Thank you, from the son of a Death March and POW camp survivor. My father, Maj (ret) Jack Boyer, did the Death March three times--once on foot. Then when the Japanese learned he could drive a 6x6 truck, they made him drive back down the peninsula and then return, picking up Japanese casualties along the way. No American or Filipino casualties, just Japanese. He was liberated from Rokuroshi camp in Japan. He lived with digestive issues, heart problems, dry beriberi, and PTSD until 1989. He was, in words of a Native American friend, a good human being.
. 👑 ☯️🤝✝️🤝☯️ . 🌎 🪖 If you do make the march, be the last one to finish it... In Honor for THOSE who DIDN'T make it 😓 Your Great Grand Father would understand 🤝 RLTW... ATW!
My uncle then Lt. Macario B. Peralta was among the last USAFFE officers to surrender at Bataan as his unit was fighting at Matalam River and he was among those in the Death March that passed the numerous Filipino and American dead on the waysides from the earlier groups. He was interred at the McDonnell POW camp before being among the Filipino troops paroled by the Japanese Army later in 1942, my father who went to Capas carried him home as he was then no more than just skin and bones. He only recounted his experiences in the Death March and Capas POW incarceration to me when I visited him in my uniform. He has since passed away but his tales I could never forget.
My mom told me that her relative who was like a father to her was a US Filipino scout serving the US Army. As they were rounding all the men for this march, he somehow managed to escape and never had to do this march. Much honor to all those men who never made it back home. Thanks for continuing to honor these men who died during this horrible march.
I really hope that there will be many who participated in this march if they could actually go to Bataan, Philippines to see where everything took place. I know tht we Americans always mispronounce Bataan as the Filipinos pronounce it Ba ta an. My wife was happy to correct me when I pronounced it wrong and I thank her for correcting me. If anyone ever does go to Bataan they should visit the Capas National Shrine in Tarlac. I'm sure if you go there you will get a better sense of the sacrifices that were made there in the name of Freedom. The Americans and Filipinos won the battle there as a team as blood brothers like Roberto De Ocampo said who is the nephew of the great Col. Emmanuel Valfor De Ocampo. He was one of the leaders of the Fighters ROTC Guerrillas. This man was a true hero and he had the true fighting spirit for his country of the Philippines and for Freedom.
When you Come and Visit the Philippines, pay a tribute to our fallen soldiers in Manila American Cemetery. The largest Military Cemetery overseas and it is located right in the heart of the City. I guarantee you that you will have a serene and eerie experience at the same time. And it is also one way of showing respect and honor to our fallen heroes during WWII in the fareast.
My grandfather lived to tell this to his sons & daughter & now through my sons who is in the service. God bless them & the sacrifice for our freedom.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️💕 Thank you🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Such a great video and event. I recently visited Bataan and on the streets they marked where the march was and I can't imagine the pain the soldiers had to endure. Thank you to all Americans and Filipinos who served..

Let us for their souls and honour their heroic acts because, today is the eighty-first anniversary of Bataan Death March and at the same time, Happy Easter Sunday 2023!?
Its an inspiring moment to see the survivors or the "Battling Bastard of Bataan" which was the most brutal Bataan death march in the history of mankind. Long Live/Mabuhay!
Then they'd all have to travel to the Philippines. Plus this area looks more "wild". I haven't been to Bataan but I expect the original route to be now quite developed.

In my opinion this should in noway be a race of any kind....period...it should be a symbol of struggle...a struggle to survive. .Race? What Race.... I'm just a punk who never had to serve...My Father on the other hand help retake Bataan and Corrigador..... just saying
They should do this in the Philippines to make it seem realistic though to be fair some veterans who had ptsd from this would suffer but still interesting
★★★It is so unfair to blame only Japan for some things. For example, the US military cut and boiled the heads of dead Japanese soldiers and brought back their skulls as loot. In the battlefields, 60% of the corpses of Japanese soldiers had their heads amputated. Japanese soldiers did not do such barbaric, brutal and diabolical atrocities. ★★★Read the description titled "American mutilation of Japanese war dead" on Wikipedia ❢❢❢ 😫😖😩😫😖😩
You deserve a high-five in the face with a metal chair for this comment alone. you don't know the shit that went down in the Philippines. how many civilians, women and children the japanese army tortured and killed for fun you fckin weaboo! what a waste of good oxygen!
Dude the Japanese was second worst to Spain when it comes to Philippine history. Third was American and forth the is China. Why you guys do this to us 😡😡😡
The actual experience of THE BATAAN DEATH MARCH were much HARSHER AND PAINFUL COMPARED to THIS experience. AMERICAN AND FILIPINO SOLDIERS WALKI ALL DAY IN THE HEAT OF THE SCORCHING SUN, WITH ALMOST NO FOOD AND WATER BEING GIVEN TO THEM! They could only get some rest if the Japanese soldiers wants to rest. IT WAS A DAY TO DAY TORTURE FOR THEM TO PAINFULLY DIE ONE BY ONE.
Planning to March for my father who was a Filipino Scout U.S. Army Bataan Death March POW survivor. Can’t wait for 2023!
