Great cover of this song! Bob Segers' version was about his life on the road, touring from town to town being gone for so long. Great song. You should hear the live version off his live album. Amazing!
Having grown up on Metallica, going back and listening to Mercyful Fate's "Melissa" is amazing. It's like discovering an entire album that you've never heard but already love.
I totally agree that you can’t compare the 2 versions because they’re both great and done completely different. By the way the woman in the video is Ginger Lynn. She was probably the biggest adult film stars in the 80s.
Me too. I've never heard this cover or seen this video. I love the cover, but the video is so sad. You know this situation has been replayed over and over and over. Some mothers regret their choices and change their life. Other mothers don't seem to notice or care that how they live their life deeply affects their children too.
Since everyone is all like “now check this out-now check that out”, I’ve got one for you. An 80s classic by Tears For Fears called Shout. Then the cover by Disturbed. It’s quite lovely😂
when i started to listen to metallica they had all their albums out and I grew up on it without knowing whats "good" and "bad" metallica, I listened to it all and loved it and i think you will too, just listen to load reload and all the new stuff, its always great music
I've heard this thousands of times and I still get chills! Metallica has been my favorite band since 1991. Check out "No Leaf Clover" and "Whiskey In The Jar".
If you like the way Metallica sound here you should definitely check out the stuff from their Load and Reload albums. Most of the songs sound like this, except they're not cover versions. As for the lady at the start, she's called Ginger Lynn and she was a famous p*rn star back in the day.
Yeah I always think this is from one of the Load/ReLoad albums but it's obviously from Garage Inc since it's a cover. I know a lot of people look down on the Load/ReLoad albums but that's mostly because they changed the sound and people wanted more of the same, which is fair. But they're honestly perhaps my favorite Metallica albums
Hey big guy, sorry I haven’t reacted to your reactions in awhile. But losing your phone, in a lake, after jet skiing all day, sucks! Lol. But I’ll be catching up. Getting used to new phone!! Love this remake!! Never thought this could be done THIS WELL!! Rock on!!
I just know MB is gonna love this. Bob Seger is a master songwriter and Metallica did his song justice with a different spin on it. Like chocolate and peanut butter together, can't go wrong (unless you have a nut allergy...)
I totally agree. You get too wrapped up in the story of the video. You want to see what happens, especially to the kid. Definitely distracts your mind from the great cover version of the song that Metallica offers. I get why they wanted to make a video too edgy for MTV, but I think they did themselves a disservice being too busy saying "F**K YOU!" to the mainstream of the music industry. Much better just listening to this awesome cover and ignoring the video. 🤘🏼
Originally song was about the band touring! The video is a porn star from the ‘90’s, that has to make a living traveling to different gentleman’s clubs around the country!!🤘🔥
Understood, but they recorded the song before shooting a video. The song still has the same meaning but of course if you watch the video it can take on a different meaning, but music always means different things to different people no matter what it means to the artist.
Bro you gotta do ‘Astronomy’ their cover of Blue Oyster Cult. It is PHENOMENAL. Even better than this track. It will literally create an erruption of goosebumps!
I had this record on the day it came out, listened to it over and over all day. Saw them live on that tour, front row. They were still fucking amazing back then. This is an incredible cover. Others from that covers album are also amazing - Sabbra Cadabra (Black Sabbath), Astronomy (Blue Oyster Cult), Whiskey In The Jar (Thin Lizzy) and the Mercyful Fate Medley.
OMG YES!!!!! I'm so psyched that you're finally checking this out. Edited to add: Look, just cut through all the BS and do all the original versions of the songs on Garage Inc, then do Metallica's cover. Two Birds,One Stone AND you get MORE METALLICA! 🤘Rock on ,Kelly 🤘
This is off the album “Garage Inc” that came out in 1998. The first disc is all ‘new’ covers recorded during the same session; the second disc is a compilation of cover they did over the years; the whole thing is amazing; I recommend doing a full album reaction to the first disc, so much variety.
I loooooove doing this song for karaoke/ guitar hero/band whatever, I love to sing this song, cuz it means really something to me,.. being a former entertainer myself, ahhh yeaeaeaaaaahh
Jon English was about trying to make it as a musician. His song "Hollywood Seven" is a classic IMO..."you can dream your dreams for seven bucks a night." Then there's Billy Squier "The Stroke" about the music producers finding talent, stroking their ego, etc. Real songs, real lyrics, real meanings
When this song first came out, I learned to hate it......the song was in HEAVY rotation on the radio and was just simply overplayed. Now, it has become a favorite of mine due to this track right here. I love the substitution of guitars for the saxophone. A genius move. Another one off this album is Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Tuesday's Gone". Awesome cover. I never, ever expected to hear harmonica on a Metallica track. Once again, great vid, sir.
You’re right. This is one of the best covers EVER! I may be biased because I’m a Metallica fan also, but I just feel it brought together a generation of music fans and if you’re a Bob Seger fan, you love this version. If you’re a Metallica fan, you love the original so much that Metallica created another generation of this song. It lives long my friend !
Now you should check out Thin Lizzy's cover of Whiskey in the Jar and then Metallica's cover of Thin Lizzy's cover.
