Before he passed away we would jam Metallica together in his cabin when I was little and those are memories I will hold dear and cherrish forever. Metallica you are a treasure to me and my family.
nah, theyve been spent for some time now, this song is from their 1998 homage album Garage inc, so they didnt write any of it, as much as I love this version the original is much better and has meaning, judging by the vid they didnt even get the meaning of the song. They should have stayed in the 80s to mid 90s.
Josh Gore...My favorite reply to those who say Metallica sold out...yes they did! They sold out every show, every seat, every time! Captured my ears, my heart, my metal heart since first hearing Fade To Black way back in 1987!!! Yes I'm that old! Seen them 3 times, Tallahassee, FL, Orlando, FL and Jacksonville, FL. Kirk Hammett is a Guitar God! :)
This is my first time hearing this version, Another Soldier introduced me to Turn the Page by Bob Seger. I was going through Boot Camp in Fort Sill Oaklahoma July 1982, that song helped me to focus on surviving the punishment we went through and it made us into some bad ass Soldiers! Bob Seger is a Legend
I cant ever watch the whole video... as a mom it breaks my heart. The harsh part of this video is the child, not what the mom goes through, I think. Love Metallica, their videos tend to deliver reality. This one is dark... too real as well.
madrom Maybe watch again. This woman is doing things she doesn’t want to do but she does it for her baby girl. She doesn’t do it for pleasure. It is dark but it is our life
Oh I completely agree with you. Is just that as a mom, I think of my son before I think of myself. In the work I do, I know the kind of things that women in that kind of world have to go through. I respect them very much, by choice or not, is not an easy world, especially when you do it by force, as last resource, and to support a family. Still, I cant never watch the video whole.
I did it striped I made 1000 dollars she was safe it hurts to have to do that not only my daughter my mom my dad needed me and guess what I did what I had to do never went full naked
Stuff with Metallica songs, you hear their mental progress through the albums. As they grew up, wrote different lyrics. Much resprect, i grew up on them.
This video is so complex. It’s raw emotion, dark, and captures so many feelings of single parent doing the daily grind to provide for their kids at any cost to themselves. An exceptional piece of music artistry

As western music is illegal in Iran, in 1998, I smuggled Garage inc double cassette album in a loose tea box from Dubai to Shiraz, Iran. I was 20 years old fanatic Metallica fan. Deprived from buying their albums or going to their concerts in my country. I had a Sony Sport Walkman. Used to hide it in my jacket sleeve and hide the headphones under my wooly hat. Walking up and down Street, listening to my heros. I swear that was the only album playing in my Walkman until two years later that I immigrated to the UK and went to 3 live shows, including the one that lars missed and joe played the drums. Metallica you were my ultimate teenage years heros. I salute you. I drink this half bottle of tequila listening to you. Memory remains
This song reminds me of a party I went to, there were people I don't usually hang out with, so I walked away from the house where I was and found a girl on the sidewalk listening to this music and Drinking, so I went to her and asked to sit next to her, so we talked a lot and there that Saturday night I kissed my late wife, Letícia know that wherever you are I love you❤️🤘

I used to listen to this song on the drives to see my hookup the next city over, I always loved being on the road even when the purpose was less than comforting. Reminds me of being 15-16 and riding my dirt bike to my friends house listening to Metallica and black dahlia murder. Both of those days are long gone but every time I hit the end of this song it's like a flash back of 15-20 and every single moment I was on the road I never felt alone but never without purpose, even without a destination in mind I knew exactly what I was doing and where I was going. Miss that feeling.
+Bring me Peter pan Call me crazy but I think age is just a number and that nothing stops you from having one of these days again...I mean what stops you from getting your bike and hit the road for a day just? I look at this liek NiN's "Hurt." Like Trent, Bob Segar wrote it, and did it, and it was awesome. But then Johnny Cash came along, and it just fit him and his life, and even Reznor said "Its not my song anymore." I hate Metallica, but this song is the jam.

