I have a very cool idea for Cho'gath lore. The idea is that Cho'gath is an inert mass of void that found itself in the Kumungu Jungles. It is an infected originator of vastaya that petrified itself to avoid the void from taking over. A Piltovian scientist named Princilla (see what I did there) studied this piece of rock while at the same time studied the beasts of Kumungu Jungles trying to infect them with the rock(I have changed the lore of the Kumungu Jungles to a jungle where every animal and plant in it is a predator who prey on each other except one, Omen, one of the current frozen champions how I have reworked into the Spike of Rebirth, an animal that can produce clones of himself with his back and tail spikes to survive, and if the original dies a clone replaces them). Princilla was accompanied by Helena, a royal guard with a Hextech bow(a mobile champion I have made up), By an exotic animal and vastaya hunter and his loyal feline creature( Rengar's adoptive father in the old role as a new jungler executioner champion) and the hunter's team. Helena rebelled against Princilla and her ways, finding them to hurt the ecosystem and set their camp ablaze becoming the guard of the jungle and respected by the creatures in it. During this fire, the Hunter promises to hunt down Helena while escaping with his men while Princilla manages to activate the stone but gets infected by both the void and vastaya powers of the stone turning into the Jungle Menace( Princilla is a frozen project champion like Omen that I gave a new kit, lore and role in this universe for them to exist). The stone activates and starts to consume everything around it transmuting with everything it absorbed turning into Cho'gath. Cho'gath is a void/vastaya made creature that like the void wants to consume the world but like vastaya it wants to become like the world. Since he is born in the Kumungu Jungles, it has a lot of mouths, fangs, claws and spikes cause of all the predator creatures in its creation vicinity and diet. Now Cho'gath is attracted to eat elemental powers too due to his vastaya nature. And he smells a great source of elemental power nearby. Ixtal. So now Cho'gath is eating his way toward Ixtal, becoming bigger and bigger with each meal with one goal in mind. To eat the whole country

Fun Fact, Aphelios's ABILITYS that you can read during a match when you play him has more words then Amumu lore + Amumu abilitys + Shaco lore + twitch lore
That's the point, you cannot read aphelios's skill details in one game but you would with the other champs that has literal sentences as their skill details.

The best part of the original lore was, considering the summoners were essentially gods from the champions' perspectives, any minor event for the summoners could be a catastrophe to them. Imagine the Noxian invasion of Ionia happened because a Yasuo one-trick kept running it down.
The war in ionia was actually an event way at the beginning IIRC. It's why we have the Ionian boots, because it was based off of whichever side won during the tournament, and it was like a team primarily of ionian champs vs one against noxian champs.
Love how the one canon universe was meant to eliminate confusion yet I've never been more confused than I am now about the story, now everything seems to contradict itself.
Part of that is because of Arcane... And I still say that Riot deciding that making Arcane "official lore" was their biggest mistake for the overall story of Runeterra. They should have kept it separate, like the MCU is separate to the comics. People aren't so stupid that they wouldn't understand that concept after it's been in mainstream pop-culture for over 20 years (between the MCU, the DCAU, "movie versions" of stories, etc.). I like Arcane for what it is, but compared to the deeper lore we've come to expect over the last 7-ish years; it's shallow and overdramatized (like comparing Harry Potter to The Lord of the Rings, it's just a different caliber of story).
All I'm sayin is: Most of the characters being from their own worlds/pocket dimensions made more sense than trying to cram everyone into the same world. Also, alien taric was hilarious.
Arcane did well, so instead of continuing with some changes it became cannon so they can make more and line peoples pockets until it becomes dogshit like marvel.
Tl;dw (contextualizing, ad, and asterisks ends in 11:40 - watch from there for context) 1. Corki - No lore; just old helicopter man. 2. Chogath - Just a hungry void puppy 3. Kogmaw - Another hungry void puppy, but summoned by Malzahar in the world and just left them (he's a bad dog owner) 4. Twitch - Teenage mutant ninja turtle; but instead it's rat and archer. 5. Shaco - Devs: "He's a demon, I guess" anyways too busy with other reworks and Ahri skin to care.
They missed the perfect opportunity to make Twitch exist. He could have been a Silco/Singed experiment. You see Silco give a rat Shimmer, this could’ve been Twitch if they went further.
I think it'd be funny if Shaco started showing up in things like, what if he was a fighter in 2XKO? And literally nobody knows anything? Shaco just shows up in everything as a wondering menace with no past or future, just an enigma making people ask the question: "What are you?" But he only laughs, sets a box, does a jig and as he leaves, "The jokes on you!" At this point just embrace his lack of lore. But first they actually need to use him in things, which is probably never going to happen.
Shaco like an evil more mysterious deadpool. instead of cracking jokes he just pops up here and there to spread terror without ever getting a real background.
Basically a horror version of Q from Street Fighter, a guy that nobody knows anything about, have never even seen without that one trenchcoat and mask, appears out of nowhere and whose story revolves around others trying to figure out who the hell is he

