  • Very often I am asked which brand I can truly suggest for NATO straps and so, after testing a few over the summer, I can say that these are my favourites from Moose Straps Co. with excellent build quality, feel and pricing. May I also emphasise that I have not been paid in any way for the review of these straps and I see no profits from thee use of my discount code. I have also arranged a 10% discount code on their straps: Armand10%

    Thank you for the info. I have just placed order for 3 of their thinner 1.2mm compared to the thicker 1.4mm thick straps.

      Are the ends made to tuck into the keeper like a standard NATO? I have a 7" wrist and most companies don't work for me. Seems to me most people are content with their NATO end not folding over and tucking back into the keeper

    Ordering a couple after seeing your review. They do remind me of my Omega Nato. Thanks for the info!

    I like that Moose has flatter, seemingly lower in height keepers & buckles - much nicer than typical round nato strap keepers that tend to stick out too far.

    I must give pause and raise a brow whenever I hear the word "luxury" used to describe a NATO strap... Bravo to any company that can extract those sorts of profit margins though!

    Great review Armand I love the NATO strap although when I bought my omega seamaster 300 I did get my NATO strap for free but omega wanted 120 pounds for it essentially kind regards terry

    CAUTION: As of September 2022 I think that this company is out of business. I'm in the next city over from their HO. Their website is still up and they are taking money and they will give you an automated email order confirmation. But there is nothing on the other end of the phone (if at all you can find it - Montreal, Canada). They do not reply to emails. Great product doesn't make a difference. I got my bank to reverse the charges under fraud, but I'd reach out to them first and see how you go. Good Luck all!

      What a shame. Ordered the Reef Nato strap from this company a few years ago. Great strap. Very comfortable. Oh well almost every strap says outta stock on there website. That's a good clue they are outta business. Good luck hunting tor a nice strap.

      @@MrIndustrial70 At least you got one. But check out the Riggerband Hawkrigger Calypso. It's the best of a parachute strap but with a great buckle that allows for a quick attachment, my only niggle I have for the usual "NDC" strap. Best thing is that you can order for wrist size! Man, I sound like a sales guy.

    Hello, Armand,
    Have you had a chance to try out the Phenomenato Straps so far? In my opinion, they're far superior to any other brand of natos, except for the Omega ones.
    Cheers.

    straps too long?? I have an 8 inch wrist and I've found most are not long enough, unless they are about 30cm. I cannot get that nice "fold" at the end of the strap because they're too short! Why are all you watch people so little?

    • @johnkennedy9078
      @johnkennedy9078 2 года назад

      This is EXACTLY my problem and irritates the $hit out of me so many people are content with having their strap end "not tuck" back into the keeper. I regret spending so much money with Blushark. Fortunately I ordered from 3 different companies this week. My main watches are Breitling Superocean 44, Seamaster, and Sinn 104. Also my wrist is only 7 1/4"...WTH
      Can you confirm if the Moose companies "thicker" NATOs will tuck back into the keeper for you?

    Armand......do you have any suggestions on who makes high quality NATO style leather straps? For custom straps, I found The Strap Smith, I believe he is based in Montana. He makes amazing distressed leather straps from WW2 leather ammo bags. Cool as heck. Of course he makes custom shark, vintage canvass, and ostrich leg straps. I've purchased several straps from The Strap Smith. They are a bit pricy, but not bad when I have his straps securing watches that are $7-$12 grand.

    Direct competitor to Blushark as noted, wondering which as a more British Khaki; MSC seems more green than tan as a fellow Brit we all know BK is more earthy than green so wondering if Blushark is a better choice for BK strap. Decent review but clearly while service at both MSC and BS are equal strap quality damned near the same it comes down to price point and MSC wins by some margin at $20 versus $32 for an Alpha (apples to apples) so a 412 variance 60% increase is substantial discounts are not included. MSC clear winner.

    • @Basman59
      @Basman59 6 лет назад

      Having worn both my Blushark Alpha for 6 months and MSC strap for about 4 months on and off the MSC strap is considerably more comfortable the quality and how it is holding up is outstanding. I have worn both intermittently and no other You cannot go wrong I just wish the MSC so called British Khaki was that and not an olive drab and so I emailed them and they acknowledged this was an issue and several people had contacted. Last point the hardware is of the highest quality like the stitching.

      I've bought around$450 in Blushark straps and regret every penny. At the time I didn't know other companies were out there making higher quality straps for the price. My main issue is I have a 7" wrist and most of their straps don't allow me to tuck the end of the strap back into the keeper...it really irritates the F out of me TBH, mostly bc most people are content with not tucking the end back into the keeper. I don't have this problem with Omega or Breitling NATOs - and honestly Blushark's quality lacks too, so I wrote them off.
      I just ordered from 3 different companies this week in hopes I get the size and tuck I'm looking for.

    Sorry, but standard buckle on a NATO negates the functionality and whole purpose of the NATO. That little springbar in the buckle is now the weakest link & only thing keeping the watch from falling to the pavements or the deep.

    • @jamesshives5679
      @jamesshives5679 6 лет назад

      Jake Jones Were not the originals like that too? Perhaps an oversight in design, but with high quality steel, it shouldnt be an issue. Nothing is perfect, there is no strap out there that eliminates every possible way your watch can fall off.
      Edit: Oh, I'm sorry you said springbar. For some reason I thought you were talking about the little tongue of the buckle. Nevermind then. Still, I certainly wouldn't be any less confident wearing a nato. You can sit around all day worrying about what *could* happen, but at the end of the day, does it matter? How common is it for that springbar to fail? Probably less so than the springbars on the watch itself. I wouldn't stress about something like that, but I do see your point.

    • @jakejones6056
      @jakejones6056 6 лет назад

      The "originals" did not employ a springbar anywhere. There are lots out there that don't. Sure, the springbar probably won't break if it's high quality but why take that chance and create a "weakest link" type setup?
