How is this car in the same class as a 3 serious bmw or a class mercedes?? This car is wayyyy bigger than both. Im confused. Should this car be in the 5 series class for bmw??
It's being marketed and priced as a compact in part I think to avoid competing with that car and also to make it good bang for your buck or whatever the kids are saying these days
I do not like this car... but that statement is almost ignorant as this is true for all luxury cars, the king and queen of this depreciation is actually MB and BMW.
Are you insane?? Lol. An 18.000 dollar car is not going to be the same price as a 40 or 50 thousand dollar CADILLAC car in 6 years. Luxury cars do depreciate badly. But NOT that much.

Wait a minute I’m completely LOST, when did Cadillac announce these name changes so now the ATS is the CT4 and the CTS is the CT5 and i thought the CTS (CT5) competed against the BMW 5 series, and the Mercedes Benz E class 👀🤦🏾♂️
Super confusing so basically the ct5 is meant to be a c class rival now same price as c class and 3 series but it is the size of the e class, and the ct4 is an a class and 2 series rival that is the size of a 3 series
Ahmad Harris it’s not that confusing if you’re familiar with the brand. The CT5 is competing in a segment below it’s predecessor (CTS) but not because it’s shrunk a lot in size. It’s only a few inches shorter than the Cadillac CTS it replaces but they’ve managed to increase the wheelbase in comparison to the outgoing CTS offering what Cadillac anticipates to be class leading occupant space. Cadillac CT4 will compete with Mercedes-Benz A-class, BMW 2-series, Acura ILX, Lexus IS, etc.
Cadillac announced their name changes way back in 2015/2016 when the XT5 and then CT6 were revealed. CT# (Cadillac Touring and the number for hierarchy in the lineup) and XT# (Crossover Touring and again, number for hierarchy). The ATS and CTS have been discontinued. Their sedans are now tweeners. CT4, CT5, and CT6 are all priced to compete with the segments below their physical size (similar to how the first and second generation CTS sedans were marketed).
This would be a nice buy used. The biggest issue with this variant is the 2.0 turbo. Way to small for a car of this size and weight. It should come standard with a twin turbo 4 that puts out close to 300hp. I mean the twin turbo 4 comes standard in a bmw 330i that puts out close to 290hp and gets 35 hwy mph.
@@RBZ06LT6 I know my taste is different than the majority’s, but I like the classic and more conservative look of Lincolns. Lincolns are also very comfortable and reasonably-priced. I like their understated elegance, which is something that the vast majority of luxury cars lack. Exactly. I felt a sigh of relief when I saw the USB-C in back seat. btw, I believe USB-C will become totally dominant when iPhones ditch the Lightning port for USB-C. Forcing all the other small companies holding onto Micro-USB items to switch too, otherwise they lose sales.
As the targeted potential younger buyer I'll give Cadillac credit where credit is due, they wanted to start attracting more youngins to the brand and with this car I definitely think they're heading in the right direction. Seems like a decent offering of standard equipment too but I wouldn't want to own a Cadillac without supercruise and you didn't mention the pricing of any of the other trim levels, unless I didn't hear it? It will be shorter in length but not much shorter in wheelbase in comparison to the current Cadillac CT6. The all new redesigned CT6 will compete in that segment along with the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, Lexus ES, Acura RLX, etc.
Looks like "The Standard of the World" was too cheap to put a real window in the C pillar. And they wonder why they're not taken seriously as a luxury brand.