tht's actually a really cool theory. it would be so fking cool if shaco was just jhin's past self all along. that could also explain why shaco's lore just kinda vanished and forgotten, because 'that jhin' does not exist anymore.
now we just need 2 more past (or future version of Jhin) to make the perfect story. Or 3 more and make Shaco the future Jhin after he learned who to count to five and added another letter to his name
And that would tie into the whole "performance" thing. A jester is a type of performer. He could want to distance himself from the past because he was trying to be "funny", but no one ever laughed. They were all scared and he got all melodramatic. Thus deciding to change his performance goal to "terror" out of some need to be perfect.
Funny how Kog is depicted as creature that consumes but his gameplay is all about spitting and vomiting (we don't talk about passive which blows inside out)
Yeah exactly. I think they like his current kit and whatnot but they want to tie in the idea of the void creatures being consumers in their nature of even being alive, to the past and present so they hit a home run on this idea and it came full circle with belveth
I like to think of kog as a hungry dog who eats some bad stuff and we suffer for it. Khaix represents evolution, velkoz twisted knowledge, while belveth is society and hierarchy and deciet, Chogath will probably be waste and neglect and somehow kaiju inspired , kaisa is obvious that we created the void and that a pure heart is strengthened by it,even using a void entity, in life and completely unfettered, kassadin I’m not familiar with his lore, Malzahar is a human concerned with the growing threat and using it after killing his lover accidentally. I love malz he reminds me of an Alex jones or something

I always thought of kog'maw's spit as a spiders/flies. They "puke" on their prey to predigest it and then they eat the "pureé" that's left after the poor thing melts

Him just being a mutated rat that crawled out of the sewers and went on a killing spree is all the story he needs. No reason, no character arc, and certainly no redemption. Just a homicidal freak with a crossbow.
Most of these should get lore, but I would be fine with Shaco not getting one. That would make him stand out as really mysterious, where people don't anything at all about him.
That's not better. He can be mysterious, but there should be a lore explanation on why he is a mystery. Personally, I'd like it if he was a mysterious creation opposite to Galio. The unknown creator "alleged" to have copied Durand, created a killer instead of a protector, but got lost in history, and the mystery supposes Shaco killed his creator, but this shouldn't be confirmed, only implied. Shaco = mysterious deadly creation. That's a theme I'm thinking of that can fit with lore.
Corki appears in a canon cinematic, chogath and kogmaw have one way interactions with some characters and twitch have two ways interactions. Everyone atleast have some recognition except shaco (poor shaco)
LoR is not canon, so those cinematics don't really count as actual appearances :D The only cinematic that can be fully canon is the "Call", but outside of that everything is just a mess

I think it would work, but make it that all the other demons don't know what's happening to their prey, like shaco targets the victims or them. And shaco is the only thing they all fear. So they do to know if he is a demon or not.
@@durttheelder4035eve and tahm are lesser demons, at least compared to Fiddle and Nilah’s demon. Fiddle and ashlash r the only one 10 primal demons we know of. I wouldn’t call nocturne a demon, reworked fiddle took his niche as the representation of fear and did it better. He could be the demon of nightmares or phobias but wouldn’t make sense to have a nightmare demon without a sleep in his kit
It never made sense that cogmaw eats everything because his abilities are all about spitting and throwing up. Meanwhile chogath gets the eating things ability. So I propose new lore tying them together in a horrifying way. They are both for exploring the world by consuming pieces of it and share the same void stomach, but every time cho eats something that doesn't sit right cogmaw has to spit it out. One is always hungry while the other is horribly overfull and throwing up. But that's a two for one fix. Make it worse. Have corki fight them, make twitch something cogmaw spat up, and make it shaco's fault.

