For the Arcane VGU, it coming after Season 2 means it could be for a champ from Season 2. There's a high chance for Orianna to show up and she could definitely use the VGU. There's also room for Blitzcrank possibly and he DESPERATELY needs at least a visual update.

But he's obviously going to become the full "Machine Herald" in Season 2 so the design there will probably be closer to his League design and could then work as an Arcane skin instead. I just feel like Blitz or Ori need the VGU more. They both REALLY need the visual updates and their gameplay could use the tweaks as well.

Visuals are one thing, LoR already made changes to some champions, but Viktor's voicelines are such a relic that they don't fit neither the lore version nor the Arcane version.
If we are not getting Sevika from Arcane i don't think she will be around for many seasons, she definitely was the most likely to become one. Mel's mother is insane tho and i want to see how Riot actually integrates her into the Lore, since Arcane happens in the past but as a champion she should be alive in the present. Also, she has to appear older in league.
Actually, I think Silco was the most anticipated to be incorporated into League. He could be a cool strategist who synergizes well with Renata or something.

That is the first and last dev video that made me finally uninstall league. No chance I'm letting spyware into my PC. Even though there were little news regarding vanguard, it's stays what it is. A spyware. Not to mention Skinspotlights is gonna lose his job now. And no more custom skins like maps or qol changes. If not for that, I would just never run league again. They killed my favourite champion and whole universe with him.
I really hope Viktor isn't the vgu. I like his lore as it is now and I hope arcane catches up to him as he is in LoL and LoR. My vote for the vgu is blitzcrank. As Singed does his wicked science things. Jayce and Viktor should be making blitzcrank
As a Viktor OTP for MORE THAN 10 YEARS. I REALLY want that visual update, but I do not want a gameplay update. Unfortunately, I think it will be him that will get the VGU.
Just remember - don't get overly excited based on the concept art, because it will likely be "refined" even further until they end up with another Generic Hot Girl™ ^^' remember the original Kai'Sa concepts? I'm still hopeful especially since Karlach in BG3 has been a huge success that may give their marketing team some more confidence to actually pull the trigger, but it's best to wait until she's fully revealed!

To me it seemed obvious, I mean in the same video they announced an arcane VGU they also showed the Singed and WW teaser and I think he actually makes the most sense, given that the shape of the Vander Warwick is so much chonkier and hulk-like than the one we are used to. I think after making Skarner chonky they have a taste for it haha.

Correct me if im wrong but from my understanding of the vanguard anti cheat. Since it is kernel level 0 it will ALWAYS be on as long as your computer is on, even if you are not playing the game, so it can cause problems for some people. The only way to remove it is to uninstall all games that run it.

It's not even about privacy with me, as it's more about how they were literally hacked last year and how dangerous it would be if they got hacked again, but this time - they had access to all our PC's on KERNEL level. That hacker would have access to ALL our PCs and can do WHATEVER they want with them.

There are ways around vanguard, a lot of them. Idk if the sacrifice is worth it. Hopefully they add workarounds, like tools for content creators in the testing mode, a way to make it not chug older systems, or other fixes to get ahead of the problems that come with this choice.
The ridiculous thing about the VGU voting is that Shyvana always scored high on those votes, not high enough to win first but usually high enough to be second. Even the graph that you showed shows that she was in second place. As a Shyvana main I'm finally glad that she's getting the much deserved VGU but I'm also hoping that they stick to the core concept of what they promised her to be: An auto attack bruiser.

The introduction of vanguard is actually very scary to me because my valorant account got hardware banned for some 3rd party software. Wich im not sure wich. I had blitz wich should be compatible but nothingelse. They wouldnt tell me wich programm was the problem and would let me explain or reason with them. The decision to ban my account from some software was final. Im afraid they will take my league account too, wich i had for a long time...

An idea crossed my mind when Necrit tells us that mastery icon is kinda like Pantheon shield. That probably wouldn't be there, but themed icons would be cool. Like Targon related have that shield, void something purple-ish and, well, voidy, Shadowisles something undead green themed and that. Maybe like a separate skins for mastery icons or just for champion origin maybe. Malzahar gets void icon, Azir some Shurima stuff and that. I would love that
They specifically chose targon because they think it is a nice paralel between the effort and "climb" of people in the game and the effort to climb mount targon. Themed icons would be cool tho

I actually have a theory that the casual game mode is basically Mario Party with league, you pick your champ, roll dice to go around a board, and play "minigames" that usually involve free-for-alls or team matches with bonus rules. At least, that's what i really HOPE it is ;)
People should be on the barricades because of Vanguard! This kind of privacy intrusion should not be tolerated and by no means be declared as a sacrifice for the greater good. Riot should not be applauded for fixing their game if they make it unplayable in the same patch by forcing users to install rootkit malware.

