@@sirloin4372classier and more of a sleeper for sure, which is cooler imo, because you can look elegant and understated and then surprise others with its performance. There’s some things I like more with the 3 series but I’d probably go with the ATS at the end of the day
Yes it does I recently bought one in white and when I got to the dealership I couldn’t believe how much better it looked in person I love this car so much I got one model less then the platinum version the premium luxury model which has carbon fiber in interior instead of wood which I love but this car drives like a dream I’m so happy I got this over Mercedes like I was going do I just can’t believe I don’t see more of them on the rd it’s definitely hands down the best car for your money I’m still finding more things it does all the time Cadillac really set the bar high on this one
All you have to do is look at the 10 best/worst rated for reliability vehicles. Benz is always in the bottom 10. One is less likely to admit this after shelling out 100k for a car.
My favorite car of the 21st Century so far! Very sharp looking. Once I find one cheap enough I’ll get one! I’m 18 and I think a lot of people my age like new Cadillacs.
Ok not so much of the Art & Science theme on the outside design but I do give the interior kudos for executing a stylish fairly simple layout & ergonomics! Appreciate the fact that the nav screen isn't that dorky tacked on look everyone seems to be incorporating these days, wish it had the hidden storage screen option in this model! Gear selector is stately & definitely Cadillac, glad they didn't copy BMW's joystick design yuk! Cadillac just needs more tweaking with their consistency with their overall design theme to fully reintroduce themselves to the world as the "New" Standard Of The World!!
That is close in size to the E Class and 5 Series! Of which is a nice deal! More beautiful car with great ride and handling. Now if I was in the market for a big luxury car, I would not hesitate to buy a CT6! As it is I am seriously looking at an ATS.
S-Class is above and beyond basically any other car in it's segment, but for everything else in the class, I think the CT6 is the best of the rest. Its interior is much more modernized than the Germans. Look at the angles and the use of different materials. compared to the Audis and BMW's, it has more angularity and depth (A8 interior is close but looks way too straight-edged)
I used to buy fords but after buying a used 2014 Cadillac CTS luxury 2.0 turbo with 34,000 miles on it for under 20,000 I know it’s not the V but love the way it looks drives and the leather interior with the wood trim is class Love the protector lights that turn as you turn the led lights class The Boise system blows me away It’s 5 years old and just did the first oil change it has no rust underneath where my 2013 Ford Escape had plenty of rust on bolts and such

Lol. After watching this review i feel that i bought a vintage ride!!! Lol. This car is badass! Gotta save some serious pennies now!!!
Cadillac does seem to be back. One would certainly have to include Cadillac when considering a top of the line luxury car. I don't think Lincoln has anything that come even close to the CT6. It is world class in my op.
irakatski- Okay, okay, the 2018 Lincoln Continental Black Label Edition was not fairly considered when I made my comment. It is one of the nicest Links I have ever seen, no doubt. It is a contender...
irakatski Continental Black Label is definitely a nice alternative but I wouldn’t buy one over a Premium Luxury CT6 let alone a Platinum trim level CT6.
notformebeaky Lol. I don’t give a crap about what’s selling in Europe and in my opinion that shouldn’t be Cadillac’s main concern either being that they’re an American brand and just recently redefined that brand. Selling *in America* is what should be at the top of their priorities, first and foremost. I would expect Cadillac’s sales to do better in America than in Europe, it’s an American brand. *However the world definitely doesn’t ignore American designs and vehicles.* American vehicles don’t just appeal to North Americans either. The CT6 is compared to S-class and 7-series because it’s similar in size to those vehicles and a great alternative. Also it’s technically Cadillac’s flagship sedan so reviewers and the public are automatically gonna compare it to MB and BMW’s own flagships. It’s still NOT Cadillac’s answer to that segment. That’d be the CT8/Escala.
You are absolutely right this CT6 is by far the best Cadillac I've owned, & when I get up on a 550 Benz or a bmw, or even a Lexus 460 them boys get to shaking ❤ this Cadillac is no joke ❤ & by the way nice video
Thanks for such a detailed review. The only big differences this gen ct6 has different from the 2019+ ct6 besides the obvious exterior styling would be the transmission and the center console. New ct6 gets the 10 sp where this one has the 8 spnand and trackpad vs wheel joggle controling the cue. Most everything else is carried over, panaray speakers dual rear monitors sunroof sun shades power rear seats wIth massage rearview mirror 3.0tt 4 wheel steering super cruise all are same technology from this gen of ct6. Steering wheel looks the same too... I might be one of the few that like the older styling more than the new. To me this looks more aggressive than the sleeker newer 2019+ models. Time to find a used one equipped like this one hopefully with relatively low milage.