It has been six months. Arcane is now finished. And in true loyal fashion, they continued to ignore Twitch, even after the chem-experiments could've tested on a rat who proceeded to escape and develop into the furry little plaguebearer we know today.
That intro just makes me miss the old lore. Where it was basically a UN with actual power, and nations trying to figure out how to bypass this "UN" to actually gain more power.
My guess as to why Shacos story (and the character itself) never got reworked might be due to his voice actor: Adam Harrington. Adam Harrington voiced several champions in the earlier years of League of Legends (Mordekaiser, Karthus, Ryze and Kassadin). Now funny enough every single one of them got reworked with different voice actors (except Shaco). I've once read something about a conflict that happened between Riot Games and Adam Harrington after Riot Games apparently said he wasn't a real voice actor. Now the thing with Shaco is...Adam loved Shaco the most out of all the characters he voiced (he even wore a Shaco hat during a live panel session). So my guess is that they didn't touch Shaco as it was Adams favorite champion but most likely they can't get Adam back for voice acting Shaco if they would want Shaco to rework that champion.
Shaco is a rift watcher. Manifestation of champions anxiety, maliciousness and fear of death. He pokes fun at the fact that they are trapped in endless cycle of death and rebirth.
I think the funniest and most efficient thing to do with SHaco is make him embody pure chaos by simply not giving him his own story and having him pop in randomly for like 5 seconds in other stories all over runeterra then vanish so that in universe and out, nobody understands how, where or why this dagger wielding clown popped up, stabbed them and then fucked off somewhere giggling. Pure unadulterated chaos in this character than canonically exist yet doesn't.
It would be cool if in the one of the episode of arcane shaco would just apear bahind one of the main cahrecters, backstabs them and then run away giggling. And that it. They never found him, never knew who he is and the show just go on with new reality
they should make Kog'maw a baby having escaped the void and running around spitting on people not understanding he is murdering people and thinks he's just playing. Then have Bel'Veth try and reel him in and Kog'maw calling her mom....it would be sooooo cute...I think Kog'maw is adorable :)
i feel like shaco's lack of background is his core feature. an elusive jester, he chooses to leave his performance without the audience, or so we're left to believe.
Some honorable mentions in my opinion are: Teemo: Like Necrit said he is Yordle in Bandle City, the scouts leader and I guess a sociopath. But from what we know how bandle city works they don't really need a scout-like military, Yordles apperently are immortal, Mortals can't really enter Bandle City without going insane and I don't recall any threat large enough for Bandle to need some kind of military force. It almost feels like the yordles were afraid of Teemo and said to him something like "Wanna join the military? Wanna become a scout? Yes? Go to Runeterra and search for threats ... for eternity." Just so that he is not around. Rammus: We don't know what he is. Ascended? The lost brother of Voli, Orrn and Anivia? Just an armadillo? The only thing we know is that he rolls around Shurima, eats Voidborns like Cheerios and the Shurimans think he is a myth. Amumu: His lore is just three different folktales from the Shurimans. We don't know which one is the orrect one if there even is a correct one.
the original Bandle City lore was that the yordles made their community around a giant unfinished rocket and were dedicated to finishing it to see whats outside the world That why the yordles have mechanical themes (robots, planes, bombs) Teemo and Tristana were the scouts who watched out for enemies that could harm the rocket ship However they made Bandle City become another dimension so Teemo have 0 reason to exist :P
Rammus at least has a canon story, but his being doesn't really have to be explained. His concept is that he's an irrelevant joke character from Shuriman folklore, same with Amumu (not on the fun part though XD)

