This video is devastating. Makes me cry every time! Even the edited video was only shown after midnight on MTV back in the day. The role of the stripper is portrayed by Ginger Lynn, a former porn star. Their album Garage Inc. is an album of covers by them. They also do a killer cover of Whiskey In The Jar by Thin Lizzy.
I'll never forget MTV2 playing this video, _uncensored_ , around '98. They had a "Most Controversial Videos" special on regular MTV and then followed it up with a block of the videos uncut on MTV2. You saw Ginger Lynn's p* spread eagle, you saw the h* injection in Prodigy "Smack My B* Up", you saw everything! I still have a VHS of it.
The actress / woman being featured in this video was a popular porn star from the 1980's named Ginger Lynn. I think they purposely chose her for the video as a sort of social commentary on how the industry commoditizes women and then discards them as they age. It's a devil's bargain - money and fame for selling your soul. She does a good job of playing a troubled and pained woman in the video because i suspect in real life - she lived this type of tough a life. Thanks for your reaction - i always enjoy them.
Worked at a strip club off and on for a decade doing everything from bartending to dancing and when I was waitressing the club used to have porn stars come and do features. That was when things were changing drastically and fast because of free content online (2008-2009). You could tell a lot had seen better days and they were constantly on the road doing features for $2000-$4000 plus tips. One (forget the name) had literally just had a baby 3 weeks before. Horrible that she even had to be in that situation to begin with.
I am definitely not one for cover songs, love the originals, thats why i love the song! But this one here!!!! Knocked it outta of the park 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Love the traveling dancer back drop story. Beautiful version of Bob's song....❤
This Metallica version got the original song closer to the newer generations. They decided to record it because they felt very close to the story Bob Seger tells in his lyrics, as they felt it could have easily been a song telling the Metallica story on the endless road, playing rock shows almost every night around the world. Thanks for doing this one, guys!!
Nothing wrong with covers. A piece of music is not set in stone and should lend itself to creativity by others. Metallica smashes out of the park in this. But they always do.
Accidents And brain farts happen to us all. They are shooting a video and don't want to interrupt the moment by googling everyone's name. I appreciate that they are who they are and their genuine reactions. We are all human.💪☺️
My favorite cover is Disturbed's version of "The Sound of Silence". You have reacted to the band Disturbed before. And, of course, you did the Simon and Garfunkel version. And like this song, Disturbed's cover starts off slow, but gets very hard. By the end, the lead singer holds the final note like Adele.
Surprised more comments don't mention this. They would of knew this already if they saw the napster shit. James and Lars are the two big names from the band, they all good but through the band itself and Lars going after napster, it really drove those two names in peoples heads.

This is not only a great cover, but it always hits me a little more emotionally because it reminds me how the Original bass player and band leader Cliff Burton died in a tour bus accident while they were supporting Ozzy in Europe. Cliff was so amazing and also eerie is that he and Randy Rhodes were both really into musical theory and different things they could do musically and both died way too young. One of those wow, what turn would music have taken if they were both alive today. Throw in Andy Wood from Mother Love Bone into that scenario. Do Bob Seager Still the same and Mother Love Bone's Chloe Dancer Crown of Thorns (use the video where they mixed eddie and andy singing lead)
I don’t know if you have heard the song, Land of Confusion. Original by Genesis with Phil Collins singing, cover done by Disturbed. One of my favorite covers
It's really cool when you do Metallica but it's odd that you've done this many songs from them and have yet to do 2 of their best, or anyone's best for that matter: Master of Puppets and Fade to Black.
I agree 100%. As well as Orion and Disposable Heroes. Orion should be right up their alley, and Disposable is a classic that would introduce them into the faster side of Metallica that they have not touched yet. And, MOP is a really good stepping stone toward that end.
@@JagangelaLook at all the other bands they've reacted to. How many of them haven't had their consensus best songs reacted to within the first or second video? Van Halen - You Really Got Me
Love the reaction. Metallica does a great job with this one. Please do Master of Puppets next. Definitely one you need to listen too. It's a lyrical and musical masterpiece. You definitely won't be disappointed. Keep up with your good work.
The woman is Porn Star Ginger Lynn
The video totally ruins the song to be honest. There's nothing going on in the video that is representative of the lyrics. Very strange choice.
It is representative. Aging adult film stars would actually go on tours stripping around the country. That's what's happening here. "Ginger" on tour and "on the stage", with daughter in tow.
Another all-time great cover is Eton John's cover of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" ( a Beatles song).
It's absolute perfection.
It absolutely is...!
Jay open your eyes. You missed the darkest part of the video and had no idea what happened to the mother in the last minute of the video.
ikr? What a dumb "reaction" video.
The actress in video is Ginger Lynn
