I don't really care for Cadillac that much but one thing I absolutely love about this car that it doesn't have one of those stuck on screen infotainment systems I like the fact this one here is fully integrated into the dashboard and makes it look like Cadillac Engineers really took the time out to design the car and the infotainment system properly.
This video gets a Doug score of 7/10, it falls short due to the lack of "dash cam" footage and very few exterior shots. It also falls some due to no night vision test but is forgivable due to many other redeeming factors
I bought my 2018 Cadillac CT6 brand new with the 3.0TT and supercruise and it's the best car I've ever owned. Mine is pearl white the cinnamon leather and carbon fiber interior. The supercruise is a game-changer -- the car's handling and power are the icing on the cake.

As a director for Cadillac for the last six years, the reason you can turn that mirror off is because it can give you motion sickness because it does me and I turn it off when I drive the vehicles but it’s absolutely night vision I use it at night to see a bigger picture
While a washer for your rear back up cameras are nice, I'd like a little nozzle that also blasts it with air because there are times when it's been particularly heavy with rain and you go to reverse and the camera is covered in water... a quick airblast would fix that.
As a non-american who hardly ever sees American cars in his own country apart from Fiestas and Focuses, it's always enjoyable to see Cadillacs, Lincolns, Ford Crown Vics, and other American cars that people in the States treat as normal ^_^
These Fords you've mentioned have literally nothing even remotely american in them. and as for why american cars aren't seen much outside the US is quality. even "cheap" european cars are usually miles ahead of US cars...

It's a shame they all have issues. CTS and ATS all have mold growing in the evaporator coil which requires 12 hours at the dealer removing the entire dash and seats to replace. Piston failures on the 2.0 turbo, 3.6tt on the vsport has several issues, steering column lock warning messages. The ATS and CTS are both garbage. I've owned three of them. I will never buy another Cadillac again. The CT6 suffers from transmission issues too. XT5 you cant even turn off auto start and stop. SRX was good, and Escalade is good too. Everything else is crap.

There are several display configuration options with the digital dash, you can pick the sport theme which gives the Tach more presence. You can also just have it on the heads up display, your choice.

It was between the ES350, 5-Series or CT6, never cared for Cadillac, but I had to go with the CT6 Luxury w/SCP, I got a 2018, my car is exactly the color, rims, like the one in the video, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s so fast, and smooth. And it has WAY more features that Lexus and BMW didn’t have,like remote start, panoramic roof, more HP with that signature Cadillac sound, and I think it was $34k plus w/ 65k miles, anyway, I’m VERY happy.
GM offers the most bullshit warranties they will nickel and dime you, I had a terrible experience were they took four times to fix my air conditioner and never could until it ran out of warranty, Later I found out they were just cheap and never actually replace parts
Good review, but you misrepresented the rear view camera mirror. You said that toggle is to turn off the mirror and kinda made fun of it, but it’s actually an option to revert back to a normal mirror. IMO that’s amazing to have both options 👍🏼
@@iAaronHD LOL CTS? Hell nah, that's a mid-size. It seems like your really young. All flagships (ship = like a boat) are their top of the line full-size car. Cadillac is hinting towards a true "flagship" since they won't call the CT6 a flagship. Also since the discontinuation of the rest of the Cadillac car line-up, it would only be the CT5 and the "flagship" (based on the Escala concept car).
Only SUVs, minivans, & station wagons ever get better than 6 out of 10 it seems by Doug's standards...plus it's trunk is small compared with old Cadillacs or a new $25,000 Kia. Still 5 does seem low imo...6 would have been fair.

Hey Doug. The rear seat reminder uses a sensor in the rear seat cushion that apparently recognizes any weight placed on it. My 2018 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab always reminds me to check my rear seat when I have a box or bag sitting on it. It doesn't have anything to do with opening a rear door.
You can get a premium luxary for 28k what used to be 90k that is less than a third of the price how did they get that cheap in 4 years that means it lost 62k in value what is 15500 a year

Unfortunately, the center console cell phone charger doesn't charge Samsung phones. I have a CT6 and my Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus doesn't charge. Cadillac doesn't have a fix for it yet.
My XT5 wireless charging doesn't work with neither the iPhone X or Samsung Note 8 nor the S9. But it's kinda pointless since you need to connect the phone to use Google Car or Apple Car.
The temp controls have buttons for both dual zones in the front and dual zones in the back. You don’t have to use the touch screen or the trac pad, but it’s available for those who prefer it. I own a CT 6 and I change the temp with the buttons. No problem.
I WANT THAT! The camera washers, 3 different modes of scrolling/selecting, camera mirror, and self driving mode are pretty neat additions. I know self driving doesn't work everywhere, but as someone who goes on many family vacations, having the option of your car doing the driving on the interstate and major highways is a God-send. Driving long hours even with cruise control is tiring, believe me. Also, the mirror switch is for those who don't like the camera or have broken their rearview camera somehow. You can legally drive without one (as long as the two side mirrors work), but future laws might make it illegal. It would also be unsafe to drive without a functioning rearview mirror, especially for new drivers.

The CT6 actually sold No. 2 to Mercedes during the time it was built. It outsold A8, 7-series, G90, and Lexus LS.

It does work, I can guarantee you that.
It's infrared so it sees through sunglasses. It's similar to how Samsung iris scan also works through even the most guido mirrored lenses.
It works the same way my iPhone X can still read my face even with sunglasses on.

The software department didn't really care when it came to drawing the icons for the infotainment system. Those look Windows Vista level 12:28

Cadillac is hinting towards a true "flagship" since they won't call the CT6 a flagship. Also since the discontinuation of the rest of the Cadillac car line-up, it would only be the CT5 and the "flagship" (based on the Escala concept car).

@2:20 Super Cruise is a window into the automotive future. By the end of the 2020s some Cadillac models will have full LIDAR mapped autonomy drive mode with option for "manual" (use caution) drive mode.

Hey Doug. The rear seat reminder uses a sensor in the rear seat cushion that apparently recognizes any weight placed on it. My 2018 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab always reminds me to check my rear seat when I have a box or bag sitting on it. It doesn't have anything to do with opening a rear door.

This was a severely underrated car. This was the only Cadillac I would have considered purchasing.

Unfortunately, the center console cell phone charger doesn't charge Samsung phones. I have a CT6 and my Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus doesn't charge. Cadillac doesn't have a fix for it yet.

My XT5 wireless charging doesn't work with neither the iPhone X or Samsung Note 8 nor the S9. But it's kinda pointless since you need to connect the phone to use Google Car or Apple Car.
If you break into it make sure to steal the SD card.

The temp controls have buttons for both dual zones in the front and dual zones in the back. You don’t have to use the touch screen or the trac pad, but it’s available for those who prefer it. I own a CT 6 and I change the temp with the buttons. No problem.

The security camera feature needs to be on every car.
I WANT THAT! The camera washers, 3 different modes of scrolling/selecting, camera mirror, and self driving mode are pretty neat additions. I know self driving doesn't work everywhere, but as someone who goes on many family vacations, having the option of your car doing the driving on the interstate and major highways is a God-send. Driving long hours even with cruise control is tiring, believe me. Also, the mirror switch is for those who don't like the camera or have broken their rearview camera somehow. You can legally drive without one (as long as the two side mirrors work), but future laws might make it illegal. It would also be unsafe to drive without a functioning rearview mirror, especially for new drivers.