I will always push that Shaco should be a clown in the woods that stabs people and that is his only lore. He's just there. Disconnected from everyone else. Unbother. Moistureized. In his lane. And if you kill him he just comes back. He's not even magic or anything he can just do that. He's not a demon either he just hangs with 'em sometimes.
What is really strange to me about Corki is, that he is considered a yordle, but that he doesn't have the characteristic fur every yordle has (except for Lulu, who at least has a purple-ish skin color and lot's of magic). Corki straight up just looks like a small human with a mustache in a helicopter
Cho'gath would make sense as the counterpart to Aurelion something like "in the void of space the creator of worlds forged his stars, not knowing that he awoke what was long asleep, so long in fakt that its hunger for another universe is insatiable. watching and waiting for his meal to be ripe for devouring."
The most lore Shaco ever got was when a reporter for the Journal of Justice tried to interview him. He was allowed like 5 questions before the jester tried to murder him, so the whole interview has an especially unnerving vibe.
What's funny is just last year, I think, I noticed that when you select Sona in champ select she no longer said "Only you can hear me Summoner, what masterpiece shall we play today?" Instead, now she says "What masterpiece shall we play today?" The change shook me up a bit as a Sona main but I occasionally play champs that still talk to the Summoner like Brand (unless they've VERY recently changed his audio) and Cho'gath
Honestly kinda wish previous iterations of story had its own canon universe, if ONLY they didnt fire all the writers. Riot kinda didnt think through when they said "everything is canon starting now".
They fired the writers? Well it wasnt a bad decision from what i can see, given arcane, hopefully when piltovers done then the rest of the nations can follow suit.
League is really missing out on Shaco, they could easily make him into a sort of "demon of chaos" that's neither good nor bad. A creature who could distort reality into weird psychodelic things and really get into the minds of people. Sometimes for terrible evil, sometimes just for clown shenaningans, but always chaotic. Imagine a story where a guard is terribly scared because his friends are getting picked off one by one in f-ed up ways and displayed as some sort of circus attraction and in the end shaco just gives him a jack in the box that blows a party blower and Shaco go away, leaving the guard absolutely traumatized. Literally riot have the perfect character to turn into a fourth wall breaker, almost deadpool-eske, but they don't have the courage to do so
i totally agree with you but problem is that riot games is a company, and companies dont make a move without a reason. they could update shaco lore but for what? he has a consistent player base that mostly dont care about his lack of lore, hes playable so theres no need for emergency vgu and also he didnt have any lore ever, different story would be if his story would be outdated and his voicelines wouldnt make sense like sona for example
I could have sworn that cho’gath was the thing “laughing” at Aurelion in his lore. And Sol took that personally and sealed up the void rift and took out a pantheon with it.
Shaco could easily be turned into a demon of... deceive? trickery? some kind of play with being a joker They wouldn't have to change much of his aesthetics or anything, simply confirm him to be part of the (possibly) 10 demons that Fiddle (possibly) mentions (in the line of "Fiddlesticks end of men, Fiddlestick first of ten") where Shaco plays with people around and feeds off their joy or something I mean Evelynn is demon of lust - feeds off lust Tahm the demon of greed - feeds off greed Nocturne demon of nightmares - feeds off nightmares Fiddlestick demon of fear - feeds off fears Shaco being a demon of trickery - plays jokes - makes people laugh - and feeds off their joy [Edit] I completely forgot Nilah existed, but the reply also gives a good idea
I think demon of despair works best since joy is taken by Nilah im pretty sure. Despair theme works well with his kit: think you escaped - shaco box fears you into enemy; think u killed shaco - nope it was his clone; think you can take jng camp - no shaco smite steals then invis. Essentially at the points you feel the most hopefull, shaco comes and take its away.
I think Kog'maw's design might be used as him being a useful design as a "tool" to consume all material, organic, magic, and synthetic, for use by a higher void being/beings to produce more dynamic void creatures. I say design because maybe steal a bit from 40; and let him be able to die and then get reformed and redeployed elsewhere to exhibit the inevitablility of the consumption. If they wanted him to be more sympathetic could make him not consume things that aren't "new" designs, like maybe he doesn't consume most people unless they have a unique trait or magic. I think making him a mix of cute and deadly would fit a more unpredictable nature.
I like Chogath as a "hive tyrant" type creature that broadens the view of the watchers in an area through his presence and so void creatures become more organized and tactical and strategic when he is around. For his character I think it would be interesting if he actually gained interest in mortals because they use tactics and strategy, maybe he even considers or desires to betray the void so that he can have unending conflict for his entertainment instead of "winning" for the void.
The day we receive actual stories for these champions is the day I may finally rest in peace… if riot doesn’t end the world with the 5000 world ending scenarios and events.