I guess GM's board finally got the memo that GM has to develop better engineered cars on par with BMW and Mercedes, its not quite at their level yet, but model by model its slowly gaining on them.
Look at a 1988 Cadillac Cimarron. Cadillac in the past 30 years has definitely changed. But going from competing with Maybach, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes, and Bentley to competing with Chevy's and Toyota's is pretty saddening. Cadillac used to be the innovators and inventors of the automotive industry and I think at least with "Supercruise" self driving they're finally getting back their mojo.
It's not like they're wrong... The level in a Bimmer alone is more sumptuous than what this Caddy is trying to do. Bimmer on the interior are jewel like in execution, where caddy does not differ its interiors from the set up in a Buick or Chevy
If you're spending 80,000+ on a car, you have enough money to throw buying sensibly out the window. You have enough money to pick almost anything you want.
My Second Car at age 17 was a 1973 Fleetwood Brougham with a super Chromed grill add on with the Godesses hair flowing. I thought I was KING of the roads back in 1976. I bought it used from dads my Uncle with almost 65K on it. They drove from NE to Florida each winter and back in the late spring. The car was a perfection and I couldn’t believe it was mine for only $1700. But back in 1979 I was paying $70 a week in gas at $1 a gallon! Hell, I only spend $8 a week now with a new Impala at $3.65 a gallon. Everywhere I drove that old Caddy which wasn’t so old back then I got the looks and the people would wonder how I could afford such a car. I kept that car sparkling but not so much in the maintainance Dept. Back when you only put money in when something broke. I traded it in 1980 for a brand New Car and got $2900 trade allowance towards my new Cougar XR-7. That stickered for just under $10K. Great times but terrible era for cars early 80’s - mid 90’s. Only the Big Boats were decent. and the Trans Am and Iroc Z. Everything else was experiments.
Forget the 2018 model and get the 2019 V model with the optional brand new design DOHC V8 engine. It's 4.2 liters with twin turbos and 500 HP and torque of 553 pounds feet. It is the first GM design of a V8 with DOHC and 4 valves per cylinder. Want even more power in the CT6? Get the V Sport version with a 550 HP 4.2 V8 that has about 640 plus lbs feet of torque. Both the 500 and 550 horse engines use a ten speed automatic trans. This will be a Mercedes beater and it's built in America, not by refugees who work at the Mercedes factory in Germany. MAGA.
The most beautiful Cadillac. But that interior doesn’t seem to have the sense of occasion as the S class, no car in this segment matches the s class in terms of the interior. This is still very beautiful, Great review.
In Europe would be more unique to see it on the road then a Ferrari. But considering our gas prices are 10 times higher then yours Cadillac would needed some 3 liter biturbo diesel engine for our market. All our german cars Merc, BMW, Audi are borring to see, they are everywhere, Cadillac would be so refreshing to see on our roads.
Since when did GM bring back 4 wheel steering? I remember it being in their SUV’s like the suburban but i didn’t know it came back. They need to make this an option in the big SUV’s again because it really only failed because the price was too high and once it dropped the dealers didn’t market the option and lost interest so it was dropped. By far one of the coolest most useful features I’ve ever seen on a car let alone a full size SUV. I hope it comes back some day soon since it’s on other GM cars.
I like the black on black, looks so much better on luxury cars as they did in the 80's & on such as the Lincoln Town Car & Cadillac Brougham & Fleetwood. Lincoln Continental have more wood & maybe nicer wood in the Continental with the black interior for an example but this is still a nice looking luxury car Cadillac has.
What are the dimensions of that box you tested? Cadillac doesn’t publish trunk dimensions and this is quite critical for many buyers. It would be great to know the width, length and height of the truck including the wider rear area and narrower area behind the rear seats. Thanks
I find your positive review intriguing. Having owned one for a year, my experience with my Cadillac CT6 AWD Luxury is that it is a poorly designed, cheaply made car that has needed extensive repairs, a replacement transmission, build-quality issues and a very unpleasant and expensive experience. Brand loyalist here, but Cadillac blew it with the CT6. More problems than I can list here. Glad for you that you loved your test drive so much.
I’m just going by my experience with it which is a lot shifter than yours. Sorry to hear about yours. I appreciate the real world comments in the car though.
Agree that yours is a thorough and well-done review. I'm struggling with a lemon CT6, so that obviously effects my opinion. Great looking car, though the transmission issues have impacted owner satisfaction.