Richard Groves Lol. Wait so Cadillac finishing the c-pillar in a body painted sheet metal and sleekly integrating a _”Cadillac”_ logo engraved veneer into the Galvano chrome that surrounds the windows on both sides is being “too cheap”?? You say that like “real windows” are expensive. Oh yeah! because it would’ve been so much more expensive to extend the rear window into the c-pillar by using less metal & paint and replacing aforementioned veneer w/ a tiny thin piece of glass?? You have no idea how stupid you sound. Cadillac isn’t taken seriously as a luxury brand? Lmdao. What world is that? Cadillac is not only taken seriously as a luxury brand but they’re taken seriously as a luxury *performance* brand and a leader in technology and innovation. @@mybro727 Looks to me like a piece of cheap shiny black plastic pretending to be glass. Did you copy and paste that stuff about the engraved "Galvano" chrome from a Cadillac brochure? 😄
Richard Groves Interestingly enough, no I didn’t. If you’re familiar with this brand you’d know that unlike Lincoln and others who use the gaudy, bright finished chrome on the exteriors, Cadillac uses a darker finished Galvano chrome. When you’re not just being a annoying troll in the RUclips comments and instead actually considering spending your money on one of these, you kinda do your research.🤷🏾♂️
@@mybro727 I expressed my opinion about this car. It has very obviously has been cheapened following the intervention of the GM accountants, as the designers would never have allowed this to happen. Richard Groves Welp, I call it like I see it. FYI, stating the company is “ too cheap” for finishing their c-pillar in that engraved veneer because finishing it in in thin small piece of glass would’ve been more expensive isn’t an opinion. That’s a accusation. It’s either true or false. That’s the issue, you people get your trolling confused with giving an opinion. But I digress.
Because it is not nice enough. The strategy at Cadillac is to be the biggest car in every segment that they compete in, so that you get the most bang for you buck. The CT6 competes with the 5 series and E class, because they don't think people would pay for the same size care as they would for the Germans. It is an inferiority complex that makes all of their cars fall between segments. They are scared to compete so they don't.
@@rammlane7101 I dont agree with that at all. Performance, handling, and technology Cadillac is on their level or better. I will admit they need to take the interiors up another notch. They have had 3 car of different sizes in the last 3-5 years, ATS, Cts, CT6. They compare the ATS to the 3 series, they compare the CTS to the 5 series, then when they get to the CT-6 they then compare it to the 5 series again. Cadillac has called it flagship. The categorization of these cars show bias
@@B-H76 See that is where you are wrong, the CTS was a 3 series fighter when they drop it as their entry level luxury sedan, that is why the CT6 is compared to the 5 series. The goal was to sale you more car because they did not have the prestige, and mind you prestige does not mean those cars were better performers. But the price points were more inline with the smaller cars, that is why they could give you more bells and whistles on a 5 series then you could get in a CTS even if you got the V the interior and tech was not as polished. Look at the pricing, an ATS is priced the between 2 series and the 4 series, and he CTS between the 4 an the 5, putting the CT6 between the 5 and the 7. They don't line up with any thing, they sit in between.
@@rammlane7101 no, that was the beginning generation of the Cts that was the aimed at the 3 series. Then they remodeled it bigger and introduced the ATS. That why I specifically said 3-5 years
@@B-H76 Stop looking at the sizes and start looking at the prices and engine options. They set every car in between what the Germans do, the new plan was to come in and try to create their own segments with the CT4, CT5, CT6, and then build something above that to compete in full size catagory with the S550, A8, and 7 series, CT8. The goal was to be the biggest car in ever segment because they did not fit in any of them. If that was not the case, then what was the point of the CT6?
It's a shame how engineers and designers spend all of this time and effort creating a great automobile and improving upon the vehicles they replaced just to have it half-heartedly gone through in 8 minutes, which seems to be the case here. And can we get a car review that doesn't compare the interior to a German car. At this point the interior is a matter of preference not quality. Overall Cadillac's interior look really great in person. I feel like a more serious approach should be taken to get a more thorough look at Cadillac's newest sport sedan.
