      Yeah, I saw that routing through the head tube on the specialized epic and maybe one other bike. Maybe a Scott bike. In any case, I think it’s ridiculous. Just let the cables run along the front of the bike. There’s nothing weird or problematic about that…

    I had the 2017 Yeti ASRc Beti version, single pivot with 100 rear/ 120 front. I'm not a serious racer, but it served me well racing some of the Epic Rides events and for True Grit, plus it was fun for general xc/ trail riding! Only reason I sold it was I wanted to move to 29" wheels and the small I had they only made in 27.5. Nice to see Yeti coming back with a bike like this again.

Mine weigh 1,165 grams including the rim tape and valve stems. That might be one of the lightest wheel sets they’ve ever built. Mine have the DT Swiss 180 hubs. Yeah, you’re not wrong. I sort of regret not mentioning that the IBIS Exie, which is an incredible cross country bike with still very good trail manners, is 25% off right now. Like you, I would have a hard time passing that bike up for this ASR at full price. That said, anyone who is in love with the brand Yeti should be very excited about this new ASR!

      Haha did I say that…😆 I think what I was trying to say is if you wanted a lightweight cross-country bike in the past, but you’re brand loyal or just prefer Yeti, here’s your chance to ride what many other brands have been making for sometime now. A single pivot, lightweight cross-country bike.🤘

      @@mtbyumyum You said that too but what I mostly heard was how other brands do specific things better. If you want a racer get a different brand. If you want a light weight trail all MT fun bike get a different brand.... unless you have to have the Yeti logo.

      Maybe... a big part of purchasing a mountain bike that I probably don't spend enough time talking about is fit... for me, Ibis has been up to this point a very good fit for my body size and/or riding preference.

      The Specialized looks better, and relinquished of the switch infinity… I’d rather buy the pivot, that bike’s design is still “different” and “boutique” it hasn’t sold its soul to the flex pivot trend.

      To be fair, the bike is a lot of fun and really pretty light weight. With regard to the 2019 rocky.... it may look the same but trust me, a 70 degree hta Element is much different than the 66.5 on this ASR

    • @samd6405
      @samd6405 3 месяца назад

      Not sure what you were expecting from Yeti. It’s an updated ASR from 2015…modern geo, lightweight single pivot design like most others. Looks wise…they all look very similar. Will be curious to hear all the subtle differences between each brand. I think yeti said it before, there’s only so much that can be done with single pivot/flex stays. If you’re racing XC, buy the one you like at the best deal. Plus, at least they didn’t bother with routing through the headset. 🙄