I have had five Lexus cars and was looking to buy the 2018 model. I was very disappointed in the technology and the design of the front was so bad my wife did not want to even consider it. We looked at numerous vehicles and finally decided the Cadillac CT6 was the one we wanted. Why? Technology, Hands free, all the latest safety tech, night vision, room inside the cabin and trunk, driving tech such as the back wheels actually turning and more. The trim is very nice and competes with the $110,000 line of automobiles. I like my CT6 and probably will trade my remaining Lexus for another Cadillac if they continue with this type of quality and design.
Good video but you did not answer the question on the title; Can it compete with the S class or 7 series (Long wheel base versions in USA) ? The answer is no! As a serious Cadillac fan, I hope they do in near future but for now, the CT6 is not yet mature to run against S class. Cadillac should really stop playing the middle game here and by that I mean having CT6 placed between E and S class'. CT6 has the edge over E class but falls short compared to S class.
It's like an open ended question. I'd like to hear some conversation of what other think as well. What's better or not is purely opinion. I will give my opinion upon what's better but I'm sure there will be many that will agree or not agree.
Everyday Reviews I look forward to your review of s560. I’m 6’7(201cm) tall. So the interior volume is very important for me and my family. My opinion was as a result of test driving both S class and CT6. Cadillac confirmed that CT6 does not truly compete with either S class or 7 series long wheel base versions. There were rumors about a CT8 model under development but nothing is confirmed or denied. I personally look forward to that and will seriously consider buying one once it comes out. For now CT6 even loaded with optional executive rear passenger seats which will cost almost $90k is not a very potent alternative to S550 or 740i. To be honest Genesis G90 competes better in that respect which is in a sense sad!
Everyday Reviews I wish you would give your opinion more. Even if I disagree with it I will respect it. I want to hear your opinion. The specs I can look up on the dealers site but a professional's opinion I can not. I want to hear what you really dislike and like
My kid had an 2014 ATS, never mind the infotainment screen cracking inside(changed twice), when time to change a headlight, the dealer wanted to charge $648.00 for a single headlight. They had to take out bumper to change a light bulb. labor charge was around $345.00. talk about how many guys it takes to change a light bulb. Form there we drove to Honda dealer traded ATS and got her a new 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T. We never look back since. not a single problem. Our family try very hard to use American products but, over 600 for a light bulb change??????
I’ve taken one out before, it is nice but it’s definitely not a competitor to my S-class or similar cars but then again it’s much cheaper. It’s a very good looking car though.
why wouldn't it compare??? i can get the CT6 and a CT-V for what that S class cost. not to mention the cost it takes to even own a S class. Better value cheaper to service and smooth almost the same power for about 70 to 80,000 and at some cases over a 100,000 cheaper.
For myself, if I was to get a Mercedes-Benz, I would get the E class over the S class. But if I was to choose either the Cadillac CT6 or the Mercedes-Benz S Class, I would go for the Cadillac. Because why would I want to spend $89,900 on a S Class, when I can get the Cadillac CT6 for $54,095? Just saying....
Nice car, not sure it’s really an S class competitor though. It’s still notably cheaper. Also not a fan of those back sweet screens. Already looks dated.
The problem lies in that it is too big for a modern executive luxury car. Any rich buyer who drives a black CT6 will get confused by people as a Chauffeur driving his boss around. It happened to me in Beverly Hills when we rented the previous body style Lexus LS 460.
In the long run, hopefully the build quality is respectable. I love my ATS, but you can see where shortcuts were taken and the car is only 5 years old.
Like what? I've worked on these cars since they came out and I drive one to work every day and they have the same build quality as the other cars in their segment
It's called a pre delivery inspection. It includes installing the last few options for the customer and inspecting for defects. All cars get inspected before they get sold
Nice car and reasonably priced... Always have owned and been a Cadillac fan but would like to see this car offered with a V8 around 500 hp.... Then you would really have something to compare to the AMG, M5, F Type R, etc...
@@EverydayReviews2022 My wife have a 17 XT5 and I have a 17 CT6. I always drove the larger DTS but idk the ct6 is nice but maybe it's just not my style.
Cadillac exterior is very nice. I can't complain about any of them. The interior could use a little work with the CUE system and implementing a ton of stock features. I own an ATS4 and an IS250(BASE) and Lexus gave me more technology and is not as laggy. Shoot, Pandora works only half the time in the ATS4.