Honestly, not sure if this is a anti-American channel or just a anti-Cadillac reviewer, but I think your reviews are bullshxt. If I were _Cadillac_ or *General Motors* I wouldn’t loan a thing to KBB for any future reviews/press. This review is so disturbingly biased and bogus. 1:12 “The 4-cylinders output is pretty intense.” Yet you still find a complaint in the *sound* of the engine as if this is the enthusiast focused CT5-V. It isn’t, it’s the 2.0L 4-cylinder BASE engine and in Luxury trim which is targeted toward comfortability, refinement and fuel economy. The characteristics of this power-train are consistent with that. There _are_ other, more potent, engine choices available. 3:05 Have you been inside a base model Mercedes-Benz c-class, BMW 3-series, or Audi A4? The materials in these Germans aren’t “keeping the Americans up at night” either, buddy. Most interestingly, while in the backseat of the 2020 Cadillac CT5 you stated your quintessentially 5 foot 10 inch frame *“...don’t fit all that well,* unless I slouch...” despite the fact @ 3:30 you’re clearly sitting straight up w/ your head straight back, and both headroom and knee room to spare. CLEARLY. Yet in your review last year of the 2019 Acura TLX, you claimed “...my middle-of-the-road 5 foot 10 inch frame *fits well enough”* despite the fact you’re slouching/hunched over in all shots and your knees are nearly rubbing up against the front passenger seat. They really messed up with this car and hopefully they can sell a few so they can afford to fix the mistakes. Whoever approved the design of the C pillar needs to be fired and banned from designing cars for life! WTF were they thinking? Looks too much like a average Altima or Accord. I'll take an outgoing ATS or CTS over this. Only thing I like is the fact it's still RWD and has a 10-speed. I'll save for a 3rd Gen "V".
I Really hate that they went with this design, shape & size. Its weirdly size in between a 5 &3 series. The back "slope" down roofline is weird. I dont see what was wrong with the CTS that was out. It just needed upgrading to the interior, maybe a facelift, maybe slightly more technology. They had a good thing & they blew it.
@@mybro727 It looks ok, but its its smaller meaning the rear seats aren't usable for everyone. The interior is slightly better but could have been better. So this is basically a ATS replacement. No 5 series competitor. The CTS V is my dream car. I just think the could have done better.
PowerheadTV Well they ALL could’ve done better in the segment, but we’re talking about Cadillac right now so your assessment is fair. Although I feel this is one of the most spacious in the segment, best looking, most likely best performing, and with a beautiful and simplistic interior which the CTS lacked...it’s definitely a 3-series competitor. My prediction is the next generation CT6 will also be shrinking a few inches in size then moving down the lineup becoming a full fledged 5-series competitor. Then maybe, just MAYBE will Cadillac finally give us the Cadillac Escala flagship sedan to annihilate the 7-series. Also the CT5 will have some of the best rear seat legroom in the segment. Way better than the Lexus IS, Acura ILX, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A4. This guy was being ridiculous when he said he didn’t fit well in the backseat of the CT5 when he clearly had both headroom AND knee room. He seemed very biased against this vehicle. I’ll wait for a more professional and unbiased reviewer to cover the CT5 before passing judgment myself, maybe you should too.

However, Micah’s review and opinions reflect a sense of favoritism resulting in a skewed car analysis misleading the general consensus. How is this car in the same class as a 3 serious bmw or a class mercedes?? This car is wayyyy bigger than both. Im confused. Should this car be in the 5 series class for bmw??
Pre collision system question does it apply breaks for you?
How does Tim look?
How is this car a compact. This car is the same size as a Mercedes E-Class.
And thank you Micah for the rating on the MMECI.
It's being marketed and priced as a compact in part I think to avoid competing with that car and also to make it good bang for your buck or whatever the kids are saying these days
It's cheap cus people don't wanna pay much for it. It's not compact at all.
Looks like an Accord. Maybe it's the C-Pillar that does it mostly. A little on the front as well
I already convinced Myself I’m getting this car
How is the lane keep on it?
I admire Cadillac vision for chromic version for luxury, while adding blacked carbon fiber version for sport.
GM depreciation: In 6 years this will have a lower KBB used car value than a Corolla/Sentra/Civic of the same year.
So the same as a 3-Series and C- Class but better than an audi.
I do not like this car... but that statement is almost ignorant as this is true for all luxury cars, the king and queen of this depreciation is actually MB and BMW.
bigcrowfly what an idiot. Cadillac has the most ignorant haters.
That's not a GM thing, that's a luxury car thing. Almost all car in this segment depreciate like a rock, regardless if they were made by GM or not.
Are you insane?? Lol. An 18.000 dollar car is not going to be the same price as a 40 or 50 thousand dollar CADILLAC car in 6 years. Luxury cars do depreciate badly. But NOT that much.
