The blackwing v8 is in two configuration’s. It comes in the top end ct6 platinum and is 500hp and it comes in the ct6 V and is 550. The 3.0TT is super cool, I bet with a some high flow down pipes and a tune it would be close to 500hp. If I were ever to buy a ct6 it would prob be the 3.0tt. The v8 is out of my price range and the 2.0t and 3.6v6 shouldn’t have been an option. It should have only been the 3.0tt and the two trims of v8
Cadillac ATS is amazing, I have a 14 ats 2.0t that’s being hotted up. downpipe, intake, larger throttle body, hi po coil packs, catch can, upgraded turbo diverter. Soon installing the flex fuel sensor and tuning for e47. Then intercooler and cat back exhaust, exhaust manifold, then the 3.77 diff from a wreck Camaro. My oldest son is a Cadillac fan. He got his start with a 1995 Deville Concours, then bought a 2006 DTS when the 95 got totaled on the expressway by a semi forcing him off the road. The DTS didn't hold up very well mechanically in relation to the first car. He traded it in for a 2018 XTS, and so far, it has been an excellent move. The CT6 is his dream car, and we did drive one at the truth or dare driving event Cadillac puts on every summer, it's a shame it's being discontinued, it's quite a car.
Simply put the car is not affordable. Not by common ppl in America anyway. And the ones who can afford it only care about car name plates and are not going to pay $100K for a Cadillac when they can go get a Benz.
Fun fact: the fabrication company I work for had done a masking rig for a prototype of the engine cover for this car It’s Pretty much a massive piece of nickel that covers up everything but the parts that is silver so it can be painted properly, the nickel mask and the mold we used apparently weighed something like 75lbs and took up the whole nickel plating tank, (this all happened over a year ago, so I wasn’t there)
Awesome performance package. Also, since it's twin turbo you'll likely be able to extract even more power with a simple tune! One of the hidden benefits of most manufacturers moving away from NA.
Ah man. The last two generations of CTSs and CTS-Vs were also gorgeous, even the CTS-V Sport Wagon. Now that was a shaggin' wagon! I'm getting a cargasm just thinking about it.
Yooooooow I found you guys on my feed one day a few weeks ago and I am absolutely blown away!!!! Your intros are the best anywhere and the ongoing commentary is amazingly balanced with the car's specs. Keep up the great work!!! Also, I agree that Cadillac really shot themselves in the foot with cancelling this beast of a car.
I really enjoy your videos. I get grand tour/ old top gear vibes. You two have chemistry and all the videos I've watched have been enjoyable regardless of the car being reviewed. Keep it up gents !
Unless you disable the traction control (or use 1 of the 5 Performance Traction Management settings in Track mode), you won't drift by just being in Sport mode as the traction and stability control systems will start to auto-correct. My ATS-V sedan is the best car I've ever owned!
I don’t know why so many here are upset they canceled it. I highly doubt anyone here can even afford to buy and maintain this car. They made a limited number because only a limited number can and will buy one.
It's because that the price on these things will actually appreciate instead of depreciate. You can get a Vbadge that normally would cost close to 100k down to 30k in only a few years. Cadillac is notorious, rather GM in general, for depreciation on their performance cars like CTS, corvette and camaros. With a limited production, exclusive V8 and the product line discontinued, the price on these will be off the charts when it becomes labeled as "collector's"
They are haters of anything American. It is an opportunity for them to say something bad over something good that is made in the US. In other words even if it is a good product they will use it to make a negative comment. This car was around for sometime you will not find positive comment about even if you looked for it, until they see this video.
@@squidproquo2241 true. But do people really buy cars over $80k. They will mostly lease it or should I say people that can afford it will probably lease it just like german cars. $100k for any car is to much.
As consumers, we have to reward excellence . . . I was going to purchase a 2020 Audi RS6 Avant or a 2019 Mercedes-AMG E63 S wagon . . . instead, last Friday, I purchased a 2019 Black Raven Cadillac CT6-V from Gordon at Wolfe Cadillac in Edmonton. Hope that Cadillac continues to bridge the gap between design, luxury and technology.
I just purchased an actual Kathy Walker assembled 2020 CT6V Blackwing today. The performance is incredible and my 2020 Escalade ESV is not even remotely in the neighborhood as far as performance is concerned. There is no comparison, and my 2020 Escalade is a beast. for an ESUV. Driving this vehicle was an absolute driving experience. The subtle experience of feel of speed is hard to quantify. I went from 70 to 95 on open road and didn't feel anything. The comments that the speed felt effortless are spot on.
GM builds some of the best chassis and suspensions in the industry, journalists praise the dynamics of the cars, it rarely breaks though and people give the products no credit because of minor deficiencies in interior materials or perceived brand uncoolness. I don't know whether to blame GM or ourselves, but I really want to see the American driver's car live on.