Sebastien F what year is yours? I have a friend with a 2014 and her CUE is terrible compared to my 2017. The graphics are much sharper on the newer one and it responds instantly to everything, at least so far
Justin Mckune I have the 2014 like your friend. I did get to drive the 2017&2018 for a day while getting the car serviced and I did notice it was much more responsive. "Sharper" look as you stated. I believe the difference in CUE performance is that the newer cars let you use your phone to control Pandora vs the CUE system controlling Pandora through your phone. Regardless, I prefer my Cadillac but the girls like the Lexus better.
I wouldn't use the touch screen feature, I'd use the mouse like control by the shifter...keep that screen lookin like new. This is an official "OCD" comment.
I want the ct6 with 4.2TT v8!! Platinum 500hp or the 550hp V! Either or I would be perfectly happy with. I’d even take the 3.0TT but the 2.0t and 3.6 are motors that shouldn’t have ever been an option for that car. Unless the 3.6 was a hybrid with 2 100hp electric motors.
No, it can not compete with the S-Class or the 7 Series, and it should not try to, they should do their own thing for those of us who do not want an S-Class or 7 Series. Can there be improvements, yes and that is fine it is up to buyers to let the company know where it can make improvements to their product as well as the company continually improving their product.
Ca it compete with the S Class? The fact that you asked this question means you haven't seen the latest S Class. I actually prefer the styling of the Cadillac but the interiors get pissed on from a high height by Mercedes.
I feel like this is another E Class and 5 Series competitor with a longer wheelbase. The top end CT6 does not even make as much horsepower as the base model S Class. So even if it is meant to compete, it fails miserably. This Cadillac was most likely launched to have some form of the original type of American luxury that all of us young folks have only ever heard about. We have a massive sedan that we haven had one like since the DTS. However, at least now it is more fair to compare the CT6 to the S Class in contrast to comparing the DTS vs the S Class, but I still feel like comparing a CT6 to an S Class is like comparing a Corolla to a Camry. The Camry is bigger and better, literally in every way, when compared to the Corolla, much like the S Class being bigger and better than the CT6. They just don’t really compare.
You seem to have PURPOSELY ignore the odd angle of the rear screens on the CT6. Why did you not comment on it? It is a matter of honesty or dishonesty.
one of the nicest Cadillac's i've ever seen. Absolutely stunning. I'd take this over a 7series anyday
Cadillac don't need to compete with anyone they have an unique exterior look and interior
I agree! But bmw snobs don’t. My 14 ats 2.0t rwd is better then a 3 series all day long!!

All the Merc and BMW styling is started to get old for me. I like the fresh styling from Caddy.
Styling is always subjective but I agree with you as well. I like the Caddy’s new style.
TomsFruitStand agreed. Mercedes-Benz looks so cheap nowadays since they toned the styling down so much on most of their vehicles

But considering our gas prices are 10 times higher then yours Cadillac would needed some 3 liter biturbo diesel engine for our market. All our german cars Merc, BMW, Audi are borring to see, they are everywhere, Cadillac would be so refreshing to see on our roads.
Do those rear seat screens hinge vertical? It seems like they are at an awkward viewing angle
Yes, the screens can tilt via the remote control
Everyday Reviews whew....I was about to say.
Price wise, it competes with 5-series and E-Class with starting price of ~$65K.
What are the dimensions of that box you tested? Cadillac doesn’t publish trunk dimensions and this is quite critical for many buyers. It would be great to know the width, length and height of the truck including the wider rear area and narrower area behind the rear seats. Thanks
3:25 ‘it’s a touch screen, so you can touch whatever you want here’ 😂😂 duh 🙄
Bill _ So get it lemon lawed! Not hard at all.
Bill _ strange we have a 2009 cats and we changed the transmission at 120k. There was not one piece on metal shaving on the screw.
Good question and I'll have an answer to that in a week. I just picked up the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S560 today.
Everyday Reviews so why pose the question in this video if you can't answer? The question should than be proposed on the Mercedes video
I want to hear what you really dislike and like
Is it quieter and more comfortable than the Lexus ES300h?
With the CT6 going out after 2019, what year is best to buy? Being on a budget keeping in mind.
The 2019 10-speed is supposed to be good one.
Head Honcho Hey, before you try to roast people. WORK ON YOUR ENGLISH! IDIOT!!
Head Honcho Sorry kid, but you are trying too hard
why wouldn't it compare??? i can get the CT6 and a CT-V for what that S class cost. not to mention the cost it takes to even own a S class.
Just saying....
coolguy6233 They aren't the same car. A $54K CT6 is a turbo 4 cylinder for starters...LOL
Great car. Great review.