Holy triceps, Micah!
Finally it's about time!!!
I am looking forward to the Cadillac new cars. But this review did it no justice. Bad car review, don't find the jokes funny, he seems more negative towards the car or maybe the brand. Almost everything he pointed out that he claimed was good or ok, was later meet with a negative end connect. Not a fan, not funny, not professional enough for me.
Juwon Adejuwon I thought it was just me...this guy is so corny and it’s very obvious he’s trying his best to make the car appear worse of a competitor than it actually is smh
Cadillac is not more a luxury brand is just an sport brand if you want a true American Luxury go for Lincoln or Buick
sounds like youre biased and got bothered by a negative review.
Something I’d noticed is that the brand distinction identifiers appear to have crossed corporations and now Cadillacs and Acuras resemble each other.
Yup, it is sooo sad😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😪😪😪😪😪😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
How does it compare to a 2.0t ATS?
ربي ارزقني من واسع فضلك ولكل من قال آمين رب العالمين
Totally!
Ok I maybe wrong did GM have an 2.0 turbo engine that made 270 Hp and 295 torque? Why the step back?
I ask myself this every day
BEE -U-TI-FUL! Diggin' it!
I thought this car was more comparable with the E-Class, A6, GS and the G80.
And it is
They've got it wrong
@@mano23937Maybe in backseat space, which was intentional. This is priced and engineered to compete with the compact class with a midsize interior (particularly important in this car's biggest market - China).
Geeth San Nope. That would be the CT6
CT5 is smaller in the rear than those cars you mentioned. I sat in one and my head was touching the roof, I'm 5'11"
@@lashayhaney8772 the ct6 is 206 inches long
Wait a minute I’m completely LOST, when did Cadillac announce these name changes so now the ATS is the CT4 and the CTS is the CT5 and i thought the CTS (CT5) competed against the BMW 5 series, and the Mercedes Benz E class 👀🤦🏾♂️
Is it really a competitor for the 3 Series? It's the same size like the 5 Series.
Niclas M no it’s not much slower
Audi A6 and Bmw 5 series and e classs rivals ?
Go with the CT6 twin turbo sport, bigger but light weight 3800 ILBs and 404 HP. Rides real smooth as well.
It costs twice as much
Isiah Davis lol. Not true. 60-63K. For CT6 sport.
Isiah Davis ct 5 sport about 44K
Best review ever seen. Thank you
This would be a nice buy used.
I'll go find a legit review instead of some guy who thinks he's cute making the review more about him.

I'd much rather drive a Lincoln!!! Cadillac is definitely going in the wrong direction. I'm glad I still have my 03 Deville.

The CTS was getting old

At 1:27 it's TRUE I test drove one.
I'm a Lincoln guy but these new Cadillacs sure look nice.
In all respect, what could possibly make someone actually like Lincolns. Im just genuinely curious. Thanks.
@@RBZ06LT6 I know my taste is different than the majority’s, but I like the classic and more conservative look of Lincolns. I think Cadillac and every other luxury car brand (with few exceptions) have been coming out with very sporty, boy-racer-like designs, which I’m not particularly fond of. Lincolns are also very comfortable and reasonably-priced. I like their understated elegance, which is something that the vast majority of luxury cars lack. Anyhow, it’s just a personal taste of mine and I can understand if you or others disagree and have a different taste and opinion.
I came just to watch Micah Muzio's take. His is more entertaining than others at KBB.
CTS was better in every way, just needed a new interior but this ain’t it GM parts bin
Michael Mcmillon the CTS was *not* better in every way. You must be a GM troll?
What parts are shared?
Michael Mcmillon what the hell are you talking about? You’ve clearly never ever laid eyes on a base model cts. This is worlds better in every single way. Your comment is blasphemy and complete bullshit haha
Why Cadillac cut power on there 2 liter turbos? It was 275 hp 295 lbs
This is a different 2 liter engine than before.
@@Roderickdl it's new but why they cut power? The Old 2.0 was impressive, it was putting out the same HP and torque as a V8 Northstar.
Because they want to go out of business?