Things riot could do cho'gath - Go full Shin Godzilla Kog'maw is his child. Kog-maw - Shin Godzilla 2 electric boogaloo, but instead he has 5 max stacks where his 5th max stack is a humanoid Twitch - Arcane 2 event reveal Shaco - a God aspect or one of the demons Corki - Arcane 2 event reveal
I love that this is showing up in everyone's feeds as we all collectively lose our minds over Season 2 Act 3. I'm picturing Necrit with his face buried in his hands as he tries to write the script to a video explaining how all of this shit is gonna work now lmao.
Some quick ideas to fill in the gaps for lore. CORKI: bandlecity airforce. He patrols the borders and gates to make sure no one invades but the twist is that basically no one can get into bandle city anyway so hes just a crazy paranoid nut that the other yordles just love and let him be. Basically, cooky grandpa. SHACO: aspect of joy. Hes the joy youre ashamed to admit you feel i.e. taking pleasure in your enemies misfortune. TWITCH: Just make him one of singed lab rats. Id like to see him be good though. Like he's a defender of the forgetten and the little guy. But thats very far from what he is now. Chogath: can keep that he's a world devourer. say he has an insatiable hunger and the more he eats the more he grows and the worse the hunger gets. If he isnt stopped he will devourer the world one day. KOG: this is weird but link him to cho. They are connected and all that Cho eats gets transportted to Kog to digest. Kog has an unlimted amount of ammo to vomit because Cho is constantly eating.
I really wouldn't be surprised if in a year from now we still don't have anything on the lore - I fully believe Riot didn't actually plan for the 1 canon idea, they just heard the complaints and saw what was being complained in the immediate vicinity of other IPs and decided to go for it to surf on Arcane's popularity... but since they never actually wanted to spend money to expand the universe, why would they spend money to fix it now? Like more then half of the Zaun/Piltover characters from LoR need an entire new code of paint, and we don't even know how that connects to the rest of the regions in the world. It really feels like that state where Riot didn't want to tell more stories of certain regions/champions because those had the opportunity to make more money elsewhere, except now that's a thing for the ENTIRE lore.
Riot is just a game production company. What makes me the most angry is that in the recently released champions like briar, smolder... it doesn't build the lore tighter at all. It seems like they're just trying to make epic cinematics just for advertising that have nothing to do with lore canon

I find that Corki got a decent amount of exposition in the animated story “Tales of Runeterra don’t mess with yordles” 😮 we see that he is essentially a comedy champ who does funny bits, he is also bandle city’s most decorated flying ace and hates to be underestimated, it’s true that it’s not a story and we still don’t know about his life, but it did give on his personality, thing that the others on the list never had xD
I for one think Shaco needs redone in literally every way. He needs lore, model update, new particles, and a new kit. He is 'old and stale' in pretty much every way at this point. Never have I seen a Shaco and thought "Oh lore matchup!" like when you see the Ascended fight for example, and never have I thought "I lost that fight due to the other player's skill.". The clown. just needs. to be. BETTER!
The idea of summoners rift being a huge fighting stage for represants of different lands is still kinda cool. And propably possible to somehow incorporate into the story
I once thought that Shaco's lore update could tie him in with Ashlesh similar to Evelynns minions in LOR. Where they tried to take their power but ended up bound to them instead. And The Black Rose have sealed demons into toys and dolls before, so the possessed demon puppet idea can still be a thing.

Idea for Shaco Lore: Shaco was the assasin meant to kill King Viego but failed, he waited for the right moment to try and kill Viego again but he was stuck deep within the castel and had no chance until Viego sets out for the blessed isles. Shaco follows but then the Ruination happens and Shaco becomes the crazy fool we know him. Ur thoughts?
I had a similar idea, but making Shaco a foil for Gwen. Viago's childhood toy embodying his type of love... which, reminder, his love murdered thousands to get his object of affection back without thought of what she would have wanted. So Isold dying to a poisoned dagger was inevitable once he abandoned his childhood toys for young love.
Idk why I love the fact that my main favorite character Shaco is a nobody from nowhere that just suddenly appears, kills people and nobody knows if exists it's like a serial killer hallucination that backstabs people meanwhile the attention is being focused on other champs or other stuff. But I think they should do like a little update to his lore he has such a huge potential to build an awesome and mysterious story

A Piltovian scientist named Princilla (see what I did there) studied this piece of rock while at the same time studied the beasts of Kumungu Jungles trying to infect them with the rock(I have changed the lore of the Kumungu Jungles to a jungle where every animal and plant in it is a predator who prey on each other except one, Omen, one of the current frozen champions how I have reworked into the Spike of Rebirth, an animal that can produce clones of himself with his back and tail spikes to survive, and if the original dies a clone replaces them). Princilla was accompanied by Helena, a royal guard with a Hextech bow(a mobile champion I have made up), By an exotic animal and vastaya hunter and his loyal feline creature( Rengar's adoptive father in the old role as a new jungler executioner champion) and the hunter's team. Helena rebelled against Princilla and her ways, finding them to hurt the ecosystem and set their camp ablaze becoming the guard of the jungle and respected by the creatures in it. During this fire, the Hunter promises to hunt down Helena while escaping with his men while Princilla manages to activate the stone but gets infected by both the void and vastaya powers of the stone turning into the Jungle Menace( Princilla is a frozen project champion like Omen that I gave a new kit, lore and role in this universe for them to exist). The stone activates and starts to consume everything around it transmuting with everything it absorbed turning into Cho'gath. Cho'gath is a void/vastaya made creature that like the void wants to consume the world but like vastaya it wants to become like the world. Since he is born in the Kumungu Jungles, it has a lot of mouths, fangs, claws and spikes cause of all the predator creatures in its creation vicinity and diet. Now Cho'gath is attracted to eat elemental powers too due to his vastaya nature. And he smells a great source of elemental power nearby. Ixtal. So now Cho'gath is eating his way toward Ixtal, becoming bigger and bigger with each meal with one goal in mind. To eat the whole country

