You really rock, your so much like me. My sister laughs when I do things because of my attention to detail, and how it has to be aesthetically designed. They actually look like they came with the gazebo. Great job with the flowers too.
Thank you. We are so doing this. We had our first rain and without gutters everything got wet. They really should warn people that this would happen. But sounds like not too bad of a job to do. Thanks again.
Great video! I just learned that Yardistry now offers gutter kits if anyone wants to go with an OEM solution. The gutters for the 12x16 won't be available until September '22 so I have a few months to wait.
Thanks! Helped me with doing the same project. I am going to do 2 sides only though. One side is very close to the side of the house where some outdoor sockets are and the other side where a sink and counter will be.
Thanks for posting your Yardistry gazebo installation. I bought a 12 x 12 and the videos inspires to put it together on my own and when ready, have friends to install the roof. I'm no handy man but I've managed to install stuff that requires two people a like basketball court on my own. My only problem is that I have a brick paver patio and require concrete application to anchor the posts.
I didn't know you could! It's one of the reasons I still haven't decided whether to buy the Yardisty... other aluminum frame models have built-in curtain/mosquito net tracks
@@HockeyJock the lack of netting is a concern. I had a gazebo years ago similar to this and it came with mosquito and privacy curtains. The mosquitos netting was a life saver. I don’t know why yardistry doesn’t offer this.
Good job! My wife has been after me to put this gazebo up and your videos sure helped. I would recommend you put the lamps on the inner periphery of the gazebo The lighting will enhance the look and protect the lamps from the rain. We recently got rid of our Garden Winds gazebo because the top continued to fail and the sun did a number on the cloth. So, again, thanks for the tips..
I guess i am lucky, Menards has 16" lengths so I only have to buy 4 lengths, 4 corners, downspout, and hangers. It is still about $200 but the only seams will be the corners which I like. Great Job!!! I do think I will buy the joiners for the corner section connections so that wil be another $30.
This system looks great...not hard to put up. I have grand yardistry gazebo so the drains don't fit flush to support post. Have to cut pipe D but still looks great. Could put support piece behind pipe but I chose the cleaner look with a small bend in pipe .
I bought the pergola at Sam's Club and I'm putting some corrugated roof on there Tuftex sheeting With fence PVC panels over the wood and I plan on screening it in with lattice as well not only for privacy but for protection of the bugs but I want to install rain gutters on my pergola as well this is a good setup
I am off to get gutters today to finish ours off for same reason that without rain spltters inside of coveraed area and we are just to your north in Vangroovy BC, lots a rain coming
So cool. I have one with just a wood strip roof with corrugated plastic and it's screened in. How can I keep the snow and rain out without putting outdoor curtains in there which I can't see out if I closed them up. ( In new Mexico) so not a whole lot of rain, but could get snow.. thanks 🙏
Can you please tell me the size of the gutter. I looked yesterday at Home Depot but the size looked way bigger. Also, did you remove the edge cap on the roof to be able to fit the gutter. Thanks. Your video was great.
The rain gutter is a great idea. We are looking at this Gazebo for out patio project. Thanks for including details. What about birds perching on the edge of the gutters and crapping all over the patio?
Great video. The fascia wood you connected the gutters to had a bolt in the center holding two pieces together. How did you get your gutters to sit flat agains the fascia board?
Thank you for the videos! They were a great asset as we assembled this gazebo. We are preparing to install the gutters and wondered about how much or if you sloped the gutters?
I'm trying to do this exactly. I couldn't find brown aluminum at Home Depot so bought the vinyl but the brackets stick up too far. Hmmm.... I'll have to see if they can special order the brown.
Thank you for posting this! We were wondering if this was possible and it looks like it turned out great without too much cost or difficultly. We will likely be doing the same to ours. It is much closer to the house so I am concerned about water collecting near the foundation.
There are so many types of gutters as per length (4 inch, 5 inch, 6 inch), it would really help few of us if you specify the homedepot link of the products used.
