      Doesn't change the fact that we probably will never get another KDA music video like the first one by Fortiche.
      The reason Riot got Axis to do the All Out video was suspected that Fortiche was just too busy making Arcane season 1 at the time. With how valued their work is these days, I imagine Riot would be putting them on major projects only moving forward. No music videos unfortunately.

    Hi there, former Axis Studios employee here, thanks for making this video. I loved working with Riot, I love playing League and I enjoyed watching your lore videos while working on Tales of Runeterra and Wild Rift story trailers (I specially loved working on Braum's episode, my fav champ, and Warwick's Eyes of the Beast trailer). I was lucky to work with some of the most talented people in the business and I'm really proud of it. Its been a rough time, around 260 people jobless, many of them are owed around 2 -3 months of payment from the studio (Axis). It's very sad that everything ended up this way, but I'm happy I was given the chance to be part of this community. Until the next one!

      I'm not really a fan of Axis' version of KDA, specifically 'More.' The dance moves feel robotic and too uniform, unlike Fortiche’s KDA 'Pop/stars', where you can clearly see the distinct movements of each member and their individual styles. There’s something about Fortiche’s 2D/3D style that feels impactful, and the motion blur looks convincingly real. But hey, I’m just grateful for the return of KDA during the world's darkest days.

    • @SlayerAnims
      @SlayerAnims 2 месяца назад +24

      MOREs choreography in the video was a little jankier because it was during covid and they couldn't motion capture in person or something (if I recall correctly) so it's not really the studios fault. You make a good point the dance moves don't look as good but the special effects were really nice in that video as well just like POPSTARS

    • @ricodc6529
      @ricodc6529 2 месяца назад +1

      Just a guess but maybe it's because they aren't getting projects constantly. The cause of that, I don't know but It's not like Riot pushes out cinematics every month and even then, Axis Studios isn't the only studio that they hire. If the projects are uncertain then it's hard to pay your employees monthly which would then lead to eventual layoffs and bankruptcy. And as Necrit has stated, due to the quality of their work, they could be charging a very high amount.

The others were made by Blur Studios (Ep1 Duelists, Ep2 Retake, Ep4 Warm Up, Ep5 Shattered, and Ep6 revelation) and LightFarm Studios (Lotus Map Reveal, Neon, Fade, Gekko, and Harbor Agent Reveal Trailers, Ep7 Unmade, Ep8 Reckoning). I'm sure I missed a few there but Riot consistently worked with those two studios for Valorant cinematics with the only outlier being the Duality lore cinematic which came between the Ep1 and Ep2 cinematics. I remember at the time people were complaining that the Duality cinematic looked "off" or didn't fit with the Valorant art style and preferred the style of the Ep1 cinematic which is why I guess that Riot continued to work with Blur Studios and didn't make more Valorant cinematics with Axis Studios.

    A tear was shed..
    I absolutely love the ALL OUT style of K/DA, this is really a shame. Why didn't RIOT just buy the studio? I hope that Riot will at least hire some of the people that worked there, they are seriously very talented. RIOT needs an in-house studio to make these cinematics.

    Horribly tragic.
    Axis is responsible an episode of the Netflix anthology "Love Death + Robots."
    If you enjoy animation and have never seen it... What the fuck? But in all seriousness, it's a FANTASTIC show full of small, condensed animated shorts that range from comedy to fantasy to sci-fi to straight up horror and Axis brought a LOT to the table for that show. Again, if you enjoy quality animation and haven't seen Love Death + Robots, you NEED to set aside some time and watch it.
    Edit: For more information, there's three seasons and since it's an anthology, watch order doesn't matter at all. Watch whatever episode interests you with it's description.
    The episode made by Axis is S2E5 - The Tall Grass
    My personal favorites include:
    S1E1 - Sonnie's Edge
    S1E7 - Beyond the Aquila Rift (Number one favorite episode)
    S1E18 - The Secret War
    S2E4 - Snow in the Desert
    S3E2 - Bad Travelling

    How much do you have to f**k up to make such an incredibly talented studio go bankrupt? I can only imagine it was due to some kind of administrative mess, there is no other explanation... I'm someone who never cared about LoL lore, it was literally their Runeterra vids that got me into it! Not to mention i discovered and started following you because of your breakdown/reaction to them... Lol

      It is more to do with the state of the UK as it is now. A lot of gaming studios and animation studios have been closed down in the last several years and part of it was due to
      - Brexit. This means not only loss of funding from EU grants, but also severely restricted the talent pool too
      - The recession and cost of living has a massive impact too
      - The government for the last several years didn't really care about supporting the Art and Creative Industries.
      All of these multiple factors probably least to closure of multiple studios, and Axis is unfortunately the latest victim of a struggling and stagnant UK.
