I talked to Michael at Tactacam customer support. According to him, if you buy a unit in the UK it should have an appropriate sim card with it that you can activate. USA phone number: (218) 282-5650 0r support@tactacam.com
Ok so do you know how to do a remote format of your SD card? My card is almost full and I want to do a full remote wipe. Yes I know about the overwrite mode but that takes more time between pictures and eats up more power. I just want to be able to remote wipe like the other wireless cameras I have. I would appreciate any help.
@wayneclaude8942 Thanks for the reply Wayn but I know about that function. My post above explained that. I'm trying to avoid the overwrite oldest option. It eats more power from the batteries each time a picture is taken and saved. It also takes more time for the camera process to cycle through start to finish and it can cause cameras to miss pictures. Thanks again for the response and Merry Christmas.
@@reconrc1787 if you go to your camera in the app, there is a "FORMAT CAMERA STORAGE" option. Never used it myself, but I would assume this would do what you're expecting it to.

Especially about being able to use the camera without a cellular subscription... no where in my instructions does it say that is possible. I like the camera, but the instructions are remarkably not informative.
Is it possible to turn the camera on and/or off remotely? Would be great to turn it off remotely when the random squirrel is playing in view of the camera. :-).
I agree, it would be a great feature, but I could not find a way to do it remotely. Doesn't seem to be possible via the app. Always had to manually turn it off and on.
If you were having the issue, you could alter your settings so that there was more delay in between photos. It would take up to a day to update, though.
you can use the camera menu to select/adjust video settings. As long as pic + video is enabled, it should record as soon as it senses motion. Without app, you need to retrieve/read SD card to see what it recorded.
There's other cameras out there $50 cheaper with the black flash...Tactacam was good when they first come on the scene but when I have to pay for HD photos it's literally just another way for them to make money....the camera was taking great photos until they added the concept ...in my opinion I'm going a different route next season
Completely understand. For my use, I couldn’t see much difference between regular resolution and HD pics. But I’ll use the camera again because I don’t want to have to learn the ins and outs of a different one.

Format your card and that will erase everything
Or set SD to Loop so when full it drops the oldest pic to store the new one.

i agree i hate the windy days getting hundreds of pics took for no reason i tried the sensitivity level but no help there

When you use port to download the video to another sd card, does it get the video from the camera card also? Does it do it quickly?
Sorry. Have never actually used that function. I just understand that it is possible. Instead I have two SD cards and switch them from time to time.

Hello if I don't want cellular fee or an account Can, I still download photos to my phone and Live videos?
It will still record WITHOUT a cell plan, but you must retrieve media card and attach to a viewer to view/download files.

@@SHredWorld I should have stayed I forgot the code so I can't access the menu. This cam doesn't come with a reset button.

Depends on chip. Media needs to match camera requirements.

No, this is a cellular camera only.
The documentation for this camera leaves a lot to be desired.