I have watched your videos a few time now on this gazebo, Nice job! My question what is the measurement from the beam to the outside of the gutter? I am building my 12x14 this week and want to make sure I set it far enough from the house.
We are in the process and found your video very helpful. I considered the lip of the roof to be a flashing of sorts. Any reason you didn't slide the hangers up underneath? We have one section done but slid them partially underneath this lip and now that I've noticed you did not, I wonder if we did something wrong, but don't want to take it down. Though it's not yet stained so we may have to anyway.
Thanks and Great job with the videos!! I bought one and find these videos helpful to prepare for the build. Never occurred to me we could add gutters but I love the idea. Will most likely add gutters to our project. I’d like to know about the fireplace you have? We had bought one from Costco but it rusted horribly so we are looking for something better.
Great post. Actually, I am planning to set this in the backyard, where I have interlock. Is it a good idea to bolt them right on the interlock, or to add another base for the pillars to keep them off the floor. thank you.
hahaha I do the same thing when Im at Home depot!!! Ill spend the $200.. but not $206:50 for the joiner brackets!!! it always comes back to bite me and I end up spending it anyway
I know this is a year ago and I’m planning on doing one. Any regrets after a full summer? You still enjoying it? How was the heat with the aluminum roof in hottest part of the summer? Sorry about all the questions. Really excited to do this in my backyard.
Thank you, I was wondering what options I had for this. This big spruce trees in the back look very healthy. What kind are they? In Michigan, by the time they get that large, the branches start dying off from the bottom up.
I'm about to build my second 12x14 Yardistry Gazebo and this one, I do want gutters. Did you see any benefit of angling the gutters toward the down spout?
Hello! Just purchased and my wife is concerned about it blocking all the sun that comes through our sliding back door and windows as she loves the natural light. I know it will impact it some but I think plenty will still come through. The roof is taller than our windows and I about level with our roof of the house. What impact did it make on you guys? The windows look similar and distance etc? Thank you!!!
great video. I got the Pavilion from them and finding everytime it rains, it pools under the pavilion and completely turns me off from wanting to go out when it is raining. Seems all my stuff is dry, but the concrete, so i will try this out
How has your gazebo been holding up over the seasons? I get a lot of sun on my back deck and it destroyed my last gazebo but it was a lot less expensive and it had a material canopy.
Enjoyed your videos. I'm looking at Home Depot online for the parts to add gutters to my gazebo and the colors available are not consistent with the royal brown you listed. The gutters just list as brown and the other pieces list as musket brown. Do you know if they are the same?
I didn't trust the stain they have for protection, so I applied 2 coats of Tung Oil before assembly of the Gazebo to hopefully not have to fuss with it again for a couple years... I'm on Camano Is. north of Seattle - we get about half the rain.... : )
Excellent vdo. I live in Seattle too and planning to add the gutters. Thanks for your very useful vdo. Did you permanently mount the post mount to concrete? If yes, what type of anchor did you use? I was planning to do that but seems concrete anchor is little bit complicated to anchor. Thanks
I have the same gazebo and thought the house gutter be to big but it actually looks good. Thanks great video. Good job.
Thank you for sharing...we were just researching how to stop water off the gazebo!! Helpful!!!
This is super. I have the same gazebo and need to do gutters as the rain drips are wearing out the paver sand. Thanks for the great how-to detail!
Thanks again.
professional looking. Great job
Great job. Just completed it and your instructions are on point. Thank you.
I am about to start putting my 12x14 together. I do plan on adding gutters and this is a really helpful information. Thanks!
Great video! I just learned that Yardistry now offers gutter kits if anyone wants to go with an OEM solution. The gutters for the 12x16 won't be available until September '22 so I have a few months to wait.
I bought them they were garbage and am returning them this week. Nothing fit together, not even close.
Thanks for your Yardistry videos....very helpful! We just had our 12 x 14 delivered yesterday. Just documented my shopping list for the gutter system.
Thanks! Helped me with doing the same project. I am going to do 2 sides only though. One side is very close to the side of the house where some outdoor sockets are and the other side where a sink and counter will be.

