Hi ladies, I first heard the Bob Seeger song a long time ago, my best friend introduced me to Bob Seeger and his music. When I heard Metallica’s version I was very impressed. This is the first time I saw this video, wow very sad, so heartbreaking, felt so sorry for the mom and especially the little girl. As far as the song is concerned I think Metallica did a very good job with it. The album this came off of Garage Songs, was a great album of Metallica doing covers of a lot of different older rock songs, one other one for you ladies to check out is Blue Öyster Cult’s Astronomy, Metallica does another great cover of it. Brian, we haven’t done the original by S & G, but we did do the one by Disturbed about 10 or 11 months ago and it was absolutely phenomenal. David’s voice was incredible. Mams ... This is really one of the saddest videos out there. It was back in the 80s but still. Iam from germany and prostitution is legal here. It is registered and there is a union and every girl/boy gets health insurance and is treated like every other working person (that is not really true unfortunatly) but health insurance, paying their taxes and really just can rely on anything and if its free eduation and free daycare for a child... You are never alone

I had no idea this was a cover. The minute I heard it on Two Retro Grannies I recognized it! I think I prefer the Metallica version, but maybe because I wore out that CD when was young. Not this video though, it was hard to watch. On a personal note, the break from traffic bc of COVID is officially over. Literally 100,000 people decided to relocate to the Austin area this last year and not a single one of them know how to drive, apparently. Trying to think "What Would the Grannies Do" I am now trying to say a prayer for that driver who just tried to hit my car ( everyday occurence now). You can't be mad and pray for another's well being. I figure driving like that, they need prayers ( not middle fingers). Hugs ladies, thanks for living a good example!

In America cops can legally have sex with a sex worker than arrest them AFTER. Once they are “in custody “ it’s a no no but right before the courts have ruled it is a “legitimate investigative tactic “. It’s absolutely appalling. Now with the federal funding for sex trafficking they have had numerous incidents where a single cop made up an entire “sex trafficking organization “ that even the judge said was complete BS. But if they dangle money over their heads and the only way to get that money is through proving there is a sex trafficking organization but if you can’t find one… what do you do? Make it up. They even arrested a woman for trafficking herself for screening clients. All taking advantage of the ones they are there to “so called help”.

It may not be the original subject for the video as Bob Seger’s is a much different scenario, but it is another prospective to what the song could mean. I do love Metallica. They are the biggest rock band in the world. But as far as I am concerned, absolutely NOBODY sings Turn The Page better than Bob Seger
So heavy hearted seeing how this desperate truth is out there continuously. Precious girls being treated nothing more than animals, often drugged up and getting next to no money for what they're forced to endure while the real animals get away with it time and again. And yes, I've spent time with girls trapped in this lifestyles. Depicted here is a comparatively easy with the freedom to move on. But when I was in the Philippines, where I spent several days with these girls, they couldn't move on, they were enslaved, and were given food, water and cocaine for their "services". When they became to expensive to fund, they went missing. The thing is, these girls are all song young, and nowhere near any family, relatives, or friends. The oldest one we spoke with was 23. But she looked more like 33. There was me and 2 other people sharing the gospel, 2 Texans were with me, just by being there, we could have pit 12 girls and our selves in danger. This was in 2013, when we went there to feed he hungry, clothe the naked take a little cheer to those in prison, and preach in about 8 or 9 churches. One of which was on a city landfill site. We all 3 had our live transforms in that month. Needless to say, we away from the tourist areas, and off the beaten track. So on the whole, I would go with this video dedicated to the the Sons of anarchy. This one is painful to see. How many of realize that although slavery is strictly illegal all over the world, it is a bigger money maker now than at any other time in history. There are an estimated (wait for it) 27,000,000 trapped in slavery, and a vast number of which are children. Hit's where it hurts don't it.
Graham Nash…..you are a wonderful person. Hopefully, by sharing your experiences, you can enlighten more people to the plight of these women. I have mixed feelings about this song. Part of me is angry, Metallica would take the Cover shortcut. That route is usually reserved for less talented bands. Not superstars like Metallica. On the other hand, *the song came out so good.*
Come on. Lots and lots of big name artists and bands have done covers, even cover albums. There's absolutely no shame in that. I mean, Aerosmith did it, Johnny Cash did it multiple times, Status Quo did it, Rolling Stones did it, Elvis did it...

Early on many of the songs they played were covers, and they released the $5.98 EP in 1987, which was all covers. So I don't know where you're coming from.

Granny Jeff here... those are two GREAT suggestions, Jeff! So good, it's like you read our minds. We recorded both of these songs last weekend, haha. Funeral Derangements will be up Monday (as long as it doesn't get blocked). Im from Detroit, where Bob is from and must admit that I didn't like this cover at all. But after awhile I started to like it, and now I really like it.

I love this version as much as the original,but I've never seen the video,I thought it would've been a behind the scenes,black and white type video,but not this.7 out of 10 from me.

It may not be the original subject for the video as Bob Seger’s is a much different scenario, but it is another prospective to what the song could mean. So heavy hearted seeing how this desperate truth is out there continuously. Precious girls being treated nothing more than animals, often drugged up and getting next to no money for what they're forced to endure while the real animals get away with it time and again. And yes, I've spent time with girls trapped in this lifestyles. Depicted here is a comparatively easy with the freedom to move on. But when I was in the Philippines, where I spent several days with these girls, they couldn't move on, they were enslaved, and were given food, water and cocaine for their "services". When they became to expensive to fund, they went missing. The thing is, these girls are all song young, and nowhere near any family, relatives, or friends. The oldest one we spoke with was 23. But she looked more like 33. There was me and 2 other people sharing the gospel, 2 Texans were with me, just by being there, we could have pit 12 girls and our selves in danger. This was in 2013, when we went there to feed he hungry, clothe the naked take a little cheer to those in prison, and preach in about 8 or 9 churches. One of which was on a city landfill site. We all 3 had our live transforms in that month. Needless to say, we away from the tourist areas, and off the beaten track.
So on the whole, I would go with this video dedicated to the the Sons of anarchy. This one is painful to see. How many of realize that although slavery is strictly illegal all over the world, it is a bigger money maker now than at any other time in history. There are an estimated (wait for it) 27,000,000 trapped in slavery, and a vast number of which are children. Hit's where it hurts don't it.
Graham Nash…..you are a wonderful person. Hopefully, by sharing your experiences, you can enlighten more people to the plight of these women. I have mixed feelings about this song. Part of me is angry, Metallica would take the Cover shortcut. That route is usually reserved for less talented bands. Not superstars like Metallica.

Come on. Lots and lots of big name artists and bands have done covers, even cover albums. There's absolutely no shame in that. I mean, Aerosmith did it, Johnny Cash did it multiple times, Status Quo did it, Rolling Stones did it, Elvis did it...

@@robbob5302 Metallica relied from the very beginning very much on covers, they never shied away from it, rather than being rather proud of their influences. Early on many of the songs they played were covers, and they released the $5.98 EP in 1987, which was all covers. So I don't know where you're coming from.
