every once in a while I get a chance to tie up my shoes a bit better. It only sucks if I have an IOTV on. I only marched once during training with one on. It just sat right on my shoulders all tight. My arms went numb in the first 30 minutes.
Ayyeee el paso! My hometown!😈🌟
Eddie Hernandez same😂
My son is based in El Paso....U.S. Army.
Respect sir. Respect the fallen.
This is awesome I have so much respect for you! Do you have any videos on training for this and how to pack your ruck and the bag you used?
just signed up for the 2024 Bataan Memorial Death March💪
Camera quality is beautiful.
I was there! I only had about 25 pounds in my ruck and finished about a half hour after you. First time and I was just about to turn 60.
Pushed through cardio w this vid
Brooooooo the music is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hey bossman, what type of camera and lens do you use for your daily videos?
I’m from El Paso!
Thank you for the video. I plan to do the half march at that White Sands, New Mexico (13 miles) on March 15, 2020, only because of my bad left knee. I am 64 years old, never entered the military, but my son is a pilot in the U.S. Army, who served in Iraq when he was a foot soldier. My father survived the real Bataan Death March because he escaped. From what he had told me, he also escaped from two Japanese prison camps and went to another prison camp to complain to the Japanese that they are not supposed to jail American civilians. He managed to get his cousin out from there and that cousin joined the U.S. Army, got sent to Germany, then went home with a German-born wife. I believe that my father is still alive, nearing 100, living in the Philippines. I tutored English in Hong Kong and told one of my adult Japanese students what the Japanese Army did to my uncle (he was a lieutenant in the Philippine Army) when he was tortured and killed by them. The next day and after, he never showed up for my class.
Loved the end😂👊🏽
Damn man I wish I saw you! I did it this year also 2019! I ended my ruck at 44.8lbs but didn't finish till about 1800
Im doing the 2020 one!!
@@katrinahudson5943 Me too! But doing only 1/2 the march due to a bad knee & 64 years young. See you there!
4:18 damn this is awesome😱
wow man
I loved the "next stop... Ironman?" ending
Highly recommend all to participate, you'll never forget it.
Are the organizers going to bring it back to a full in-person format this year?
You’re an Ironman already! 😄 Salute to you!
My grandpa was in the 45th infantry Philippine scouts. He was a Death March survivor
AYE THATS ME FIRING THE CANNON!!!
Nick, what kind of jeans do you wear? I love the fit!
Wow just wow. I don't know why I'm crying watching this. Great job guys and thank you
Love from
Bataan, Philippines
I was told my great- grandfather surivived by hiding in a haybale but was almost caught when soldiers began to inspect the pile, they did not find him and he left for home when thw coast was clear (home because there no base or outpost to go to)
Can you put your songs that you play in the videos in the bio
The song at 6:00 is Tennessee Mojo by the Cadillac Three
