    After 20 plus years of driving pickups, I bought a CT6. I thought going back to a sedan would be difficult, within weeks I realized the change was for the better. Miss the utility of a truck, but have one I can borrow from my son when needed, so no loss there either.

      Good design imo. Caddy can be a viable alternative to many German sedans , due to handling , and features at a fair price . A BMW or Audi with similar options can be over 10 k grand more than a loaded CT5 . This car has a good chance of being successful.

    Cadillac and Lincoln are decent "premium" cars. I don't understand why Americans go for BMWs and Audis and Mercs when there is so much more choice in the USA than in the UK. BMWs and Mercs tend to be unreliable and are not really that premium anymore (everyone has them) Audis are just posh VWs. Can anyone explain why?

    Cadillac finally caught up BMW.
    What I noticed through the years, many brands have to inject sporty design into their cars in order to keep up the competition by BMW. If you’re not sporty, you’re boring and outdated. In the 80’s the typical U.S. American luxury had no sports DNA at all. While the Germans, especially BMW, boasted sleek compact designs and sports car handling. Now every car brand, luxury or mass market, put sporting influence in design and handling. Even when the car is just a front-wheel drive I4 commuter car that isn’t tuned for sporty handling is designed to look like it’s sporty. Sportiness is the dominant paradigm.

    I don't know how they come up with those carbon figures. 13 barrels of oil would weigh about 3 tons in raw form, but when burned, it turns into 6 tons of carbon?

    • @lukerinderknecht2982
      @lukerinderknecht2982 3 года назад

      It turns into carbon dioxide, not just "carbon". CO2 is one part carbon, two parts oxygen. Oxygen also weighs about 3.7 times what carbon does.
      So when gasoline (which is mostly carbon) combines with oxygen from air during combustion, there is more CO2 produced by weight than just the initial fuel.