+mariangela vasileiou Guess you missed the part where she said she wouldn't change her life. She has no goal to better herself and get a future for her or her daughter.
+toomanyaccounts When times are tough and you don't know how to change it, you try to convince yourself that it's what you want to stave off the terrible things like depression and despair. The really sad part is that quite a few actually do convince themselves, embracing the lie, and becoming unable to change. Did you honestly believe such a broken voice? That she truly enjoyed the life she was in? That she could raise her child properly? That she could be what society wanted of her if she desired? I know those eyes, I've seen them in the mirror. I know that voice, I've heard it from my own lips. When you're trapped by circumstance or fate, you have to change. But having something to lose makes that change very difficult indeed. I'm one of the lucky ones. I changed. I hope everyone else who goes through a similar Hell manages to change and escape.
+mariangela vasileiou Of course then there are people who actually enjoy jobs in the adult entertainment industry. (mostly in feature length porn movies, but still) So your moral high horse isn't necessarily wanted.
On a long and lonesome highway, east of Omaha You can listen to the engines moanin' out his one old song Think about the woman or the girl you knew the night before But your thoughts will soon be wanderin', the way they always do When you're ridin' sixteen hours and there's nothin' much to do And you don't feel much like ridin', you wish the trip was through Here I am, on the road again, here I am, up on the stage Here I go, playin' star again, there I go, turn the page So you walk into this restaurant, all strung out from the road And you feel the eyes upon you, as you're shakin' off the cold You pretend it doesn't bother you, but you just want to explode (yeah, oh) Most times you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can All the same old cliché's, "is it woman, or is it man" And you always seem outnumbered, you don't dare make your stand Make your stand Ah, here I am, on the road again, here I am, up on the stage Here I go, playin' star again, there I go, turn the page Whoa, hey Out there in the spotlight, you're a million miles away Every ounce of energy, you try and give away As the sweat pours out your body, like the music that you play Later in the evenin', as you lie awake in bed With the echoes of the amplifiers, ringin' in your head You smoke the day's last cigarette, rememberin' what she said What she said Oh, here I am, on the road again, here I am, up on that stage Here I go, playin' star again, there I go, turn the page Here I go, turn that page Here I go, there I go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, I'm a rock and roll god Here I go Here I go Here I go, oh whoa Here I go

I live in an area of Nebraksa east of Omaha Where you can hear the rumbling of trucks from outside your window late at night. My dad was a trucker.

This is one of the most powerful videos on the internet.

What a cover

As western music is illegal in Iran, in 1998, I smuggled Garage inc double cassette album in a loose tea box from Dubai to Shiraz, Iran. I was 20 years old fanatic Metallica fan. Deprived from buying their albums or going to their concerts in my country. I had a Sony Sport Walkman. Used to hide it in my jacket sleeve and hide the headphones under my wooly hat.
Walking up and down Street, listening to my heros. It's not a cover- - it's a completely different song, a new dimension, a novel Universe. One and only - Metallica.
Just because it has the same s***** sound that Metallica is known for it's a cover.

How many mothers have this life.. to raise a child and do this kind of job. They deserve a better future! A better life!
+mariangela vasileiou
Guess you missed the part where she said she wouldn't change her life. She has no goal to better herself and get a future for her or her daughter.
+toomanyaccounts I am not telling ya generally about her but for all these kind of mothers. Got it??

On a long and lonesome highway, east of Omaha
You can listen to the engines moanin' out his one old song
Think about the woman or the girl you knew the night before
But your thoughts will soon be wanderin', the way they always do
When you're ridin' sixteen hours and there's nothin' much to do
And you don't feel much like ridin', you wish the trip was through
Here I am, on the road again, here I am, up on the stage
Here I go, playin' star again, there I go, turn the page
So you walk into this restaurant, all strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you, as you're shakin' off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you, but you just want to explode (yeah, oh)
Most times you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can
All the same old cliché's, "is it woman, or is it man"
And you always seem outnumbered, you don't dare make your stand
Make your stand
Ah, here I am, on the road again, here I am, up on the stage
Here I go, playin' star again, there I go, turn the page
Whoa, hey
Out there in the spotlight, you're a million miles away
Every ounce of energy, you try and give away
As the sweat pours out your body, like the music that you play
Later in the evenin', as you lie awake in bed
With the echoes of the amplifiers, ringin' in your head
You smoke the day's last cigarette, rememberin' what she said
What she said
Oh, here I am, on the road again, here I am, up on that stage
Here I go, playin' star again, there I go, turn the page
Here I go, turn that page
Here I go, there I go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, I'm a rock and roll god
Here I go
Here I go
Here I go, oh whoa
Here I go