I hate it when car reviewers fault car companies for going to USB type-c. It will be the norm and who doesn't like future proofing?
Could be a nice alternative luxury sedan to be had for under $55K if such one exists with all or most of the bells and whistles. Gj Cadillac 👏 if I find out it's not unreliable, you may have a shot
Your sarcasm when reviewing any GM brand is so annoying and the most negatively biased reviews ever. Try being more professional in your reviews. Nobody is thinking it's Whitty or funny.
It’s a four banger how is it supposed to sound
The penny pinching has officially killed Cadillac. This is a step backwards. That c pillar fake glass thing is offensive
Right?? Its so ugly
Blake Swan meanwhile the Lincoln MKZ is a rebadged front wheel drive gussied up Ford Fusion. Cadillac gets all the ridiculous criticism from you trolls and it doesn’t make any sense

Man this thing is as large as my 2014 toyota avalon but folks are referring to it as a compact. Its midsize at the least. Its size is the prime reason im considering it frankly. Price is great even if the interior is on par with a mainstream midsize sedan.
Hi Micah Muzio 😄, the exterior color of the CT5 you reviewed looks amazing. I did not know until this vid that the CT4 and CT5 are in dealerships now. I'm so looking forward to the reveal of the 2020 Nissan Sentra. I like Tim, he's tall like me and seems chill. I realize the banter is part of your friendship.

Gay
It was Buick Regal / Opel Insignia, now it is also a Caddy
That with an all wheel drive V-8 would be sick
I was thinking that the CT5 compet against BMW 5 series and Mercedes E class 🤔 not the 3 series and C class
Nobunaga Oda I predict the new redesigned Cadillac CT6 will lose several overall inches in length like the CTS did here with it’s successor the Cadillac CT5.
I do like how it sounds
Sexy car, but is it reliable?
Major step down from the CTS in my opinion
I can't get over how the rear side view looks so much like the previous gen Nissan Versa.
LOL, sad and True😂
That’s a hell of A LOT more than I can say about Mazda, Lincoln, Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, etc.
Why don't you stick to defending your position by just talking about the car instead of attacking me personally, which you've done twice now. Learn to communicate in a civil manner.
Really poor review
The ct5 should be in the eclass 5 series catagory
AA K that’s what I’m thinking. And the ct4 would be the 3 series, c class, & A4, category
Why wouldn't that be the 5series or E class competition? That car is bigger than a 3 series
I’m calling *bullshit,* dude.

@mybro727
Ah.............now it ALL makes perfect sense.
You're *BIG MAD* because you want to buy a new CT5, but the a large portion of the general comments & reviews on the CT5 find the overall exterior design tacky and sub-par.
This is the *REAL* reason why you consistently troll the RUclips comment section ridiculing those who don't share your positive thoughts on the Cadillac CT5!
😄
*SAD!* 😀
TheBjjones how does that make sense? I’m “BIG MAD” because i can afford to shop in this segment meanwhile you’re BIG MAD that you can’t and as a result troll the vehicles in RUclips comments? Yeah that makes sense, you are very bright! 💀💀💀
TheBjjones Please explain why “general comments & reviews” or opinions from majority of people who probably can’t even afford this car would make me upset and somehow change the fact that it’s what I want to buy with _my_ money?? LMDAO. You are such an idiot.
Bro this car is luxurious ash
Fabulous!!!!
MICAH! Nicely done, sir.
PowerheadTV this thing is beautifully done and way better than the CTS. You guys are on crack.
This is a massaged CTS
In this video, Micah seems to hint off that he is an avid Honda enthusiast. Honda, in fact, does manufacture a great automobile without a doubt. No questions asked! However, Micah’s review and opinions reflect a sense of favoritism resulting in a skewed car analysis misleading the general consensus. From the Start, the audience appears to be mislead with heavily opinionated comments and inaccurate, incomprehensible speculations. Bottom Line is that the Cadillac CT5 will bypass all tiers of credibility it could’ve possibly earned from starting line to finish due to lack of competence in the observe and report department.
I test drove a CT5 for about an hr. The 4cyl engine Is GOD AWFUL and out of place In a........CADILLAC.
