@@johnsencedric1918 they are different, copying a game mode is not a crime. See Fortnite vs PUBG. Copyright issues are the most intricately thought out and complex laws right now. It’s one thing to copy a game mode and cross similarities between character designs, but blatant mirroring of animations, art, and character designs? There’s no confusion here. What this game has done is intentional and copyright infringement.

it gets worse. I looked at their website and in the art gallery there is a pirate who looks kinda reminiscent of Gangplank. Down to losing his arm and replacing it with a mechaical prosthetic (though it's an arm cannon in this case...)
Also, I admit I do kinda like Quip's look. Seraphine and Jinx made such a pretty daughter together.

I'd have to dig into when the game was released (which i can't be assed to rn) but at the very least with the demacian-esque background there's a bunch of meaningless different-heighted buildings and such like it's very aimless and the bridge also had a weird, meaningless line going through diagonally
I was expecting to see dollar store league champs but not Invoker.
Also it's kind of a shame because some of these designs are actually decent, if a bit generic. They could've actually done something cool if they didn't just rip everything off League.
to be fair these auto battle used to copy the hell out dota champions, remember like 2010 there were loads of these collect hero and auto battle but 2D and majority of times you could find DOTA majority of the time, but now a days you see more league than dota ones and it's always funny to spot them when you find and how little they change.

Nope, ai generated content would have artifacts and is not yet on such a level. From what I could see so far they most likely stole the rigs and animation from wild rift and traced / used silhouttes for models and pictures.

"The game 100% AI made" is probably a stretch, but surely shovelware mobile game developers use AI for parts of the development process like character design sheets etc?
I also remember seeing a lot of RUclips ads (haven't bothered getting adblock on the mobile) for gacha games that clearly have AI generated art.

This isn't surprising, But what surprise me is how mobile legend do the same rip off of league but somehow able to avoid lawsuit for years until last year where rito finally sue them. But Mobile legend literally won the case againts league of legends despite league providing all the evidence of 1:1 ripped off in mobile legend lmao. Rito is pretty much fked for years on mobile field to this day

Well this will be quite the court case with how much copyright was infringed upon. There's two courses of action, possibly more, that Riot could take to reach a settlement otherwise they will bring that company to court; one being that they make sure alot of that game's assets or the game itself is taken down/offline or they make them pay a large sum of money, potentially numbering in the tens to hundreds of millions, and properly credit Riot for the "borrowed" assets.
didnt stop mobile legends unfortunately but hopefully Riot does those, or that this game doesn't get enough attention to the point they'll be raking in tons of money to pay off the fines and continue to milk Leagues assets like Mobile legends does

Mobile Legends is the biggest Mobile Moba. and they started off the exact same way this current game did. it's heavily inspired work in many ways. the only thing riot can probably actually get anything on them is the symbols and ability icons. but those are so minor they can easily be changed. it's not like this game is taking away Riot's fanbase so i doubt Riot would even care to challenge. @@welderscript9329
@@welderscript9329 From how many assets were used and potentially taken without permission from Riot and any other companies, it stands to reason a thorough investigation may become possible in the near future. This could result in that company being searched for stolen assets along with the game being heavily scrutinized. Of course it will take a search warrant, but i doubt Riot and any other companies will have issues acquiring one.
Valve may also take issue with them making what is essentially a copy of the Invoker from Dota 2.

Holy cow, why don't just make actual characters at this point? They totally hired animators and designers to pull these off. Would it hurt to pay concept artists to not get sued by Riot?
They could have easily just ripped models and animations from wild rift and just remodeled and repainted everything, is a common thing to do. We have model replacement on PC LOLl as well
TBF I would not be surprised if they feeded an AI the background images for demacia/noxus/frelyord to remake them a bit differently.
In China, the act of stealing someone else's work and successfully selling it off as your own is often considered a shrewd and smart business move, and something to aspire to. Why waste time designing characters and locations when you can simply rip off high-quality designs and animations that have already proven popular and successful? Let others do the hard work of R&D, focus groups and market surveys and simply sweep in to leech off of their target audience once their product has proven successful!

The characters models look great, they literally just needed 5 minutes to think of slightly different concepts some time for different animations and they could have a good game for people who enjoy afk games

It kinda actually is, I believe they got like 1 dev and 1 artist or something, and everything is rip off of mostly league, literally. They got the 3d models and animations, bone structure etc from lol:wildrift, lol:pc and Dota 2

Because there might be just 1 artist, most of the art in done using AI, than traced and recolored than again tossed into AI for smoother art
To some degree, i do think that league of legends has created many iconic characters that have an appearance that matches their skills and such. Also the skill icons do for a large part fit their actions… so, creating something entirely new is hard - especially since there are already soo many original characters that in order to create something entirely new/ refreshing, league’s developers themselves are having a hard time, let alone smaller companies.
This does not justify ripping off someones homework tough.. they could have atleast tried to make some more changes to make it less obvious.