Totally agree.
I agree as well.
You covered that well.
Hell YES!!!! The entire Garage Inc. album is fucking fantastic!!!
YESSSSS!!!!!
Now we need a reaction to No Leaf Clover, Live with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. One of my favorite Metallica songs of all time.
Damn skippy..
I agree.
'Call of Cthulhu'
Either the Official Video or Live from the S&M concert.
I still get goosebumps every time I hear that song!
The S&M album is one of my favorites, and I love them all.
As a father with an 8 year old daughter and a 20 year old daughter, this video chokes me up everytime. I tear up for that little girl.
Their cover of Tuesday's Gone is mind blowing as well. Metallica has a long history of fantastic covers.
Best collab cover ever
Great cover of this song! Bob Segers' version was about his life on the road, touring from town to town being gone for so long. Great song. You should hear the live version off his live album. Amazing!
I've always been a fan of their cover of Thin Lizzy's 'Whiskey In The Jar'. Those would be good to try.
@Molly Boy listen to Metallica's Nothing Else Matters.
My favorite Metallica cover was actually Merciful Fate. Super good. The song never ends and it's amazing.
This is the first time I’ve seen this Metallica video though I’ve always loved their cover of Turn The Page. I’m a little shook…🤘
Me too. I've never heard this cover or seen this video. I love the cover, but the video is so sad. You know this situation has been replayed over and over and over. Some mothers regret their choices and change their life. Other mothers don't seem to notice or care that how they live their life deeply affects their children too.
Listen to Astronomy from the same album, a cover from Blue Oyster Cult.. It's an album of covers.
Love their version of Tuesday’s Gone
Came to say this. 😊
Astronomy is the one. Brilliant cover
It would be cool to watch his reaction for the whole Garage Inc album
Since everyone is all like “now check this out-now check that out”, I’ve got one for you. An 80s classic by Tears For Fears called Shout. Then the cover by Disturbed. It’s quite lovely😂
And Phil Collin’s land of confusion and then their version!
when i started to listen to metallica they had all their albums out and I grew up on it without knowing whats "good" and "bad" metallica, I listened to it all and loved it and i think you will too, just listen to load reload and all the new stuff, its always great music
Goosebumps all over my body.. this is so f.....g hard.. Metallica rules ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💚 🇸🇪
The way Kirk (I think) mimic's the sax with his guitar in the opening gets me every time.
This is a great cover of an even greater song!!!!
That is one hard hitting video!! But it’s life for lots of women!! Wow that was awesome
@@carlgibson285 MB should absolutely react to "BLeeding Me" and "Outlaw Torn."
Load and Reload have really grown on me over the years. I rejected them when they first came out but can appreciate them now.
@@haxan6663 I've never understood that hate for those albums, I dug em
Bleeding Me is a must listen
So much more satisfying when someone knows the original
Yess!! Definitely
This is one of my favourite Metallica songs regardless of it being a cover.
The garage inc album from Metallica has some great covers on it..i actually prefer Metallica's version to the original from Seiger.
I was eagerly waiting for this video and I wasn't disappointed. I knew you would love it
Their version and the video represent a grittier reality
Love both versions. Amazing song but my favourite cover by Metallica is “Helpless”.
🔥🤘🏽🔥
The entire $5.98 EP was incredible!
@@steves.6519 absolutely! Loved the raw production and their energy. Even though Cliff was gone, they actually sounded like they were having fun.
Rock on!!
One of my favorite Metallica songs and definitely my favorite Bob Seger song. In fact the whole Garage, Inc. album is awesome!
It is a great album. I bought the original vinyl and they made it even better when they extended it for cd.
One of my favorite covers ever. Another great cover is Rocky Mountain way by God Smack.
Hits you right in the “feels” don’t it? Gets me every time.
you are so right!!! both versions are perfection for different reasons! 🔥🔥
Stone Cold Crazy by Queen and Metallica. Queen is so diverse they may be the first heavy metal band also!!
YES!!!!!!^^^
Musically, I love both versions about the same. However, Metallica's music video is a masterpiece.
Oh mate, loved this video. I was blown away by this when I heard it the first time. 26 years later, it's still amazing!
I just know MB is gonna love this. Bob Seger is a master songwriter and Metallica did his song justice with a different spin on it. Like chocolate and peanut butter together, can't go wrong (unless you have a nut allergy...)
Peanut and chocolate perfect , reeeces only good thing ever to come out of the US
@@gerryrafferty7500 ha ha I think you're selling my country short but hey we agree on PB and chocolate :-)
One of my favorite covers ever! Another great one is Metallica’s Tuesday’s Gone🤘🏾
Love love love James Hetfield’s voice ❣️❣️❣️❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I remember how much heat Metallica got when they released this clip... it's real and raw
Thanks for doing my request!!!!!!
by far my favorite cover of any song.
That whole album fuckin rocks, best james vocal deliveries, shown his maturity, this one, astronomy, mercyful fate, loverman, damn all bangers
Yep-bangers!! Definitely need to check them all out
James voice is awesome. This is one of my faves.
