  • Backyard make over! Here we install a beautiful paver patio and build a Gazebo. Along side of the patio we put down large 24" x 24" stepping stone pavers. We use Techo Bloc Blu 60 HD2 smooth pavers and the customer provided the Gazebo from Lowes.

    Looks great! Beautiful pavers. I love it -- all flat, no steps anywhere. The older I get, the more I appreciate no steps. 😊

    Sean, loved the video and the pattern. I'm not one to be a safety fairy.. but damn, if that Stihl slipped, you would be down one employee 😅. I know it's cutting down... Be safe my man!

    Thanks Sean, very nice job! I’ve done 4 patios and it’s always an education in getting things level and then with the proper drainage slope. I do like the pattern…in my neighbourhood I see people using it in driveways.
    It looks good but not thrilled with the colour as any oil drips will show up over time and look grubby. I can’t imagine the care which you have to take with the gazebo… if there is one little scratch in a piece of metal, I know people would demand replacement. All this and probably pretty hot and humid conditions. Thanks!

      Thank you, The customer chose the pattern out of the catalog. It's called a "linear pattern" it's suppose to have a more modern look.

    i like the pattern but I'm not a fan of cross joints, would of preferred if all vertical lines were broken but that's just my preference

    Nice patio and gazebo. You guys did a real nice job. The paver layout is nice, but I do perfer the 3 piece layout. It sounded like the gazebo was made out of metal? Just wondering what that would sound like in the rain.

    • @srmcontracting
      @srmcontracting  Месяц назад

      Thanks, yes it's metal. It won't be too loud though since there aren't any walls to echo the sound.

    My only hold up is the edging. With the open grade base, the spikes don’t really have anything to hold on to. We switched to concrete edging. Roughly the same price but much better for the open grade

    Patio looked great! Not a fan of the metal gazebo. Do you always you plastic edging or do you use concrete at all?

    How much did it cost you? and did you consider concrete or stamped concrete? I am currently considering pros and cons

    So, at least one of those posts are only anchored by possibly 2 bolts to the footer?? Not quite to hurricane code where live.

    At the beginning of pulling back the dirt, a hole was uncovered with an orange plastic pipe. Did that pipe get buried because it's an old, unused water pipe?

  • @Austin1990
    @Austin1990 Месяц назад

    Are those pillars code for such a gazebo? That gazebo looks like it would rip to shreds at a lift force an order of magnitude or two less than the pullout force those footers are for.

    • @srmcontracting
      @srmcontracting  Месяц назад +1

      All footings need to be below the frost line to meet code. But yes they are overkill for this Gazebo

    • @Austin1990
      @Austin1990 Месяц назад

      @@srmcontracting Oh, that makes sense. You have to make them that big to get below the frost line. That makes sense. The frost line in my area isn't very deep.