This is excellent I was hoping I could find someone with a video about putting up all weather curtains or rain curtains 🙄
If you find one would you mind adding it to this one? Been looking for the same thing.
Mosquito netting is offered as an option
Hopefully will have ours done to add these. Gazebos should actually come with optional rain gutters. Thanks for the video!
Looks professional and great job thanks for sharing!!
Looks great. Best news out of Seattle in 4 years!
Can you put the all the pieces you bought in the link please
It’s cool to see how you enjoyed doing this... thanks for the videos-they are definitely helpful
That yard looks a lot like Woodinville more than Seattle! We are about to put our gazebo up this weekend. You have provided some great tips!
Lowes in my area has the dark brown gutters, white and brown only. Picked them up the other day.
Nice work. Thanks for the tips. Nice yard as well.
Excellent info - Thanks!
Awesome! I have this gazebo AND live in Kirkland. I know what I'll be doing. Thanks!
Great video, thanks. I'll be doing the exact same to my gazebo and shed, but with 3 inch mini gutters as opposed to standard 5" house gutters.
Hope the snow Load won’t rip them off
Awesome Thks just finished my gazebo hrs ago
i love your gazebo good job im waiting for this particular gazibo to go on sale so i can buy one. right now they are somewhere around 1800 dollars.
Nice! Will do similar this week.
Thank you Seattle!
Thanks for sharing the video.
Hey thanks a lot for doing these videos man. Going to be buying one here soon. The gutter idea is great!! Good job!
as a rain gutter contractor, well you know. lol
won't ripe ya, cause I love your train video. lol
This system looks great...not hard to put up. I have grand yardistry gazebo so the drains don't fit flush to support post. Have to cut pipe D but still looks great. Could put support piece behind pipe but I chose the cleaner look with a small bend in pipe .
Forgot to say...this isn't the same system as the video. Get the manufactured vinyl plastic system..
Excellent idea. Thanks for the videos about this gazebo. They were helpful.
I bought the pergola at Sam's Club and I'm putting some corrugated roof on there Tuftex sheeting

My gazebo is all metal no wood. Trying to figure how to it. On my deck run down in door frame causing rotting wood. Yours look great
Can you please tell me the size of the gutter.
Nice! I'm going to do this in the spring
Great video. The fascia wood you connected the gutters to had a bolt in the center holding two pieces together. How did you get your gutters to sit flat agains the fascia board?
Did you purchase your gutters from Home Depot or Menards ? It’s looks great
This was great! Thank you for the tips.
Thank you for the videos! They were a great asset as we assembled this gazebo.
We are preparing to install the gutters and wondered about how much or if you sloped the gutters?
I LOVE the fireplace! Can you tell me where you purchased it?
Great video. One question. Noticed a fireplace underneath ur gazebo. Not a problem with the chimney pointing towards the roof?
I live in Mount Vernon..just put up 10 x 12 Yardistry Gazebo. What size are your gutters? 5" ? Thanks for posting video.
Cheaper to buy from home depot? Costco also sells them. Any advice?
I'm trying to do this exactly. I couldn't find brown aluminum at Home Depot so bought the vinyl but the brackets stick up too far. Hmmm.... I'll have to see if they can special order the brown.
Can you measure from ground to the lip or top of gutters. I’m trying to see if will fit under the eave of my house. My eave is exactly 8’6”.
Thank you for posting this! We were wondering if this was possible and it looks like it turned out great without too much cost or difficultly. We will likely be doing the same to ours. It is much closer to the house so I am concerned about water collecting near the foundation.
What did you use for waterproof curtains wouldn’t the wind just take the rain into the gazebo? Appreciate the video, amazing job.

Thanks for sharing the video! One quick question, is it ok to use vinyl gutter instead of galvanized? Thanks
Building mine tomorrow, so doing this
Wow building mine now great idea definitely doing that!!!
Great video series. Hows it holding up, still happy with your purchase?