The best part of the original lore was, considering the summoners were essentially gods from the champions' perspectives, any minor event for the summoners could be a catastrophe to them. Imagine the Noxian invasion of Ionia happened because a Yasuo one-trick kept running it down.
This lore was really unique. I miss it.
The war in ionia was actually an event way at the beginning IIRC. It's why we have the Ionian boots, because it was based off of whichever side won during the tournament, and it was like a team primarily of ionian champs vs one against noxian champs.

Part of that is because of Arcane... And I still say that Riot deciding that making Arcane "official lore" was their biggest mistake for the overall story of Runeterra.
They should have kept it separate, like the MCU is separate to the comics. People aren't so stupid that they wouldn't understand that concept after it's been in mainstream pop-culture for over 20 years (between the MCU, the DCAU, "movie versions" of stories, etc.).
I like Arcane for what it is, but compared to the deeper lore we've come to expect over the last 7-ish years; it's shallow and overdramatized (like comparing Harry Potter to The Lord of the Rings, it's just a different caliber of story).
All I'm sayin is:
Most of the characters being from their own worlds/pocket dimensions made more sense than trying to cram everyone into the same world. Also, alien taric was hilarious.
Arcane did well, so instead of continuing with some changes it became cannon so they can make more and line peoples pockets until it becomes dogshit like marvel.

I think it'd be funny if Shaco started showing up in things like, what if he was a fighter in 2XKO? And literally nobody knows anything? Shaco just shows up in everything as a wondering menace with no past or future, just an enigma making people ask the question: "What are you?" But first they actually need to use him in things, which is probably never going to happen.

And that would tie into the whole "performance" thing. A jester is a type of performer. He could want to distance himself from the past because he was trying to be "funny", but no one ever laughed. They were all scared and he got all melodramatic. Thus deciding to change his performance goal to "terror" out of some need to be perfect.

Khaix represents evolution, velkoz twisted knowledge, while belveth is society and hierarchy and deciet, Chogath will probably be waste and neglect and somehow kaiju inspired , kaisa is obvious that we created the void and that a pure heart is strengthened by it,even using a void entity, in life and completely unfettered, kassadin I’m not familiar with his lore, Malzahar is a human concerned with the growing threat and using it after killing his lover accidentally. That's not better. He can be mysterious, but there should be a lore explanation on why he is a mystery. Personally, I'd like it if he was a mysterious creation opposite to Galio. The unknown creator "alleged" to have copied Durand, created a killer instead of a protector, but got lost in history, and the mystery supposes Shaco killed his creator, but this shouldn't be confirmed, only implied. Shaco = mysterious deadly creation. That's a theme I'm thinking of that can fit with lore.

It never made sense that cogmaw eats everything because his abilities are all about spitting and throwing up. Meanwhile chogath gets the eating things ability. So I propose new lore tying them together in a horrifying way. They are both for exploring the world by consuming pieces of it and share the same void stomach, but every time cho eats something that doesn't sit right cogmaw has to spit it out. One is always hungry while the other is horribly overfull and throwing up.
But that's a two for one fix. Make it worse. Have corki fight them, make twitch something cogmaw spat up, and make it shaco's fault.

My guess as to why Shacos story (and the character itself) never got reworked might be due to his voice actor: Adam Harrington. Adam Harrington voiced several champions in the earlier years of League of Legends (Mordekaiser, Karthus, Ryze and Kassadin). Now funny enough every single one of them got reworked with different voice actors (except Shaco). I've once read something about a conflict that happened between Riot Games and Adam Harrington after Riot Games apparently said he wasn't a real voice actor. Now the thing with Shaco is...Adam loved Shaco the most out of all the characters he voiced (he even wore a Shaco hat during a live panel session). So my guess is that they didn't touch Shaco as it was Adams favorite champion but most likely they can't get Adam back for voice acting Shaco if they would want Shaco to rework that champion.