This is an outstanding homage to Bob. Masterpiece. Always enjoyed the song by Metallica. Thinking the video detracts from it.
I totally agree. You get too wrapped up in the story of the video. You want to see what happens, especially to the kid. Definitely distracts your mind from the great cover version of the song that Metallica offers. Metallica is the master of covers. So many!
They just made it better!!
I wish I could like this 1000 times!
It's about time you got to this! Thanks! 😊
You aren’t being biased mate, Metallica are masters at doing covers, testament to their genius
Yes two different stories .....classic....I loved this
Bad ass cover!! Metallica anyday!!♥️🤘❤️🔥
Mandatory Metallica weekly 🔥🤘🏽🔥
James is such a big unit he makes his guitar look like a ukulele 😂
I think this cover is one of the best songs in Metallica’s body of work 🔥
*Another great cover is "Simple Man" by 'Shinedown'. I really hope you check it out. You'll love it!* 🤘
I second that amazing cover
Originally song was about the band touring! The video is a porn star from the ‘90’s, that has to make a living traveling to different gentleman’s clubs around the country!!🤘🔥
Understood, but they recorded the song before shooting a video. The song still has the same meaning but of course if you watch the video it can take on a different meaning, but music always means different things to different people no matter what it means to the artist.
Ginger Lynn, who stars in this video, is an actual famous porn star from the 80-90s.
Both discs of garage inc. are 👌
Possibly Metallica’s most underrated album.
I really enjoy his musical journey, it reminds me when I was his age.
Love this song!! While the original by Bob will always be my fav, this cover by Metallica is one of the best ever. Great reaction!! 😊
This is one of their best songs IMO
So excellent. Moving.
I'm turning into a sceleton here, waiting for you to react to Metallica - Bleeding me.
You NEED to react to Confusion or Now That We’re Dead by Metallica
I love Metallica and, being a native of Michigan, I've loved Bob Seger my entire life... the melding of the two is epic!
This whole album is incredible
I just watched the live performance from the Stern show. Great stuff
Totally agree it's a kick-ass cover of an already awesome song.
Ginger Lynn in this video. Adult actress in the 80 -90s
Congratulations to 75K! ❤️💛 💚 🇸🇪
Thank you!

They kill it on most of there covers. Garage Days Re-revisited is a double album of all covers by them and has some great tunes.
The Garage Inc album is one of my favorite Metallica albums. Some of the best covers from my favorite band.
Fantastic cover...you could truly take a whole season of the year doing Metallica covers...they are GREAT not good
perfect react, bruv...just perfect.
🔥🤘🏽🔥
You are gonna love this. !!!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍Thank you for this great cover !!!!!
🎸💯 That was an amazing cover & a most disturbing video, too! Metallica truly made "Turn the Page" their own! I believe Seger would approve! ☮️❤️🎶
Would absolutely love it if you did Cochise from Audioslave ❤
This is off the album “Garage Inc” that came out in 1998. The first disc is all ‘new’ covers recorded during the same session; the second disc is a compilation of cover they did over the years; the whole thing is amazing; I recommend doing a full album reaction to the first disc, so much variety.
I like James's voice that's partly why they're my favorite band.
Love this song.
Bleeding Me and Halo on Fire are my Metallica requests! Years apart but same badass energy.
Budgie - Breadfan
And then MetallicA's 1989 live version
the whole second disc is full of bangers. Breadfan, Small Hours, Crash course, Last caress..
OH HELLS YES!!!
I loooooove doing this song for karaoke/ guitar hero/band whatever, I love to sing this song, cuz it means really something to me,.. being a former entertainer myself, ahhh yeaeaeaaaaahh
metallica has pulled off some absolutely phenomenal covers. the entire album "garage inc." is cover songs. i love it.
My favorite reactor! Love your videos!
You need to do more tracks from this album... almost all of them. Definitely the Merciful Fate medley, Sabbra Cadabra, Astronomy.
You could do the whole, Garage Inc album, and also react to the original songs as you go.
Metallica do amazing covers.
I vote we have Metallica Mondays. At least one Metallica song every Monday. Can I get a thumbs up for those who agree.
Fuck yeahhh!!! "THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!!" Same words I said the first time I listened to this amazing song back in 90 🤘🏼🎶
Jon English was about trying to make it as a musician. His song "Hollywood Seven" is a classic IMO..."you can dream your dreams for seven bucks a night." Then there's Billy Squier "The Stroke" about the music producers finding talent, stroking their ego, etc.
Real songs, real lyrics, real meanings
I´m glad you beginning to dive in to the Garage inc. album. Next, "Am I Evil" please. It is awesome!
Fantastic. I commented on the seger version that you should do this, so its great to see and im excited.
This video breaks my heart every time!
I’m so much love this song❤
They killed this!! Love it!! ✌❤
When this song first came out, I learned to hate it......the song was in HEAVY rotation on the radio and was just simply overplayed.

One of the best covers ever. It's so much better vs the original, but it's a great song performed by both artists.
I've not heard this version before, little brother. Damn thats rather good.
I know its not Metallicas song but its one of my all time favourites!!
Metallica's covers are top-tier! ❤
You’re right. This is one of the best covers EVER!