Craig R. Funny part is they all have plastic buttons everywhere except the most of the 2020 benzs.. they’re mostly aluminum buttons now.. which is a hella upgrade on the eyes.. imo
As an audio guy having more speakers doesn't always mean better sound but in this case the extra speakers are used to sound scape, basically just making the audio in the car sound more full and direct wheather that be music, radio, podscasts. I've personally sat in a CT6 and tried out the system and I really loved it, i actually thought it was one of the best systems in the whole auto show.

It’s Pretty much a massive piece of nickel that covers up everything but the parts that is silver so it can be painted properly, the nickel mask and the mold we used apparently weighed something like 75lbs and took up the whole nickel plating tank, (this all happened over a year ago, so I wasn’t there)
0:57 the tachometer inverted, to help you keep rpm above 4,000. I'm sold !
2:33 the ad was inserted flawlessly😉
When the ad is so smooth, you don't even know it is an ad.
Awesome performance package. Also, since it's twin turbo you'll likely be able to extract even more power with a simple tune! One of the hidden benefits of most manufacturers moving away from NA.
I miss old Cadillac, every now and again they let something amazing slip out, just enough to remind us all of what they used to be.
GM: we finally made an excellent luxury sedan.
Also GM: cancel the damn thing now!
Make this channel bigger everyone!!! Share it!!
they've gotten 13k more in the past week alone. Keep going!
good to see a cadillac that looks damn good at last.
Ah man. The last two generations of CTSs and CTS-Vs were also gorgeous, even the CTS-V Sport Wagon. Now that was a shaggin' wagon! I'm getting a cargasm just thinking about it.
But no one bought it
Why so jealous?
The whole car needs a 8mm lower stance and fatter rear rubber and it would be a legend
Yooo what up Mario. Thanks buddy we gon keep on keepin on
I am so very confident Cadillac will roll out the next gen Blackwing sedan. Probably add a 48V mild hybrid though.
Which will tack an extra 400 pounds on it, ruining the handling.
Nope
GM really seems to be doing well with their performance cars right now. Here's hoping that trend continues!
Lol they are right now still. Look at the CT5-V blackwing😅
Aged like fine wine
I love that digital tachometer, so beautifully elegant
I really enjoy your videos. I get grand tour/ old top gear vibes. You two have chemistry and all the videos I've watched have been enjoyable regardless of the car being reviewed. Keep it up gents !
GM: Makes a good car
Me: Wait thats illegal
GM: We know
Me: No I didn't mean....!!!!!
GM: 🪓
Me:😭
Priyansh D 😂😂
Priyansh D 🤣😂 best comment here!!
LOL SO TRUE
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful car. I rented a CTS and fell in love with it. This V version is even sexier.
I like it, no way we will be seeing it over in the UK!!
Peace From London. 👍🏻
I LOVE my ATS-V SEDAN! The balance is spot on. I drift it every corner in Sport mode. If I want it to hook up Ice mode.
Unless you disable the traction control (or use 1 of the 5 Performance Traction Management settings in Track mode), you won't drift by just being in Sport mode as the traction and stability control systems will start to auto-correct. My ATS-V sedan is the best car I've ever owned!
Cadillac makes some great cars I have had one that makes my days and adventure when ever I get in it.
For the first time since I was a kid, I'm excited about an American car! Thank you GM!
I don’t know why so many here are upset they canceled it. I highly doubt anyone here can even afford to buy and maintain this car. They made a limited number because only a limited number can and will buy one.
Hey!!! How DARE you try and make sense!! Lol people don't want to hear the truth
Tell me about it.
It's truly beautiful, it's a pity that the production's so limited.
They are all nice
As consumers, we have to reward excellence . . . I was going to purchase a 2020 Audi RS6 Avant or a 2019 Mercedes-AMG E63 S wagon . . . instead, last Friday, I purchased a 2019 Black Raven Cadillac CT6-V from Gordon at Wolfe Cadillac in Edmonton. Hope that Cadillac continues to bridge the gap between design, luxury and technology.
Other car reviewers: Release a Toyota Highlander video today!
CarThrottle: Release a “Blackwing” video today!
This is why I love you guys
WDYM, Car throttle didn't make a video on the Blackwing motor.
*throttle house
I just purchased an actual Kathy Walker assembled 2020 CT6V Blackwing today. The performance is incredible and my 2020 Escalade ESV is not even remotely in the neighborhood as far as performance is concerned. There is no comparison, and my 2020 Escalade is a beast. for an ESUV. Driving this vehicle was an absolute driving experience. The subtle experience of feel of speed is hard to quantify. I went from 70 to 95 on open road and didn't feel anything. The comments that the speed felt effortless are spot on.