Shaco is a rift watcher. Manifestation of champions anxiety, maliciousness and fear of death. He pokes fun at the fact that they are trapped in endless cycle of death and rebirth.
I think the funniest and most efficient thing to do with SHaco is make him embody pure chaos by simply not giving him his own story and having him pop in randomly for like 5 seconds in other stories all over runeterra then vanish so that in universe and out, nobody understands how, where or why this dagger wielding clown popped up, stabbed them and then fucked off somewhere giggling. Pure unadulterated chaos in this character than canonically exist yet doesn't.
It would be cool if in the one of the episode of arcane shaco would just apear bahind one of the main cahrecters, backstabs them and then run away giggling. And that it. They never found him, never knew who he is and the show just go on with new reality

i feel like shaco's lack of background is his core feature. an elusive jester, he chooses to leave his performance without the audience, or so we're left to believe.
Some honorable mentions in my opinion are:
Teemo: Like Necrit said he is Yordle in Bandle City, the scouts leader and I guess a sociopath. But from what we know how bandle city works they don't really need a scout-like military, Yordles apperently are immortal, Mortals can't really enter Bandle City without going insane and I don't recall any threat large enough for Bandle to need some kind of military force. It almost feels like the yordles were afraid of Teemo and said to him something like "Wanna join the military? Wanna become a scout? Yes? Go to Runeterra and search for threats ... for eternity." Just so that he is not around.
Rammus: We don't know what he is. Ascended? The lost brother of Voli, Orrn and Anivia? Just an armadillo? The only thing we know is that he rolls around Shurima, eats Voidborns like Cheerios and the Shurimans think he is a myth.
Amumu: His lore is just three different folktales from the Shurimans. We don't know which one is the orrect one if there even is a correct one.
They gotta define what a yordle actually is.... that's gonna be messy
the original Bandle City lore was that the yordles made their community around a giant unfinished rocket and were dedicated to finishing it to see whats outside the world
That why the yordles have mechanical themes (robots, planes, bombs)
Teemo and Tristana were the scouts who watched out for enemies that could harm the rocket ship
However they made Bandle City become another dimension so Teemo have 0 reason to exist :P
Rammus at least has a canon story, but his being doesn't really have to be explained. His concept is that he's an irrelevant joke character from Shuriman folklore, same with Amumu (not on the fun part though XD)

What is really strange to me about Corki is, that he is considered a yordle, but that he doesn't have the characteristic fur every yordle has (except for Lulu, who at least has a purple-ish skin color and lot's of magic). What's funny is just last year, I think, I noticed that when you select Sona in champ select she no longer said "Only you can hear me Summoner, what masterpiece shall we play today?" Instead, now she says "What masterpiece shall we play today?" The change shook me up a bit as a Sona main but I occasionally play champs that still talk to the Summoner like Brand (unless they've VERY recently changed his audio) and Cho'gath
Honestly kinda wish previous iterations of story had its own canon universe, if ONLY they didnt fire all the writers. Riot kinda didnt think through when they said "everything is canon starting now".

League is really missing out on Shaco, they could easily make him into a sort of "demon of chaos" that's neither good nor bad. A creature who could distort reality into weird psychodelic things and really get into the minds of people. Sometimes for terrible evil, sometimes just for clown shenaningans, but always chaotic. Imagine a story where a guard is terribly scared because his friends are getting picked off one by one in f-ed up ways and displayed as some sort of circus attraction and in the end shaco just gives him a jack in the box that blows a party blower and Shaco go away, leaving the guard absolutely traumatized.
Literally riot have the perfect character to turn into a fourth wall breaker, almost deadpool-eske, but they don't have the courage to do so

I think demon of despair works best since joy is taken by Nilah im pretty sure. Despair theme works well with his kit: think you escaped - shaco box fears you into enemy; think u killed shaco - nope it was his clone; think you can take jng camp - no shaco smite steals then invis.
Essentially at the points you feel the most hopefull, shaco comes and take its away.