So I see that most people compare these to the 7 series and S class, but how about the LS500?
Nice car, not sure it’s really an S class competitor though. It’s still notably cheaper. Also not a fan of those back sweet screens. Already looks dated.
mfmf100
Sweet screens?
J High *seat* screens.
mfmf100 That comment wack on several levels
RayJ-HT didn’t think things could still be wack this century.
Agree with this Comment by those screen, It's like jut put it in by no reason. Hello Cadillac Designer!!!!!!
Manual sunshade? ughh
And the pop up rear screen is facing down? why??
But the super cruise, I love it 😍
This is a summer car I never understood why people drive nice cars in the winter
The problem lies in that it is too big for a modern executive luxury car. Any rich buyer who drives a black CT6 will get confused by people as a Chauffeur driving his boss around. It happened to me in Beverly Hills when we rented the previous body style Lexus LS 460.
Trunk fits 3 bodies comfortably
Easily. Haha.
What’s with the chunky snow tires?!?!
Does the screen in the seat adjust? They seem to be at a weird angle
In the long run, hopefully the build quality is respectable. I love my ATS, but you can see where shortcuts were taken and the car is only 5 years old.
Like what? I've worked on these cars since they came out and I drive one to work every day and they have the same build quality as the other cars in their segment
@@utleykyle how did you work since they come out
...interesting so they break new
It's called a pre delivery inspection. It includes installing the last few options for the customer and inspecting for defects. All cars get inspected before they get sold
@@utleykyle ok whatch this and tell me when caddis will get close
Nice car and reasonably priced... Always have owned and been a Cadillac fan but would like to see this car offered with a V8 around 500 hp.... Then you would really have something to compare to the AMG, M5, F Type R, etc...
Were those winter tires?? What brand were they?
Sorry, I don’t remember what brand they were.
I'm a long time Cadillac driver have a '17 now but imo it just don't compete with the S550 and I plan to switch soon.
What model do you have currently?
@@EverydayReviews2022 My wife have a 17 XT5 and I have a 17 CT6. I always drove the larger DTS but idk the ct6 is nice but maybe it's just not my style.
Alot of Nissan Versa and Prius owners on here knock it.
Damn son. When they ask if you can fit a body in the trunk, they don't need the coffin too!!!
What kind of price are the asking for this CT6???
The CT6 sure looks a lot cooler than the S class and 7 Series!
Too bad it didn't sell! That class needs more competition.
I am questioning the single angle of the rear screens. Can it be tilted to suit the the different height of passenger? If not, that's a big fail.
Yes, there is a button on the remote to tilt the screens.
Everyday Reviews ooh ok. Cool then. Thanks
SUPER BUT WILL WE GET THE SUPER DE 31% IF MAD OUTSIDE THE US THIS CAR MIGHT GO TO 75K TO 125K
Damn, you could have floored it a little to see if it fly's.
I wouldn't use the touch screen feature, I'd use the mouse like control by the shifter...keep that screen lookin like new. This is an official "OCD" comment.
The thing is though, if you use Apple CarPlay, it doesn't work with the mouse controller, you have to touch the screen.
I want the ct6 with 4.2TT v8!! Platinum 500hp or the 550hp V! Either or I would be perfectly happy with. I’d even take the 3.0TT but the 2.0t and 3.6 are motors that shouldn’t have ever been an option for that car. Unless the 3.6 was a hybrid with 2 100hp electric motors.
in my country, clean water and electricity is still considered luxury things to own. lucky Americans
My Next ride ;-) Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blue chip cadillac are the best looking car on the road in 2019
You should try and play some music next time so we get the speakers . That's my recommendation
I miss the old wooden steering wheel and shift knobs
Ca it compete with the S Class? The fact that you asked this question means you haven't seen the latest S Class. I actually prefer the styling of the Cadillac but the interiors get pissed on from a high height by Mercedes.
Name of the background song?
Instereating that the V6 has more HP but less torque? Is that accurate? Not sure why they would tune down the torque.
Joseph Belfi the 2 liter engine is turbo charged thus making more low end torque. The 3.6 v6 is naturally aspirated, so makes lower torque.
I missed that. Thought they were all turbo charged. oops.
Joseph Belfi thrre is a turbo charged V6 offered as well just to leep things confusing. There is a turbo 4, NA V6, and turbo V6
I thought the Cadillac CTS was the largest
Not purposely. Just didn’t get to it. I did answer someone’s question about it. The screens are adjustable.