I think the Arcane VGU will be Vi to be honest, she's such a popular character and most of her kit is outdated, hell even if Wild Rift they moved about parts of her kit and her current base design just doesnt fit the new canon universe. For Shyvana i desperately hope its design C/the third design because my god does she look powerful, feral but contained. The middle design looks more suited for the boneclaw shyvana skin/primal version. Either way im super excited. ALSO PLEASE GIVE US SEVIKA AS A CHAMPION TOO

@voilavoila196 I am perfectly OK with them changing his abilities completely. It is the crystal theme I cared about. His lore was fine, assuming they actually let him do something. He hates people who are accidentally killing his people for resources. That hasn't changed, really. He just has a group of humans he controls now. Which they could have added in the old lore. So they didn't need to change his history or theme to give him something to do.
6:14 it’s most likely Warwick. Even from the teaser you can tell he looks very different than in game, and his entire personality and character might be totally different in Arcane.
They've already given Warwick a VGU in the past and he's doing well as he is so I doubt they update him. I think ignoring Viktor or Singed it is more possible that Heimer gets the VGU, or even Orianna depending if she has a role in season 2
I hope they lean more toward A for Shyvana's VGU. Or at the very least a combination of A and C, Shyvana should be more muscular but C by itself feels too different from the Shyvana we know.
A is just a generic sexy dragon lady. C has way more unique identity and makes sense for a physically powerful half dragon. A would just be another supermodel design walking the rift

i literally cannot play with vanguard. to use vanguard you have to turn on secure boot, and to do that i have to turn off a setting in my bios. however when turning that setting off my pc literally will not send any visual signal through hdmi. them adding vanguard will literally make it impossible for me to play
It's sad to see ppl calling this the biggest update in leagues history despite just a couple of years ago having just as big (if not bigger) announcments but just for the year instead of announcing things for 1 or 2 years in advance.
Tbh i think they were forced by these bad years to show something. I still think it’s better to have surprises but they were kinda obligated to show those things now.
It's more that they restaffed the team from the lean years of 2021-2022 when a lot of riot employees left because of the COVID shuffle and/or migrated to TFT/Valorant/MMO/Insert any other internal project. During those times, they had a much reduced headcount working on league so it really didn't make sense to have a roadmap because it would look dire as fuck. Someone finally woke up and realized LoL is still their main cash cow and it shouldn't really be in a position where certain LoL teams were running on fumes or straight up not really existing anymore(like the gamemodes team, prior to reforming it). Bi-yearly or yearly roadmaps only are good if you've got the content pipeline to back it up and the playerbase takes one look at it and says "I'm excited for this and W". TL;DR GaaS needs a lot of manpower to make them work, never let your team reduce in size in any significant way, because that's going to come and bite you in the ass at some point.

my hope on the arcane update is vi she hasnt aged quite as well as she should have with the mobility creep in league her q is too telegraphed her ult cant lock down a target shes good against immobile targets but cant stick to anyone else id love to see her q combine with her ult so when she charges and hits someone the ult animation plays and the target is grounded for a little bit its such a telegraphed ability it should feel relativly strong to land it
You do know that her ult is the entire reason she was pick/ban in pro play for well over a year because it was the most reliable way to lock down high mobility champs, right?
Imagine a Mario-style party game with Arcane locations and themes, where u can use your league characters/skins. So like "Chem-tech Ball!" almost soccer like, "Hextech Control Point", etc. Plus your champion might impact you do better in some rounds than others. Like races for mobility, or last man standing.
"We are kinda done after that" Well. Thats assuming they dont do anything with Renata, Camille, Ezreal, Orianna, Blitzcrank, Mundo, Twitch, Urgot, Zac or Zeri. In which case, I did want to mention another idea for who could be the mystery vgu. If Orianna is being rewritten into being Singed's Daughter, they would have to change some aspects to her. Her design is also fairly dated for a Piltover champion. They would also have to move her down to Zaun instead, in which her overall design should reflect more of that region as well. And they could also end up giving her a new skin based on whatever happens in arcane. like if theres a pre robotic version of her that works. Her current animations wouldnt support that well. They also obviously want to keep that a secret until its finally revealed. be it in arcane or in a promotional trailer. So it would stay a mystery for now. Given if they even are going the route of Orianna in Arcane

I kinda wish they made the champion mastery a prestige system, where if u reached a certain mastery rank you can prestige and start again, but then instead of having Mastery 11 you have Prestige I Mastery 1. I know it's random but I just feel like the unlimited champion mastery will get a bit stale eventually, the prestige system would create another layer of illusion for the player that theyre actually progressing

Correct me if im wrong but from my understanding of the vanguard anti cheat. Since it is kernel level 0 it will ALWAYS be on as long as your computer is on, even if you are not playing the game, so it can cause problems for some people. The only way to remove it is to uninstall all games that run it.

It's not even about privacy with me, as it's more about how they were literally hacked last year and how dangerous it would be if they got hacked again, but this time - they had access to all our PC's on KERNEL level. That hacker would have access to ALL our PCs and can do WHATEVER they want with them.