She sort of reminded me hard of Paragon/Predecessor/Overprime's Fae/Fairy.
League still doesn't have an actual fairy champ so hoping we get one soon in the next years. Maybe make them part of either Bandle City or Ixtal so that they fit in. Speaking of Dark Willow in Dota 2, she's a fresh concept about fairies cuz mostly fairies always look like Tinkerbell good but never the visual of an evil trickster so glad Dota 2 made Dark Willow that way cuz in most lore, fairies are actually jerks.

A league heroes collector game would be cool, like a kind of game where you collect them and build them like TFT but you can march them around and the battles are turn base like the Ruin King game.
The problem is gacha, if it when that route it either 100% pay to win, or just PvE only content, i hope they do it like Total War where you buy a full price game with story and mainly PvE, with PvP fully optional.
one thing about making it like a gacha is some champions would need to be Legendary tier and others Epic. So they can make some gacha pull more special. How do you choose who is higher than the others?
@@keithharper32 oh that's easy, do it like Sdorica do, every champion is a ssr but all start at r, you have to rasie them up to that level, but if you are lucky you can just roll a ssr and don't have to farm to rank up them but you still have to raise lv and item and stuff.
That's if it's a gacha, it can just work like Ruin King where you unlock/find them as the story go on with no gacha, a full game that's one and done.
@keithharper32 thats really easy, just catalogue their rarity with their popularity. Make unpopular champions be super rare Make minions and jungle camps commons and rares for dragon and baron. Then make SSR the most popular champions like Ahri and Lux and just watch the money go brr

I checked out of these games when they got to the point of stuffing generic fantasy keywords like "War" "Shadow" "Legend" "Battle" "Dragon" "Sword" "Defender" "King" "Crown" "Throne" "Might" "Shield" "Kingdom" "Empire" into a randomizer and putting a couple on either side of a colon.
And then you get ones like Evony or whatever where every few months the ads change to be a completely different style of game that just happens to be identical to this other one that you're seeing a lot of ads for right now and has nothing to do with whatever vague concept they're pushing.

@@zeppedros5465 tl;dr : her design is inherently unfun for her early laning opponents because it removes basically all of the interactivity someone comes to the game for.
Playing against her is a miserable experience. Very binary. She makes her ADC essentially immune to poke (so you don't get the fun back and forth dancing around the wave to land a hit and run before they hit you back) and able to win any 1v1 duels early on by just being a souped up ball of stats+shields+heal. There is very little counterplay because you can't pick Yuumi or chase her off or zone her out like you can with other Enchanters (I might land 3 hits on a Lulu and force her to back off where she can't now support her ADC without risking getting killed but did *I* take damage in return so now *I* can't pressure either?). While you can build anti-heal it only ameliorates the problem doesn't solve it and her Ult is a great anti-engage tool so even when your ADC does make a mistake and gets caught out you have an unstoppable defensive ability just waiting.
Basically all the fun back and forth, skirmishing, outplaying, positioning, etc. is removed from the lane. She is one of the most hated champions in the game not because she wins all the time (she doesn't) but because she drains all the enjoyment out of one of the most engaging and individually expressive portions of the game for her opponents.
Yes, you can beat her lane or win the game. But it's not *fun* to face her. And if I have time for 1 game a day I'd like to actually have some fun, you know?

They clearly have some talented artists to make those original assets, I don't get why they'd waste it on making such an obvious ripoff to the point it's literally using stolen and traced art. If it was just low effort shit spurted out to trick people I'd get it, but this seems to have a bit of effort put into it. They could've made something original with just a bit more effort, and instead they wrote an open letter to Riot begging them to please sue.

Yeah most of these are straight up ripoffs but a few of them I can't really find fault in when taken out of context. A few of them are amalgamations of different champions - something League itself has done in its early days with DoTA Allstars. Early Ashe is virtually just Drow Ranger with Mirana's Ult, Sand King split into Rammus (ult) and Skarner (scorpion theme), Vollibear is basically Ursa, etc. However when taken into context the sheer number of amalgamations and straight up model, icon, background, and animation ripoffs, its really hard to paint even the few that seem original as, well, original.
Funny enough, dollar store Demacia also has dollar store Alliance flags hanging on.
In the defence of that Mei character or whatever their name is: you can’t really claim a Son Wukong character is ripping off League. They’re technically ripping off Journey to the West.
I mean, literally every interpretation of Son Wukong in any game ever uses clones and clouds and a big pole.

You see, in Journey to the West, Wukong has so many different abilities and powers that could be explored for the concept of the monkey deity, even so that it would be possible to make a Wukong that isn't a monkey warrior fighter archetype like in LoL, Smite, Dragon Ball, almost all mobile mobas, but instead a support champion that, you know, travels to the west helping others while in it's journey...
Honestly, I'd have rathered her than Wukong, at least visually. As Wukong has always been a bit of a lazy design. Her's isn't much better, but it is still better.

riot would make a lot of money if they made their own afk or turn based gacha, it would be a cool place to explore lore, bosses, events too, but they don't seem to have much interest in this area
