When you do a cover of a legendary song you have to do it justice and that they sure did.
The whole "Garage Inc" album is made of covers. I would recommend "Astronomy" from it and, of course, "Loverman" (but I guess Dominika has already heard it 'cause it's Nick Cave's cover).

Metallica did what Nightwish did with High Hopes they made it their own no way to pick a favorite one for me they are both awesome in their own right!

This is such a great cover. The video is from a short film "Turn the Page" (1999) starring Ginger Lynn, and it fits so well with the song.
Nah it's an okay version and the sleazy video with the porno actress playing a stripper does the song a injustice.
The Bob Seger original with always be #1 for me, but Metallica did such a fantastic job with this cover! They amped up the heaviness (to 11), but still kept the feel of Seger's. The video correlation from the touring musician original to an exotic dancer's/lady of the night life is brilliant!! The stuggles of both lives are very real (not exactly the same, but real)
Metallica did other amazing covers on their Garage Inc. album - Astronomy (Blue Oyster Cult), Sabra Cadabra (with National Acrobat excerpt) (Black Sabbath), Whiskey In The Jar (Thin Lizzy, orig. traditional) are all excellent!!

At the risk of just sounding like an old man (I'm getting there), just like to say that I so appreciate Bob Seger's ability to write lyrics that allow your imagination to visualize the difficulties in the life of a working entertainer (specifically a band) rather than Metallica's asking you to watch the graphic struggles of a woman working in the stripper/prostitution world! But, as you say with Metallica's music.... it's Metallica, and it's a great tribute to Bob Seger! Always enjoy your reactions, and like you I have made many discoveries of fantastic music that I would not have otherwise found thru reaction videos! Cheers to you both!🤘

Hetfield went through a lot of traumatized stuff when he was younger so the translation into this (and a lot of other songs as well) went into it with the anger and emotions with it. It took a long time, but i think he's in a better head space now in current times. Appreciate you guys 💞

I have never seen the video before. It has a completely different meaning than Bob’s. They did a great job. I don’t hear them as the same song at all anymore.

The whole album Garage Inc. are covers, all songs are great but this ob=ne is by far the best, IMO better than the original

I love the cover but the video just kills me every time(( I first saw it when I was at school and couldn't forget it since.
The song is about being on the road in a band, but Metallica put a different story in the video.

The video... is darkly interesting... but... nada to do with the tune. Which kinda distracts from truly powerful cover, happening.

Sorry, but never been a fan of heavy metal. This singer seems full of anger, while Seger is just more emotional and telling a story.