Evelynn is in fact the demon of agony. People get this wrong all the time.
I think Kog'maw's design might be used as him being a useful design as a "tool" to consume all material, organic, magic, and synthetic, for use by a higher void being/beings to produce more dynamic void creatures. I say design because maybe steal a bit from 40; and let him be able to die and then get reformed and redeployed elsewhere to exhibit the inevitablility of the consumption. If they wanted him to be more sympathetic could make him not consume things that aren't "new" designs, like maybe he doesn't consume most people unless they have a unique trait or magic. I think making him a mix of cute and deadly would fit a more unpredictable nature.
I like Chogath as a "hive tyrant" type creature that broadens the view of the watchers in an area through his presence and so void creatures become more organized and tactical and strategic when he is around. For his character I think it would be interesting if he actually gained interest in mortals because they use tactics and strategy, maybe he even considers or desires to betray the void so that he can have unending conflict for his entertainment instead of "winning" for the void.

Some quick ideas to fill in the gaps for lore.
CORKI: bandlecity airforce. He patrols the borders and gates to make sure no one invades but the twist is that basically no one can get into bandle city anyway so hes just a crazy paranoid nut that the other yordles just love and let him be. Basically, cooky grandpa.
SHACO: aspect of joy. Hes the joy youre ashamed to admit you feel i.e. taking pleasure in your enemies misfortune.
TWITCH: Just make him one of singed lab rats. Id like to see him be good though. Like he's a defender of the forgetten and the little guy. But thats very far from what he is now.
Chogath: can keep that he's a world devourer. say he has an insatiable hunger and the more he eats the more he grows and the worse the hunger gets. If he isnt stopped he will devourer the world one day.
KOG: this is weird but link him to cho. They are connected and all that Cho eats gets transportted to Kog to digest. Kog has an unlimted amount of ammo to vomit because Cho is constantly eating.

I always thought shaco was "sleep paralysis demon" he does exist and he also doesn't. A hallucination of sorts, that terrorizes weak mind.
I really wouldn't be surprised if in a year from now we still don't have anything on the lore - I fully believe Riot didn't actually plan for the 1 canon idea, they just heard the complaints and saw what was being complained in the immediate vicinity of other IPs and decided to go for it to surf on Arcane's popularity... but since they never actually wanted to spend money to expand the universe, why would they spend money to fix it now? Like more then half of the Zaun/Piltover characters from LoR need an entire new code of paint, and we don't even know how that connects to the rest of the regions in the world.
It really feels like that state where Riot didn't want to tell more stories of certain regions/champions because those had the opportunity to make more money elsewhere, except now that's a thing for the ENTIRE lore.
Riot is just a game production company. What makes me the most angry is that in the recently released champions like briar, smolder... it doesn't build the lore tighter at all. It seems like they're just trying to make epic cinematics just for advertising that have nothing to do with lore canon
Dude they made LoL one canon long before Arcane came out. The only major retcon was removing Summoners, which the story is far better off from.

I find that Corki got a decent amount of exposition in the animated story “Tales of Runeterra don’t mess with yordles” 😮 we see that he is essentially a comedy champ who does funny bits, he is also bandle city’s most decorated flying ace and hates to be underestimated, it’s true that it’s not a story and we still don’t know about his life, but it did give on his personality, thing that the others on the list never had xD
I for one think Shaco needs redone in literally every way. He needs lore, model update, new particles, and a new kit. He is 'old and stale' in pretty much every way at this point. Never have I seen a Shaco and thought "Oh lore matchup!" like when you see the Ascended fight for example, and never have I thought "I lost that fight due to the other player's skill.".

I once thought that Shaco's lore update could tie him in with Ashlesh similar to Evelynns minions in LOR. Where they tried to take their power but ended up bound to them instead. And The Black Rose have sealed demons into toys and dolls before, so the possessed demon puppet idea can still be a thing.
Shaco is so elusive that even the writers that made him can't catch him.

Idea for Shaco Lore: Shaco was the assasin meant to kill King Viego but failed, he waited for the right moment to try and kill Viego again but he was stuck deep within the castel and had no chance until Viego sets out for the blessed isles. Shaco follows but then the Ruination happens and Shaco becomes the crazy fool we know him. Ur thoughts?

I had a similar idea, but making Shaco a foil for Gwen. Viago's childhood toy embodying his type of love... which, reminder, his love murdered thousands to get his object of affection back without thought of what she would have wanted.
So Isold dying to a poisoned dagger was inevitable once he abandoned his childhood toys for young love.
Idk why I love the fact that my main favorite character Shaco is a nobody from nowhere that just suddenly appears, kills people and nobody knows if exists it's like a serial killer hallucination that backstabs people meanwhile the attention is being focused on other champs or other stuff. But I think they should do like a little update to his lore he has such a huge potential to build an awesome and mysterious story
They should just make it so the whole lore of League is born out of Shaco's broken psyche which is why the story keeps changing