There are ways around vanguard, a lot of them. Idk if the sacrifice is worth it. Hopefully they add workarounds, like tools for content creators in the testing mode, a way to make it not chug older systems, or other fixes to get ahead of the problems that come with this choice.
The ridiculous thing about the VGU voting is that Shyvana always scored high on those votes, not high enough to win first but usually high enough to be second. Even the graph that you showed shows that she was in second place. As a Shyvana main I'm finally glad that she's getting the much deserved VGU but I'm also hoping that they stick to the core concept of what they promised her to be: An auto attack bruiser.

The introduction of vanguard is actually very scary to me because my valorant account got hardware banned for some 3rd party software. Wich im not sure wich. I had blitz wich should be compatible but nothingelse. They wouldnt tell me wich programm was the problem and would let me explain or reason with them. The decision to ban my account from some software was final.

An idea crossed my mind when Necrit tells us that mastery icon is kinda like Pantheon shield. That probably wouldn't be there, but themed icons would be cool. Like Targon related have that shield, void something purple-ish and, well, voidy, Shadowisles something undead green themed and that. Maybe like a separate skins for mastery icons or just for champion origin maybe. Malzahar gets void icon, Azir some Shurima stuff and that. I would love that

I used to play skarner. I only did that because I though his crystal design was fascinating.
To me taking away the crystals and completely changing his story just didn't make sense.

It is the crystal theme I cared about. His lore was fine, assuming they actually let him do something. He hates people who are accidentally killing his people for resources. That hasn't changed, really. He just has a group of humans he controls now. Which they could have added in the old lore.
So they didn't need to change his history or theme to give him something to do.

i literally cannot play with vanguard. to use vanguard you have to turn on secure boot, and to do that i have to turn off a setting in my bios. however when turning that setting off my pc literally will not send any visual signal through hdmi. them adding vanguard will literally make it impossible for me to play

Tbh i think they were forced by these bad years to show something. I still think it’s better to have surprises but they were kinda obligated to show those things now.
It's more that they restaffed the team from the lean years of 2021-2022 when a lot of riot employees left because of the COVID shuffle and/or migrated to TFT/Valorant/MMO/Insert any other internal project.
During those times, they had a much reduced headcount working on league so it really didn't make sense to have a roadmap because it would look dire as fuck.
Someone finally woke up and realized LoL is still their main cash cow and it shouldn't really be in a position where certain LoL teams were running on fumes or straight up not really existing anymore(like the gamemodes team, prior to reforming it).
Bi-yearly or yearly roadmaps only are good if you've got the content pipeline to back it up and the playerbase takes one look at it and says "I'm excited for this and W".
TL;DR GaaS needs a lot of manpower to make them work, never let your team reduce in size in any significant way, because that's going to come and bite you in the ass at some point.

my hope on the arcane update is vi she hasnt aged quite as well as she should have with the mobility creep in league her q is too telegraphed her ult cant lock down a target shes good against immobile targets but cant stick to anyone else id love to see her q combine with her ult so when she charges and hits someone the ult animation plays and the target is grounded for a little bit its such a telegraphed ability it should feel relativly strong to land it
You do know that her ult is the entire reason she was pick/ban in pro play for well over a year because it was the most reliable way to lock down high mobility champs, right?

Imagine a Mario-style party game with Arcane locations and themes, where u can use your league characters/skins. So like "Chem-tech Ball!" almost soccer like, "Hextech Control Point", etc. Plus your champion might impact you do better in some rounds than others. Like races for mobility, or last man standing.
"We are kinda done after that" Well. Thats assuming they dont do anything with Renata, Camille, Ezreal, Orianna, Blitzcrank, Mundo, Twitch, Urgot, Zac or Zeri.
In which case, I did want to mention another idea for who could be the mystery vgu. If Orianna is being rewritten into being Singed's Daughter, they would have to change some aspects to her. Her design is also fairly dated for a Piltover champion. They would also have to move her down to Zaun instead, in which her overall design should reflect more of that region as well. And they could also end up giving her a new skin based on whatever happens in arcane. like if theres a pre robotic version of her that works. Her current animations wouldnt support that well.
They also obviously want to keep that a secret until its finally revealed. be it in arcane or in a promotional trailer. So it would stay a mystery for now. Given if they even are going the route of Orianna in Arcane

I kinda wish they made the champion mastery a prestige system, where if u reached a certain mastery rank you can prestige and start again, but then instead of having Mastery 11 you have Prestige I Mastery 1. I know it's random but I just feel like the unlimited champion mastery will get a bit stale eventually, the prestige system would create another layer of illusion for the player that theyre actually progressing

it make sense to make a gamemode around arcane, as it COULD bring the entire fan base of arcane to play league more, if they do all of the things they announced 2024-2025 could be the new golden age of league of legend.
