    I'm currently wearing BluShark Alpha and Zuludiver straps. Top quality materials, finishing, hardware. You can't go wrong with either of them. I'd give the Alpha an edge; thicker and it has a sheen to the webbing. Very nice.

    Good video. I think you’ve missed something with the Zuludiver where you say there is too much gap with the larger hardware. You should find that you can push it up so that it kind of locks in place. It almost eliminates the gap and aids the aesthetic because the zuludiver stamp is more visible. Give it a try!

    My Omega NATO has a sliding keeper with that sheen high end seat belt finish, but at $180.00 dollars you have to be crazy like me to buy one. I have a Luminox NATO Zulu and it has no finishing. The strap has become discolored and gross stains that will not wash out. The sheen finished is worth the extra money for sure.

    Having bought Gekota stuff before I'm very impressed with their quality at least for their leather. Something to keep in mind is thinner nylon isn't necessarily a bad thing - it all comes down to quality. Cheap nylon is still cheap nylon no matter how thick. Also love a good bulky G10/Nato/Zulu buckle because you have to push the remnant strap back through the two ends, have one thats really a struggle to do that and its just infuriating and wrecks the strap

    One of the main reason to use a NATO strap is retention of the watch if a springbar breaks. Yet some of the straps in your review appear to use a springbar in the buckle, giving a single point of failure if that springbar breaks. You should have indicated which straps have pinless buckles, that's the key feature of a NATO.

    • @scottmorrison147

    I received my Moose Strap yesterday and was really disappointed. I
    bought a 20mm that's more like a 21mm so it has to buckle at the sides
    to sit between the lugs. It's so thick you have to remove the spring
    bars to get it in. It's also too thick to fold over and in, you can only
    fold it over and out which makes it enormous on the wrist, and the
    holes are so far apart it's either too tight or too loose. This is a
    horribly impractical strap. Still waiting on an email reply regarding
    his returns policy. Easily the most disappointing NATO strap I've ever
    bought.

    I like Haveston straps but feel they are short, I think you should have threw in a Toxicnatos strap!!

    • @AverageBros
      @AverageBros  7 лет назад

      The Haveston's are shorter by design, so I'm okay with it, they've made the appropriate design tweaks to make the shorter length work for larger wrists. ToxicNATO hardware look great but with shorter length and lack of a sliding keeper, wouldn't work for me.

    • @terrywilliams2289
      @terrywilliams2289 6 лет назад

      ToxicNATOs come in 290mm, so what do you mean shorter length?

    • @alfredsfunvideos4270
      @alfredsfunvideos4270 6 лет назад

      I agree, Toxicnatos length is usually really good. The sliding keeper is a nice thing but the Toxicnato straps are soft and very sturdy! Terry is correct though on length.

    • @AverageBros
      @AverageBros  6 лет назад

      I prefer full 12" NATO's when equipped with fixed keepers, 290mm is short of 12" believe it or not, that 1/2" makes a different when trying to tuck in the access, especially when you don't have a sliding keeper to dial it in.

    • @terrywilliams2289
      @terrywilliams2289 6 лет назад

      Of course it is. 12 inches is 304mm.
      But the WatchGecko/BluShark are all to small for you if the straps need to be 12" to fit. And they looked like they fit perfectly when you tucked in the access.

    Some helpful hints that will make your videos better. I like your videos but:
    A. Too much talking. You're repeating yourself way too much.
    B. Stop apologizing for dirt and smudges. Unless you put on gloves it's gonna happen.
    C. Either get a better auto-focus camera or keep your hands farther away so the camera can focus. It's maddening.
    Hope this help. Good luck.

  • @kylestewart4444

    I think that traditional natos these days are pointless. Single pass beats nato in every conceivable way as far as I’m concerned. I’ve converted all of my premium nato straps to single pass straps by cutting off the unnecessary bit. It just works a lot better for me.
    There’s no useless second layer of nylon underneath the watch, effectively making it thicker. Also, you get virtually limitless adjustability allowing you to move the watch head further down the length of the strap and control exactly where the buckle sits on your wrist.
    Finally, I’m just really not a fan of the nato look. I don’t think it looks good to have metal keepers poking out from either side of your watch strap and I really dislike the look of the tail folded back through the keepers. I like premium nylon but I tend to trim them down to the length I need and then cut off the lower strip and keeper. Then it’s perfect for me. No extra material at all and a really clean look.