Great post. Actually, I am planning to set this in the backyard, where I have interlock. Is it a good idea to bolt them right on the interlock, or to add another base for the pillars to keep them off the floor. thank you.
Nice job!
Have a link to that fireplace?
hahaha I do the same thing when Im at Home depot!!! Ill spend the $200.. but not $206:50 for the joiner brackets!!! it always comes back to bite me and I end up spending it anyway
I just bought the same one and live in the Seattle area.Thank you for posting this! Big question, how did it work??
Mine has worked great.
I know this is a year ago and I’m planning on doing one. Any regrets after a full summer? You still enjoying it? How was the heat with the aluminum roof in hottest part of the summer? Sorry about all the questions. Really excited to do this in my backyard.
You attached the troughs and han gers directly to the fascia boards?
I was just thinking how this would look, great.
Awesome trees.
Is this us or candian dollar?
Thank you, I was wondering what options I had for this. This big spruce trees in the back look very healthy. What kind are they? In Michigan, by the time they get that large, the branches start dying off from the bottom up.

Chris curious about this as well.
Never mind, was answered below.
A few inches of rain gutters, are the four sides connected together?
May I know what is the color of gutter? Royal brown or musket brown?
Hello! Just purchased and my wife is concerned about it blocking all the sun that comes through our sliding back door and windows as she loves the natural light. I don't think you have enough bulb lights in that Gazebo. You need more to land an airplane :o).
Did you did any stain or sealer on the wood?
Hi there just wondering are you supposed to seal the wood thanks nice work by the way!
great video. I got the Pavilion from them and finding everytime it rains, it pools under the pavilion and completely turns me off from wanting to go out when it is raining. Seems all my stuff is dry, but the concrete, so i will try this out
What model is the fire place? Where did you buy it
Just finished my Costco gazebo yesterday. Now that it IS raining/rainy, is there anything you would do differently with your gutters?
Great job
I would like see how you connect the corners. Or is there actual corner pieces?
he used 4 angle pieces of gutter. see info in the description..
Seriously who gave you a thumb down???
Great job 👍👍👍👍👍
Hi there, what size gutter did u find it appropriate 5’ or 6’? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am planning on installing them as well.
How has your gazebo been holding up over the seasons?
I get a lot of sun on my back deck and it destroyed my last gazebo but it was a lot less expensive and it had a material canopy.
I've had mine up for two full years now... It's fantastic
Enjoyed your videos. I'm looking at Home Depot online for the parts to add gutters to my gazebo and the colors available are not consistent with the royal brown you listed. The gutters just list as brown and the other pieces list as musket brown. Do you know if they are the same?
What did you end up buying? Would be great if you have a parts list.
Very nice!! Love the shelter also. Are you happy with it ?
Would you recommend staining this if it gets a lot of sun exposure? Do you think it would fade to a gray because it's cedar?
I didn't trust the stain they have for protection, so I applied 2 coats of Tung Oil before assembly of the Gazebo to hopefully not have to fuss with it again for a couple years... I'm on Camano Is. north of Seattle - we get about half the rain.... : )
Hey man u got a parts list? Like what screws you used and what not?
Do the gutters need to be on a slope?
I slight slope is most effective.
What size rain gutter did you find is appropriate? 5" or 6"
'
Did you add gutter guards to your gutter....if so, how did you attach them
Can you please show me steps by steps like do I the corners first Thanks
What product did you use to waterproof wood per manufacturer recommendations?
Have you put a polyurethane protectant? Do you think it's needed?
Excellent vdo. I live in Seattle too and planning to add the gutters. Thanks for your very useful vdo. Did you permanently mount the post mount to concrete? If yes, what type of anchor did you use? I was planning to do that but seems concrete anchor is little bit complicated to anchor. Thanks
My Pt. 4 video deals with the anchors. They were pretty easy actually.
Thank you for your prompt response. Will try that.
Did you angle the gutters slightly during installing them for better drainage reasons?
Yes, you want a slight slope.