Shut up that styling looks better than any European car. This exact color and trim is what I love
I wish they had introduced this before the refresh. I like the 2016 model’s exterior.
That is actually a GM product I would lease for at least a year, drive the crap out of it and then return it before it falls apart.
The intro and outro had me laughing! "Blackwing!" "Yes Thomas....Blackwing..."
Excellent excellent review. You guys are so great at reviewing cars. I feel like it's a movie every time 🙌
A badass Cadillac that makes Lincoln guys a bit more envious than they would probably ever admit.
Craig R. Funny part is they all have plastic buttons everywhere except the most of the 2020 benzs.. they’re mostly aluminum buttons now.. which is a hella upgrade on the eyes.. imo
It's the perceived uncoolness. The fanboys are ridiculous. Cadillac could cure cancer and they'd still hate on it.
The smile on Thomas’s face when he launched it 😂
NANANANANANANA BLACKWING!
I always love the way GM cars drive
These guys are super funny. Great review guys.. 🔥🔥
You guys have everything we are searching for. Informative and funny in the same time.
Cadillac's v class is just amazing!
Well done guys. These are extremely well-made videos. Funny, insightful, and well-made.
Whenever GM gets a car right, they immediately end it. Still an awesome car and great review.
Blackwing is now the official performance name for Cadillac V's! Thomas was right!
I would love to see this vs S63 vs S8 :)
Another great one in the books!! Time for beerrrrsssss
they are better cars than this sorry to say but the s is the daddy on top for more than 50 years and this car came yesterdaay and people start to do comparision with the s class just to give it some publicity
@@sokolmiftari9086 agreed, I've had an S and a vew A8's now that the 2020's have arrived I DONT KNOW WHICH ONE I LIKE MORE lol
@@DeeJayAdverb you are doing good for yourself man
@@sokolmiftari9086 meh just ok. My current A8 is old its a 2015. Not that ballin ;) I'm on ig as well: @djadverb
Excellent review - great car. Shame it has stopped production - makes no sense. We would adore that car here in Australia to replace our supercharged Commodores. Life is often very unfair! Thanks for a really entertaining, fun and informative review. You guys ROCK! Love your style!
If Cadillac had come out with a Catera-V, would it have been named the Darkwing Duck? 🤔
Love seeing someone that knows about the Catera!
That's cool to see the autoworkers put their names on the engine cover. It's a 4-door Vette! "Cadillac by Dre." Priceless!
This and the Lexus GS F are my favorite modern sport sedans. Lot of car for 50k or so used
Sounds like GM quality if the paint job comes already messed up lol
GiovanniLACA17XD dealer probably “prepped the car”
Nah, most cars that get cleaned at a dealership before delivery get paint swirls. That was just their sponsorship plug-in for CeramicPro
Its GM so... 😂😂😂
@@masterwhopper414 Good point, cuz i had '13 malibu and the paint was gorgeous it was metallic gold in don't know if the name was accurate but even after couple of years whenever i wash it it shines more than it should tbh
Teslas are worst when it comes to paint job and fit. Eww!
Ray Donovan Throttle House, 100K for that, i guess the G90 is a steal.
Ray Donovan made me Look for this !
Very nice (two years later)! Maybe now that Caddy is selling the 668 hp CT5 V “ Blackwing” (thanks, Thomas), I’ll be able to afford a used one of these... well, maybe in another 10 years or so.
Can’t believe I’m just finding this channel now. Awesome video! Great to see more Canadian reviews!
I might flip my BMW for this beauty
GM: Lets add vibrating seats!!
Men: No way
Women: Does it have 2 vibrating speeds? Like a high and low speed?
😂😂😂
I definitely dont need a vibration feature lol
Ctfu 😂😂🤦🏾♂️
I did a road trip in a brand new Escalade one time and the seats felt so hard. Far from soft and luxurious.
They are super hard especially new
James is substantially one of the funniest people I've ever seen! ❤
You guys are responsible for Blackwing being a thing in 2022. GM owes you big.
Loved that intro! hahaha another great review, keep it up guys. Merry Christmas from North West UK!
Calling it right now : that's the engine in the new corvette
I was thinking same thing but Cadillac boss said NO. Remember they trademarked E-RAY and the C8 has room for electric motor under the front trunk. (can't bring myself to say frunk)..
Not the engine, but the engine family. It will share bore centers and some tooling, but the Z06 will not be hot vee and 5.5.
You guys should do a collab with the straight pipes! That be amazing!
OMG the sound of that exhaust sounds better than my V8 Porsche Cayenne Twin Turbo. Beautiful Cadillac
Not just the specs are awesome, the design is gorgeous. Those front lights are unique
